About Drift Distillery:

Drift Distillery is a family-owned, "grain-to-bottle" operation in San Clemente, California, that produces small-batch spirits using wheat grown on their parents' family farm in Bison, Kansas. Founded by Ryan and Lesli Winter, the distillery also features an on-site smokehouse serving Kansas City-style BBQ.

Spirit Selection

The distillery focuses on high-quality, handcrafted spirits, many of which have won numerous industry awards.

• Drift Distillery Single Barrel Wheat Whiskey: Made from 100% hard red winter wheat, aged for a minimum of two years in 53-gallon barrels.
• Drift Distillery Vodka: Distilled three times and filtered for a smooth finish; it earned a 2021 Gold Medal from the American Distilling Institute.
• Drift Distillery Gin: Features 10 different botanicals and was a 2019 Double Gold winner at the SIP Awards.
• Drift Distillery Rum: Distilled from 100% sugar cane instead of molasses, resulting in a silver rum with a hint of sweetness.
• Drift Distillery Agave Spirit - Reposado: Unique for being aged in New American Oak with a char level 3, making it appealing to whiskey drinkers.

   

Smokehouse & Dining

The distillery expanded to include a BBQ smokehouse that combines Midwest flavors with a Southern California twist.

• Smoked Meats: The menu features items like smoked brisket, pulled pork, and tri-tip.
• Signature Dishes: Popular items include the Smoked Brisket Smash Burger and the "Pork Outlaw" sandwich with housemade roasted garlic mayonnaise.
• Rustic Atmosphere: The tasting room is built using reclaimed wood and tin from a 100-year-old barn from the family’s Kansas farm.

• Standard Hours:
  • Monday – Thursday & Sunday: 11:30 AM – 9:00 PM.
  • Friday – Saturday: 11:30 AM – 11:00 PM.
• Tasting Limits: Per California law, guests are limited to 1.5 ounces of spirits per visit and may purchase up to three bottles per person per day.
