Uncle Boojie’s Spirits (also known as Uncle Boojie’s Distilling Co.) is a Kentucky-born bourbon brand rooted in over 200 years of family tradition. Originally a clandestine operation in Howardstown, Kentucky—where the family reportedly supplied bourbon to Al Capone during Prohibition—it recently transitioned into a legitimate, legal distillery based in Louisville.

The Homeplace (Louisville Location

The brand officially opened its "Homeplace" in September 2025 in the Paristown neighborhood of Louisville.

• Location: 700 Vine Street, Louisville, KY 40204.
• Atmosphere: Designed to feel like a "kinfolk’s porch," the 4,500 sq. ft. venue features a tasting theater, a bonded warehouse, and a large outdoor area with a humidor for cigars.
• Experiences: Guests can use a whiskey thief to draw raw, unfiltered bourbon directly from the barrel and even bottle and label their own one-of-a-kind keepsake.

Bourbon & Spirits

Uncle Boojie’s utilizes a proprietary family mash bill passed down for seven generations, focusing on single-barrel expressions aged at least five years.

• Signature Bottles: Recent limited releases include an 8-year series named after family members, such as Jill (105 proof), Holly (118 proof), and Ember (121 proof).
• Rare Releases: The distillery has produced highly limited 13-year-old bourbon releases, sometimes sold in custom stoneware jugs
• Other Offerings: Beyond bourbon and rye, the distillery offers Milburn’s Grain Vodka and a proprietary "Spicy Mary" mix.

   

Visit Details

• Hours: Open seven days a week, excluding major holidays.
• Tours: Guided by Stave & Thief Certified Bourbon Stewards, sessions usually last about an hour and are kept to small groups of approximately 10 people.
• Policies: Guests must be 21+ to taste; children are allowed on the premises but cannot enter the bonded warehouse.
