Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Unveils Its First Bottled-in-Bond Expression, Distilled in Spring 2017

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Unveils Its First Bottled-in-Bond Expression, Distilled in Spring 2017

The brand's first bonded whiskey is crafted at Bulleit Distilling Company in Shelbyville, KY

SHELBYVILLE, Ky., Feb. 18, 2025 - Bulleit Frontier Whiskey proudly announces the launch of its first-ever Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, distilled and aged entirely at the Bulleit Distilling Company in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Distilled in Spring 2017—the same year the state-of-the-art distillery opened -- and aged for seven years, this expression marks a pivotal milestone for the expanding Bulleit portfolio and demonstrates the brand's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Produced under the strict standards of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, this bold new chapter in the Bulleit portfolio reflects the precision, patience, and innovation that have become hallmarks of the brand.

Crafted to the Highest Standards with a Smooth Finish
Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond embodies the brand's signature high-rye mash bill delivering a bold, distinctive flavor. Distilled in Spring 2017, aged in federally bonded warehouses, and bottled at 100 proof, it adheres to the exacting requirements of the Bottled-in-Bond Act, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency.

This expression has already earned a 91-point rating at the 2024 International Wine & Spirits Competition, underscoring its excellence. Perfect for savoring neat, on the rocks, or as the foundation for bold cocktails, Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond offers a rich, layered experience: aromas of spice and toasted oak, a palate of maple sweetness and nutmeg warmth, and a smooth, lingering butterscotch finish.

Delicia James, Lead Whiskey Blender at Diageo said "Introducing our first Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, made entirely at the Bulleit Distilling Company is a proud achievement for our team. With our signature high-rye mash bill and seven years of aging under Bottled-in-Bond standards, this bourbon delivers a richness and complexity we're excited to share. It's a whiskey that truly showcases the best of what we do here in Shelbyville—bold, balanced, and crafted with care."

Jesse Damashek, Senior Vice President of North American Whiskeys at Diageo added: "The past year has been a defining one for Bulleit, and the release of our first Bottled-in-Bond bourbon adds a meaningful new chapter to our story. Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond is more than a celebration of craftsmanship, it's a testament to our commitment to innovation and to showcasing the exceptional quality of whiskey crafted at our distillery in Shelbyville."

Many Milestones Achieved, Many More to Come
With Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond, the brand builds on a legacy of innovation through a series of recent releases that highlight its dedication to advancing the frontier of whiskey. The last year has seen the launch of Bulleit American Single Malt, a significant step into an emerging whiskey category, alongside the introduction of Rye 10-Year-Old, a permanent addition to the range, and the celebrated return of Rye 12-Year-Old after five years, offering a rye with a complex yet approachable character. Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Launches New Rye 10-Year-Old Permanent Expression and Unveils the '10-Year Aged Whiskeys' Range

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Launches New Rye 10-Year-Old Permanent Expression and Unveils the '10-Year Aged Whiskeys' Range

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 19, 2024 - Bulleit Frontier Whiskey proudly announces the launch of Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old, the latest addition to its permanent portfolio of exceptional whiskeys. This new expression joins the acclaimed Bulleit Bourbon 10-Year-Old, forming the foundation of the new Bulleit 10-Year Aged Whiskeys range. Together, these age-statement whiskeys reflect Bulleit's commitment to crafting premium, bold-flavored whiskey while continuing to innovate to bring an expanded portfolio of whiskeys to consumers and trade.

Bulleit is building on its rye leadership with the launch of Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old. The new whiskey maintains the flagship Rye's iconic mash bill—95% rye and 5% malted barley—and is aged for a minimum of 10 years in new charred American white oak barrels, enhancing the balance of smoothness and spice that defines Bulleit Rye. Expect rich caramel and toffee notes on the nose, with hints of buttery rye. The palate delights with pear-like fruitiness, dry oak, full-bodied vanilla, and a spiced rye finish that lingers. Bottled at 91.2 proof (45.6% ABV), it's an impeccably balanced pour that showcases the best of rye's signature boldness. In recognition of its quality, Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and scored 98 out of 100, receiving Gold Outstanding Spirit making it one of the top-rated American Rye Whiskeys at the 2024 International Wine & Spirits Competition.

The launch of Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old comes during a period of growth for the rye category, where its distinctive, spicy profile has fueled a resurgence over the last decade. Bulleit has been at the forefront of this revival since 2011 when its flagship Rye helped to ignite the modern rye whiskey category. Recognizing the growing demand for innovation and more unique offerings, Bulleit developed its multi-award-winning Rye 12-Year-Old limited release in 2019, a standout that was celebrated for its age statement and accessibility. The 2024 edition of Rye 12-Year Old was equally lauded, winning a Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Similarly, Bulleit Bourbon 10-Year-Old offers a high-rye recipe that delivers a smooth, complex drinking experience. Toasty oak aromas with vanilla and sweet dried fruit lead to a palate of spice, caramel, and a refined finish that highlights the whiskey's depth. Bottled at the same 91.2 proof, it continues to set the gold standard for high-rye bourbons.

Jenika Newsum, Senior Brand Manager at Bulleit Frontier Whiskey said "Our Bulleit 10-Year Aged Whiskeys showcase the bold, spicy rye-forward flavors that define our brand. Each expression is a testament to the meticulous craft of aging and our relentless drive to push the boundaries of American whiskey. We're excited to introduce these whiskeys and look forward to unveiling even more innovations that reflect our commitment to whiskey craftsmanship."

The release of Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old follows the launch of the Bulleit American Single Malt and Batch 8 of its Barrel Strength Bourbon—two expressions that exemplify the brand's dedication to pioneering the whiskey frontier through innovative aging, finishing, and flavor exploration.

Over the years, Bulleit has amassed accolades for its Rye variants. Bulleit Rye has earned significant recognition, scoring 96 out of 100 at the 2023 Chilled 100 Spirits Awards, a Gold Medal at the 2023 New York International Spirits Competition, and a Platinum Medal at the 2022 ASCOT Awards. These wins complement the Rye 12-Year-Old's Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and join Bulleit Bourbon 10-Year-Old's impressive haul of awards, including a Platinum Medal and Best Straight Bourbon at the 2023 LA Spirits Awards, a Gold Medal and a score of 95/100 at the 2023 New York International Spirits Competition, a Gold Medal at the 2023 New York Wine & Spirits Competition, a Gold Medal at the 2023 SIP Awards, a Platinum Medal at the 2022 ASCOT Awards, an Outstanding accolade at the 2021 International Wine & Spirits Competition, and a Double Gold Medal at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old is now available nationwide for consumers 21+ with a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 750ml bottle. The whiskey is packaged in the iconic Bulleit bottle, with a light green label that prominently features the 10-year-old age statement.

No matter where or how you decide to enjoy Bulleit Rye 10-Year-Old, Bulleit reminds consumers 21+ to please remember to taste and serve responsibly.

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Kicks Off Glass Recycling, 'Don't Trash Glass,' at Kentucky Distillery

Building on the partnership's success in its first year, Bulleit brings Diageo's bar and restaurant glass recycling initiative to its home state.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 29, 2024  Today, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey announces the launch of the first phase of the successful 'Don't Trash Glass' program in Kentucky. 'Don't Trash Glass' is a bar, restaurant and local business glass recycling program in collaboration with the Glass Packaging Institute and GlassKing Recovery & Recycling to collect used glass bottles and improve regional recycling rates.

As a brand that relies on natural resources to produce quality whiskeys, Bulleit is dedicated to becoming 'sustainable by design.' This means pioneering sustainable practices in every facet of the business to help restore and replenish the resources that go into its whiskeys. The phase one expansion of 'Don't Trash Glass' into Bulleit's home state of Kentucky will further this commitment, especially as Kentucky has one of the lowest glass recycling rates in the nation, 15%*, well below the overall 31.3% national average recycling rate in America**.

"At Bulleit, we're always looking for innovative ways to improve both our production, and whiskey offerings," said Jenika Newsum, Brand Manager at Bulleit. "We owe the success of the first iteration of 'Don't Trash Glass' in Chicago to the amazing bars, restaurants and local business communities who share our common goal of reducing our environmental impact, and we're thrilled to bring this program home to Kentucky to make a difference in our local communities."

The 'Don't Trash Glass' program has collected 2.2 million pounds of glass in Illinois, and is set to continue to grow in popularity as it expands through Kentucky. Local businesses interested in enrolling in 'Don't Trash Glass' can find more information here.

"'Don't Trash Glass' is an exciting partnership that has shown a promising first year of impact to improve regional glass collection and advance circularity across our customer value chain in the Chicagoland area," said Jayant Kairam, Vice President, Society for Diageo North America. "We believe that working collectively with local businesses and the hospitality sector will generate lasting solutions that support communities and advance our sustainable by design goals. It is why we are extremely excited about expanding our partnership and taking the program to Kentucky."

Beyond introducing 'Don't Trash Glass' to this key state, since 2019, Diageo has invested nearly $290 million in Kentucky, and its operations support over 1,700 jobs in the state across the distribution, retail and hospitality sectors.

To kick off this program, and in celebration of Earth Month, visitors are encouraged to bring their glass bottles to the Bulleit Distilling Co. Glass Recycling Center from Wednesdays to Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm, and on Sundays from 11:30am to 5:00pm. The Glass Recycling Center is located at the front entrance of the Visitor's Center. Participants can take a photo of themselves recycling their glass bottles and post it to their public Instagram accounts to be entered to win two general admission tickets to the Bourbon & Beyond Festival from September 21-22, 2024 in Louisville. The social media program will run from April 22, 2024 at 12:01am ET, to June 30, 2024 at 11:59pm ET. You must follow and tag @bulleit and use the hashtag #BulleitxDontTrashGlassGiveaway to enter***.

Sustainability at Bulleit Frontier Whiskey

Bulleit's dedication to becoming 'sustainable by design' includes innovating in grain sourcing, production, and packaging. With the design of its Bulleit American Single Malt, Bulleit showcases a sustainably-minded evolution of its trademark bottle with a striking and unique green hue, crafted with post-consumer recycled glass.

Bulleit also brings its 'sustainable-by-design' commitment to life in its distilleries. In 2017, Bulleit opened its state-of-the-art distillery in Shelbyville, KY, with a focus on sustainable practices, including natural habitat protection, water conservation, and local ingredient sourcing. Later, in 2021, Bulleit began production at Diageo's first carbon-neutral distillery, located in Lebanon, KY. Designed with sustainability at its core, the distillery operates using 100% renewable energy, and is built to ensure that fossil fuels are not used during production. Bulleit also continues its partnership with nonprofit American Forests to plant and restore 2.5 million white oak trees by 2026. Replenishing this natural resource is necessary for the ongoing creation of whiskey barrels, to age Bulleit Frontier Whiskey.

Recently, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) selected Diageo North America to begin award negotiations of up to $75 million in funds to support the electrification of two production sites – including the Shelbyville, Kentucky production site, with the goal of making it carbon neutral by 2026.

Society 2030: Spirit of Progress

'Don't Trash Glass' signifies a larger shift from Diageo to improve circularity and reduce waste by increasing recycled content in its packaging. These efforts are key pillars of Diageo's approach to sustainability, outlined in its ten-year action plan: 'Society 2030: Spirit of Progress.'

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey 12-Year-Old Rye returns after five years

irst released in 2019, Bulleit has brought back the award-winning expression as the Rye whiskey category continues to grow

LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 11, 2024- After five years, a 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Gold Medal, and a clamor of requests from bartenders and fans alike, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey is announcing the return of its 12-Year-Old American Straight Rye Whiskey.

Bulleit Rye 12-Year-Old is a limited-availability extension of Bulleit Rye Whiskey, America's #1 selling rye whiskey1. The 12-Year-Old uses the same mash bill as the flagship Rye:  95% rye and 5% malted barley- one of the highest rye percentages on the market. Aged and matured to perfection in new charred American white oak barrels for a minimum of 12 years, this 2024 release incorporates whiskey from barrels aged up to 17 years in the blend. The result is a smooth, aged taste as before, but with nuanced differences from the 2019 release. On the nose, we get light, fruity, woody-oaky, floral, and vanilla-spice notes. Bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV), on the palate it is semi-sweet, clean, and crisp. The finish is enjoyable with a slight-woody vanilla spice taste.

Jesse Damashek, Senior Vice President of Whiskies & Liqueurs at Diageo commented: "Consumers and bartenders alike prefer rye's unique spicy flavor profile which adds a distinctiveness to classic cocktails. At Bulleit, we are proud to have been able to contribute to this fast-growing category ever since we launched our first rye expression in 2011.

In bringing back the Rye 12-Year-Old we are responding to the demands from whiskey lovers for more premium expressions in the rye category. Our first release in 2019 performed exceptionally in the on and off trade. What we've created with this 2024 release continues our long tradition of striving to satisfy the growing appetite for bold, distinctive, and delicious premium whiskey."

Bulleit Master Blender Andrew MacKay added: "This Bulleit Rye 12-Year-Old release remains true to the rye whiskies we've crafted before. The rye spicy character shines through the age of the whiskies and balances with those mature, elevated, and well-rounded flavors that originate from hand-selected barrels up to 17 years old. I do think it is best enjoyed neat or possibly with a single ice cube – which opens up some fruity character."

Bulleit Rye 12-Year-Old is available nationally (except for Maine) wherever fine spirits are sold, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $54.99 for a 750ml bottle. The whiskey is packaged in the iconic Bulleit bottle, with a new all-green label that prominently features the 12-year-old age statement.

No matter where or how you decide to enjoy Bulleit Rye 12-Year-Old, Bulleit reminds consumers 21+ to please remember to taste and serve responsibly.

This anniversary event brought together pioneers across art, music, food, and drinks for a day of activities that culminated in a massive bash against the backdrop of Miami's Art Basel.

The celebration unfolded in two parts: first, a day-long brand-building workshop for up-and-coming artists, marking the last chapter and completion of Bulleit's 100-Hour Commitment– a year-long commitment to providing up-and-coming artists with 100 hours of mentorship from established talent thanks to Bulleit's long-standing relationship with music and creator platform, UnitedMasters. The workshop was then capped off by a showcase event where visual artists and musicians took the spotlight, displaying the breadth of Bulleit's commitment and year-long reach.

Clocking in 100 hours of mentorship
The day of festivities commenced with an end-to-end brand immersion experience designed to help up-and-coming musicians develop their personal brand. Expert mentors, including Cortez Bryant (talent manager and Co-CEO of The Blueprint Group), Melissa Newhart (Executive of Music Brand Partnerships at UTA), Darren Talud (Sr. Manager of Digital Content at Roc Nation), and Kah Li Haslam (Creative Strategist), offered their guidance in a series of bespoke mentorship sessions covering brand strategy, curation and creation of a visual identity and voice, marketing tactics, and more. During the day, mentees also took to the streets of Miami, guided by local artists such as Hassni Caina (Fashion Stylist and Designer) and P The Kid (Photographer), to jumpstart and craft personalized brand books, infusing individuality into each artist's narrative.

The experience finished at night, with mentees taking to the stage at Bulleit's celebratory event, showcasing their talents in live performances for a room buzzing with professional artists, press, and industry greats.

"The 100-Hour Commitment was established to provide foundational help to independent artists by addressing the real-world challenges they face, and we're proud to say that's exactly what we created here. Witnessing industry veterans come together to uplift and support artists whose careers are on the ascent has been nothing short of remarkable. It's a testament to the power of community and mentorship, and we're proud to have played a role in fostering the growth of the next generation of artists so they can push the boundaries of creativity." Said John Rough, SVP, Head of Brand Partnerships at UnitedMasters.

"With independence becoming an industry norm, Bulleit has written the playbook for those looking to meaningfully engage with these creators."

Celebrating music, art, and food
The night came alive at SVN Suite in Wynwood, the epicenter of street art and a hotspot for renowned artists from across the globe. Alongside the live performances by UnitedMasters mentees, visual artists Graph Atik, Peyton The Artist, and Ange Hillz displayed their latest artwork across the venue. This was the artists' first time exhibiting their pieces during Miami Art Week's activities, made possible thanks to Bulleit's ongoing partnership with Actively Black, who is on a mission to continue highlighting Black talent that needs to be seen.

Bulleit also joined forces with African Chop House, a collective set out to celebrate African culture through food, music, and people, who curated a bespoke menu inspired by the different flavors and cultures that make up Miami, including Coconut Curry Chicken Bites, a Shrimp & Conch Ceviche, Kung Pao Mushrooms, and their world-famous Jollof Rice.

"Last year, we set out on the bold mission to celebrate those at the frontier of culture with the Bulleit Pioneer Project. From collaborating with spoken-word poet J. Ivy to reimagining what a bar could be through technology and delivering 100 hours of mentorship to emerging artists–I look back on this last year, and I'm proud to say we've done that." Said Jesse Damashek, SVP of Whiskeys and Liqueurs at Diageo NA.

"Miami Art Week is the perfect time to cheer for what has been a fantastic year for culture, and I can't help but get excited to continue celebrating more of these milestones for many years to come."

Last night's grand event showcased the immense talent Bulleit has worked with and amplified within the first year of the Pioneer Project. Aside from the 100-Hour Commitment, endeavors included The Remix Challenge– a search for gifted wordsmiths vying for a coveted mentoring session with the esteemed J. Ivy, and the unveiling of a compelling short film featuring his poignant spoken word composition entitled "A Toast To The Times," the "New New York" celebration and award presentation in partnership with Tribeca Festival, and most recently Bulleit's Limitless Lounge, a multi-sensory bar experience in Los Angeles.

This is Bulleit's first annual end-of-year celebration of The Pioneer Project, marking the brand's renewed commitment to championing and amplifying those at the forefront of culture year after year.

All guests in attendance were encouraged to drink responsibly. The producers of Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (FAAR) support responsible decision-making.

The Bulleit Limitless Lounge: Bulleit Frontier Whiskey reimagines what a bar can be with an immersive experience fusing art and technology

The Bulleit Limitless Lounge: Bulleit Frontier Whiskey reimagines what a bar can be with an immersive experience fusing art and technology

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8, 2023  Bulleit Frontier Whiskey opened up a new chapter of the Bulleit Pioneer Project last night with the Bulleit Limitless Lounge; a multisensory immersive bar experience in Downtown LA. The Pioneer Project is Bulleit's multi-year commitment to championing and amplifying those breaking new ground in culture.

The Bulleit Limitless Lounge reimagines what a bar could be by uniting art, design, cocktails, music, and precision projection mapping technology to create a physical space where the walls, furniture, and floor change from one breathtaking scene to another while guests sip on cocktails designed to accompany and accentuate the visual experience.

This act is the latest experiential manifestation of Bulleit's Frontier Spirit which it defines as "the heart to push past what is, in pursuit of what could be". The experience invites guests to push past their understanding of what a bar is and could be through four dynamic, immersive scenes created to spark inspiration and wonder.

Collaborating with modern pioneers

To create the four scenes which span Nature, Art, Music, and Imagination, Bulleit partnered with the immersive media artists at Optical Animal, who specialize in designing and implementing digital experiences that facilitate meaningful human interactions and push the potential of technology in art.

Optical Animal created the audio/visual experience by combining a variety of visual styles and a richly textured soundscape and also brought on a plethora of creative collaborators, including Emmy Award-winning artist, illustrator, and animator Mike Perry, and the renowned muralist duo boogieREZ, among others. UnitedMasters duo Bronze Whale was also tapped to contribute an original track for the Music scene, and American Forests, one of Bulleit's key partners, served as a key contributor to the Nature scene.

Guests experiencing the Bulleit Limitless Lounge were treated to a selection of cocktails created by mixologist Crystal Mendoza. Each of her four creations was inspired by elements shown in the scenes.

Unlocking inspiration

The Nature Scene sees a hyper-real luminescent forest grow slowly before surrounding the entire space. As the scene progresses, a dense, lush green forest sprouts up around the guests and a stream flows through the middle of the experience. As night falls in the forest the sound of insects and rain envelop the space as it builds towards the transition to the next scene.

The Nature Scene served as inspiration for a sherry cobbler style cocktail with notes of slight orange nutty notes served in a mushroom glass and on a tray with fake moss, leaves, and various nature-inspired elements.

The Art Scene immerses guests in a rich and layered audiovisual feast. The sound of an army of spray paint cans intensifies around the empty space as BoogieREZ's graffiti envelopes the whole room. Sounds of paint rollers, brushes, and an urban soundscape are interspersed with the voices of the artists talking about their creative process.

Accompanying the art scene was a spirit-forward split-based (Bulleit Bourbon and Bulleit Rye) cocktail that leaned into the art and culture of Downtown LA. The glassware included edible spray paint inspired by Downtown LA's legendary graffiti scene.

The Music Scene begins as a single bouncing thread that wraps the room, reacting to the sounds of United Masters artist Bronze Whale's track 'Good Enough'. As the track builds, the room transforms around you into a wildly colorful variety of audio visualizations that react to the music.

Inspired by the Music Scene, Crystal Mendoza created a bright refreshing cocktail with a multi-sensory feel that imitates what it feels like to be at a concert. The glassware included multi-colored light to illuminate the color within the crushed ice.

The final scene; Imagination, takes guests inside Mike Perry's mind- into a world of colorful abstract shapes and patterns, changing and transforming. Melting lines and funky shapes combine into tableaus of color and geometry as the world of Mike's mind continues to transform.

The Imagination Scene's matching drink was a Bulleit Bourbon-based carbonated cocktail that reimagined cocktail presentation expectations with edible glitter and custom-engraved ice.

Jesse Damashek, Senior Vice President of Whiskies & Liqueurs at Diageo said "The Bulleit Limitless Lounge translates the essence of the Bulleit Pioneer Project into a physical and accessible activation through a reimagined bar that pushes the boundaries of what a bar environment can be. We set out to design an experience with the power to unlock inspiration in those who experience this incredible, reimagined space. I'm proud that our team of amazing pioneering partners have built a mind-bending, boundary-pushing, immersive experience that inspires awe and awakens the imagination of all who enter it."

The Bulleit Limitless Lounge took place at Warehouse 15, 930 Mateo St in Downtown LA. All guests were over the age of 21. Details for future activations of the Bulleit Limitless Lounge in different locations in the US will be made in the coming months.

All guests who took part in the Bulleit Limitless Lounge (and will take part in future activations) are encouraged to drink responsibly. The producers of Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (FAAR) support responsible decision-making.

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey unveils new film - "A Toast To The Times" - at an environmentally conscious premiere, curated by pioneers in sustainability

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey unveils new film - "A Toast To The Times" - at an environmentally conscious premiere, curated by pioneers in sustainability

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3, 2023 Bulleit Frontier Whiskey premiered its short film, "A Toast To The Times" last night at an environmentally conscious event in Los Angeles. Every part of the celebration was considered to minimize its impact on the Earth, including upcycled furniture, a "root to stem" menu, and local recycling and compostable partnerships.

The event was attended by pioneers across art, sustainability, food and technology and was the first public screening of "A Toast To The Times" — a 90-second short produced in collaboration with GRAMMY nominated spoken word poet, J. Ivy, and filmmaker Carlos Lopez Estrada. The film celebrates those on the frontier of culture and is part of The Bulleit Pioneer Project — a multi-year commitment to championing and amplifying those breaking new ground.

A continued commitment to sustainability

The environmentally conscious event supports The Bulleit brand's commitment to championing a sustainable mindset. To make this premiere possible, Bulleit united a collective of pioneers sitting on the frontier of sustainability innovation spanning food, drink, furniture and waste management.

Designer and builder, Jimmy DiResta, was responsible for furniture across the space. As well as creating tables from 100-year-old doors and recycled metal table legs, the pièce de résistance was an upcycled Bulleit bar constructed using wood from a family farm built in 1790. The metal Bulleit logo started its life as the floorboard of an International Harvester Jeep and was extracted from a junkyard before being welded, and affixed to the top of the upcycled bar. Sunbeam Vintage in Highland Park, Los Angeles, also provided vintage pieces dotted throughout the space.

Chef Josh Gill was responsible for food, alongside Stephanie Reading on cocktails. Both are known for driving forward the sustainable food and drink movement across California and produced menus using the same ingredients, utilizing the root to the stem to minimize waste. The produce was sourced from within 30 miles of the event venue, from eco-conscious purveyors, and was served on palm leaves.

This was complemented by no single-use plastic throughout the space, 100% sustainable glassware and a partnership with Compostable LA, a full spectrum community compost service that turns food scraps into superfood for soil across Los Angeles.

"Pulling off an environmentally conscious event of this size was no easy feat," said Sophie Kelly, Senior Vice President of Whiskies at Diageo North America. "I'm immensely proud of the Bulleit brand's commitment to sustainability across the board. We've reinvented category standards with our carbon-neutral distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, which is powered by 100% renewable energy, and our zero-waste production at Shelbyville. Now we're doubling down on this commitment through our marketing efforts. With this premiere, we're sharing our new film with the world as well as a glimpse of what's possible when you bring together a collection of people sitting on the frontier of sustainability and committed to change."

An expression of the frontier spirit

The event premiered "A Toast To The Times" a 90-second film that champions those living on the frontier of culture. The persistent and passionate spirit needed to break the status quo was powerfully captured by J. Ivy, and his emotive poem speaks of "those who aren't afraid to tap into their greatness", and states "wisdom is weaved in the waves we make". His words are accompanied by mixed media visualizations including original footage, illustration, animation and typography, curated by Mexican filmmaker, Carlos Lopez Estrada.

Alongside the film came the announcement of the Bulleit 100-Hour Commitment - a promise to provide emerging pioneers with 100 hours of mentorship from established talent thanks to Bulleit's long-standing relationship with music and creator platform, UnitedMasters. This commitment follows research by UnitedMasters that reveals mentorship is one of the most important — and least accessible — tools for those looking to further their craft. UnitedMasters' top talent spans musicians, writers, producers and DJs and these mentorship hours will be distributed across 2023 through activations, partnerships and digital content.

The film, "A Toast To The Times", from lead creative agency Anomaly, comes six weeks after Bulleit officially announced its Pioneer Project. In December 2022, it ran the Bulleit Remix Challenge — a quest to find talented lyricists to work alongside J. Ivy. The search resulted in hundreds of applicants submitting verses to receive a one-hour mentorship session with the artist.

Performances at the premiere event included J. Ivy, the winner of the Remix Challenge, and other UnitedMasters talent including DJ OHSO, Anisa Brenee, Col3trane and Siobhan Bell.

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Introduces Ready to Serve Cocktails: Bulleit Crafted Cocktails in Two Classic Recipes

Perfected in Collaboration with Bartenders, the Bulleit Manhattan and Bulleit Old Fashioned Crafted Cocktails Deliver a Convenient Bar-Quality Cocktail Experience from Anywhere - Just Pour, Serve and Enjoy.

NEW YORK, March 3, 2022 - Bulleit Frontier Whiskey is proud to introduce a new premium line of whiskey-based ready-to-serve cocktails to its award-winning portfolio with Bulleit Crafted Cocktails. Bulleit Crafted Cocktails offer up timeless, perfectly crafted drinks, ready to pour straight from the bottle with the Bulleit Manhattan and Bulleit Old Fashioned.

With the help of some of the most celebrated and creative bartenders, Bulleit Crafted Cocktails were perfected through many rounds of refinement. The final product is an expression of collaboration that delivers a bar-quality cocktail experience, allowing everyone from cocktail enthusiasts and whiskey lovers to casual sippers to enjoy perfectly curated cocktails anywhere, no matter the occasion.

"It can take time to master a Manhattan or Old Fashioned," said Adam Geissler, Bulleit Brand Ambassador. "Luckily bartenders are masters of their craft and have been skillfully making these cocktails with our whiskeys for years, so it was only right we had them help us create these products to help put bartender quality cocktails in the hands of people (21+) to enjoy without the time or fuss of cocktail preparation."

With the rise of at-home entertainment over the past few years, from impromptu dinner parties to small watch parties or those "just because" moments, Bulleit Crafted Cocktails allow both casual and experienced hosts to enjoy the company of friends while serving a premium cocktail experience.

"As a brand rooted in bartender culture, we collaborated with a number of leading bartenders to perfect and refine two timeless whiskey cocktails, the Old Fashioned and Manhattan," said Sophie Kelly, Senior Vice President of Whiskies, Diageo. "With Bulleit Crafted Cocktails, consumers can pour and serve bar quality, crafted cocktails wherever they are. Whilst nothing can replace the full experience of enjoying a drink made by your local bartender, Bulleit Crafted Cocktails are as close as you can get."

A fresh take on a timeless classic, the Bulleit Old Fashioned Cocktail is a sweet blend of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, with the classic flavors of aromatic orange bitters and simple syrup, enhancing the hints of spice from the high-rye bourbon. The Bulleit Rye Manhattan was inspired by the simple belief that a spicier rye makes for a better Manhattan. The Straight Rye Whiskey packs a punch with subtle deep flavor, that's balanced out by sweet vermouth and bitters which add a brilliant layer of complexity.

With these new offerings, Bulleit continues to deliver on its innovative spirit, providing whiskey fans and cocktail connoisseurs convenience without sacrificing quality. Taking inspiration from the brand's iconic orange and green packaging, Bulleit Crafted Cocktails are encased in vibrant, design-forward bottles, complementing the bold and exciting flavors within.

While the liquid is already a bar quality serve thanks to our bartender collaborators, the crafting doesn't have to stop with the pour. Bulleit encourages consumers (21+) to embrace their inner bartender by customizing their garnish choices. Whether you're the lemon twist type or an exactly three cherries type, the possibilities are endless. Served neat, chilled or over ice – enjoy however you'd like.

To help launch Bulleit Crafted Cocktails, the brand is putting the ready to serve cocktails in the hands of those on the frontier by working with bartenders on a content series exploring unique ways to garnish, and by celebrating with cultural pioneers starting with those breaking the boundaries of film and television at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles.

Bulleit Crafted Cocktails are a permanent addition to the Bulleit portfolio and are available now nationwide. The Bulleit Manhattan and Bulleit Old Fashioned ready-to-serve cocktails are available in 375mL and 750mL bottles, contain 37.5% ABV and have a suggested retail price of $29.99 (750mL). Bulleit to award $25,000 in annual scholarships to benefit students in need in the Master of Agriculture Sciences in Environmental Studies Program at Kentucky State University, furthering the brand's commitment to a more sustainable future

SHELBYVILLE, Ky., May 24, 2021 Bulleit Frontier Whiskey is proud to announce a new partnership with Kentucky State University (KSU), to provide financial aid to talented students in need with an annual scholarship of $25,000 to the Master of Agriculture Sciences in Environmental Studies (MES) program. As a brand focused on building community, Bulleit intends with the annual scholarship program to promote diversity in the spirits industry and provide opportunities for future leaders from underrepresented backgrounds in the brand's home state of Kentucky.

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Partners with Historic HBCU, Kentucky State University, to Help Propel Diversity within the Spirits Industry and Support the Kentucky Community

"We hope to make a lasting impact as we provide resources, funding and support to the next generation of pioneers through our partnership with Kentucky State University, an institution that has been an educational pillar for over a century in the Commonwealth," said Ricky Collett, Global & US Brand Director, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey. "This annual scholarship is a part of our commitment to help build a pipeline of diverse talent into the spirits industry by supporting the sustainability leaders of tomorrow."

The Kentucky State University MES program is designed to cut across traditional academic disciplines and colleges, and to provide sound and effective graduate education and research on important environmental issues with a focus in and around the Kentucky community. Bulleit continues the brand's commitment to a more sustainable future by supporting pioneers like the MES graduate students, who are pushing the frontier of sustainability and the alternative energy job economy in Kentucky forward.

"We appreciate this generous donation from Bulleit and the opportunities it will create to ensure some of our most talented and brightest students are given the chance to become future leaders regardless of their socioeconomic background, status or race," said Dr. M. Christopher Brown II, President, Kentucky State University. "With this partnership we're helping remove a financial barrier that prevents students from getting across the finish line."

The Bulleit scholarship is an addition to the broader $10 million commitment that Diageo North America announced earlier this year to fund permanent endowments at 25 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to develop future leaders and help shape a more equitable society. One million of that donation went to KSU, proudly making it the largest donation in school's history. The Bulleit grant will be distributed within the KSU institution through a fund structure established to provide $25,000 to support students in the MES program annually for the next five years.

With a goal of making a long term and sustainable impact in helping to promote diversity in the beverage alcohol industry, Bulleit aspires to partner with KSU on additional community-driven initiatives beyond the monetary MES scholarship including:

  • Working with KSU to actively recruit candidates for current positions and internship opportunities across Bulleit distillery sites, including the new Diageo Lebanon, Kentucky distillery, which is expected to be carbon neutral once operational later this year.
  • Educational and enriching immersive experiences hosted by Bulleit for KSU MES graduate students and faculty of legal drinking age throughout the year including in-depth distillery tours, on-site research opportunities, lunch and learns, guest speakers and more.
  • Various community activations including alumni events, and a fall campus clean up along M.L.K. Jr. Blvd in Frankfort, Kentucky in partnership with KSU and Keep America Beautiful as part of the larger Diageo Community Improvement Grant Program.

This year Diageo North America joined the Congressional HBCUs Partnership Challenge to advocate for positive policies and share best practices for partnering with the Caucus, other organizations and these higher education institutions.

That is why today Bulleit is announcing the creation of the Bulleit Frontier Fund, with an initial commitment of $250,000 over the next year to support the North American hospitality industry. To kick things off, donation recipients will include such worthy organizations as The USBG National Charity Foundation, Another Round, Another Rally and Southern Smoke Foundation.

In conjunction with the fund, Bulleit is launching a new national creative campaign that will live across TV, digital and social, starring real bartenders putting their skills to work in unexpected ways as they wait to get back behind the bar. Bulleit has partnered with acclaimed director, Lucy Forbes, to direct the new ad campaign from behind the camera. Known for her unique perspective on the comedy genre and challenging the status quo, Forbes is one of the leading voices of the new generation of comedy directors.

"Bulleit was built thanks to the support of the bartender community and those in the hospitality industry. And, with this new campaign, we are excited to not only help them with our charitable initiatives, but also to celebrate them and their unique skills." said Sophie Kelly, Sr. Vice President of Whiskey at Diageo North America. "We hope to return the support that our friends have given to us over the years and to keep them pouring!"

"The United States Bartenders Guild is an integral resource for bartenders throughout the nation and works to empower all of those who elect careers within the hospitality industry." said USBG Executive Director Aaron Gregory Smith. "Through valued partnerships and support from programs like the Bulleit Frontier Fund, the USBG National Charity Foundation is able to continue providing support to thousands of the more than 700,000+ US bartenders who are experiencing emergency hardship during this time."

Bulleit will also be announcing a variety of actions to further support those in the bartending and hospitality industry, including a #BulleitBarSkills content series, a partnership with Sourced Craft Cocktails and the continuation of the brand's educational platform, Frontier Bartender Labs.

With the #BulleitBarSkills content series, Bulleit is partnering with the USBG to recruit bartenders from across the country to help consumers elevate their at-home cocktail-making skills. The bartending industry is challenged by COVID-related closures, and many are currently out of work. These bartenders will share unique cocktail recipes and the stories behind them, while giving consumers techniques and tips. The recipe demos will be available for consumers to view on the @Bulleit Instagram channel.

For folks who want to conveniently make their drinks at home, they can order freshly made cocktails from their phone to their door through Sourced Craft Cocktails (in select markets where available). Sourced Craft Cocktails supports the bartending community by getting out of work bartenders back to their trade by making these cocktails and delivering them directly to a consumer.  Bulleit is a proud partner of Sourced Craft Cocktails and, soon, consumers will even be able to have a Bulleit Ambassador give a Bulleit tasting or cocktail demonstration at their next virtual happy hour.

Recognizing that innovation and change is imperative for the bar and restaurant industry to survive, Bulleit will continue the brand's educational platform -- Frontier Bartender Labs – with a focus on innovation and equipping the bartending community with learnings and insights from mentors, industry leaders and disrupters to help them cultivate new skills and further their careers. The labs include a series of webinars which began in early August and will continue through the Fall.

The announcement of this fund comes on the heels of parent company Diageo's more than $4.5 million commitment and #TipsFromHome social pledge movement to support those in the bartending and hospitality industry, as well as the Bulleit brand's recent #NewDrinkingBuddies creative campaign.

Regardless of how you imbibe, Bulleit reminds consumers 21+ to drink responsibly. To learn more about the Bulleit Frontier Fund, head to Bulleit.com/FrontierFund.
