  • 0.5 oz Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
  • 1 oz Espresso
  • 0.25 oz Simple Syrup

Instructions:
Vigorously shake all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Double-strain to pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with 3 coffee beans.

Roe Smash

  • 1.5 oz Roe & Co Blended Irish Whiskey
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.75 oz Simple Syrup
  • 4 Dashes of Aromatic Bitters
  • Splash of Soda Water
  • Fresh Mint for garnish

Instructions:

NASHVILLE (Feb. 26, 2024)Saturday, April 6, Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage and the Tennessee Whiskey Trail will host the ninth Sip of History event, an afternoon of whiskey, wine and beer sampling, live music, and dog-friendly fun at Nashville’s historic presidential homesite.

From 2 to 5 p.m., Sip of History will feature tastings from at least 25 acclaimed Tennessee distilleries and beer and wine from local craft brewers and vintners. Tickets include food and access to the 1,120-acre Hermitage property, comprising an authentically restored garden, wildlife, walking paths and narrative historical markers.

Guests will enjoy lawn games and live entertainment from singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sean Donovan. Blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged for relaxation on The Hermitage grounds, and additional food will be available for purchase.

Dogs and their families will enjoy special attention from participating partners such as Puppy Crumbles pet treats, Luv the Paw apparel for pet people, and accessories from Pet Musings. For off-the-leash fun, a fenced dog park is also available. The non-profit New Leash on Life, which is dedicated to the welfare of companion animals, will also be on-site to promote its mission.

This is the third collaboration between The Hermitage and the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, an initiative of the Tennessee Distillers Guild. Participating distilleries include Nashville Craft, Old Dominick, Old Forge, Drop Zone, Junction 35 Spirits, Nearest Green, Sugarlands, Old Glory, Mossback, Cascade Hollow, Gate 11, Jack Daniel’s, Leiper’s Fork, Company, Tennessee Legend, Ole Smoky, PostModern Spirits, Lost State, Adventure, Short Mountain, Stable Reserve, Old Tennessee, Corsair, Big Machine and Prichard’s.

“Sip of History has become one of our most popular events of the year,” said Howard J. Kittell, president and CEO of Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage. “President Jackson enjoyed distilling on the property, and he and his beloved wife, Rachel, were known to host lively gatherings at The Hermitage. Charlottesville distillery releases Foxfield Races special signature bourbon to celebrate 45th running

(Charlottesville, VA – February 27, 2024) –  Ragged Branch Distillery, a farm-to-glass whiskey distillery in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, created a limited edition signature Foxfield Races bourbon to celebrate Foxfield's 45th Running. The Foxfield Races Select bourbon is now available in Virginia ABC stores and Ragged Branch Distillery while supplies last. The 45th running of the Foxfield Races will take place on Saturday, April 27.

Ragged Branch Foxfield Races Select was made from a mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley. It is a two barrel batch hand-selected by the Foxfield team. Aged for over five years, double oaked and Bottled-in-Bond, the bourbon is priced at $56.99.

Heaven Hill Distillery Wins Back-to-Back Whisky Magazine Distiller of the Year Awards


The 2024 American Icons of Whisky celebrates the largest, independent distillery as best in country at World Whiskies Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. , Feb. 15, 2024  The Whisky Magazine American Icons of Whisky Awards announced Heaven Hill Distillery, the world's largest, independent American Whiskey distillery, as the 2024 Distiller of the Year at their annual awards banquet in Louisville, Ky. last Thursday. The award marks back-to-back wins for Heaven Hill in this globally acclaimed category. Sustainability Director Rachel Nally was also recognized as Highly Commended in the Sustainability Officer category. This was on top of being named as Sustainable Distiller of the Year in 2023.

The sequential wins emphasize Heaven Hill's stature in the industry as the largest, independent distillery dedicated to quality and heritage. With more than two million barrels aging across 70 rickhouses, the distillery's Bernheim facility in Louisville produces over 440,000 barrels of whiskey per year, in excess of 29 million proof gallons. The recognition also showcases Heaven Hill's continued commitment to the whiskey industry, investing more than $200 million in the new Heaven Hill Springs Distillery in Bardstown, Ky. slated for operation by the end of 2024. Initial production is slated for 10 million proof gallons (over 150,000 barrels) a year and will have capacity to increase production to 450,000 barrels annually. This will be in addition to the company's current distilling capacity at Bernheim in Louisville. 

The new Heaven Hill Springs Distillery celebrated a major milestone last August with the installation of the first of three stills, crafted in Louisville by Vendome Copper. At 60 feet tall and weighing more than 22,000 pounds, this still is capable of producing 35,500 proof-gallons per day which is equal to more than 500 barrels per day. Crafted from copper, a material celebrated for its role in distillation due to its exceptional heat conductivity, the still represents a marriage of traditional and modern technology. Three Vendome stills of similar size have been operational at Bernheim since the last expansion of the distillery in 2017.

Also in 2023, Master Distiller Connor O'Driscoll was recognized as Highly Commended Master Distiller along with wins in the categories of World's Best Small Batch Bourbon and Best Kentucky Small Batch Bourbon for Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C922.
