James Bond & Jon Buscemi Launch Wolves "Winter Run"LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21, 2019 After selling out of their initial release in days, James Bond (Undefeated), Jon Buscemi (Buscemi,Truff, Oliver Peoples), and their partners are back with their second limited, online-only, whiskey release titled "Winter Run."  1338 bottles of Wolves' Winter Run will be available first to those on the Allocation List at WolvesWhiskeyCA.com, and second to the general public at 12 a.m. EST on November 21, 2019 at the same site.

Winter Run contains (1) whiskey distilled from craft Stout beer, aged in French Oak for 8 years, (2) whiskey distilled from craft Pilsner beer, aged in New American Oak for 5 years, (3) a Rye selected for its spice, and (4) a single malt whiskey aged for 9 years in used French Oak. The flavors hint at Wolves' critically acclaimed First Run, exuding the hoppiness, chocolate, and citrus notes that it's forerunner became known for.  This blend brings more oak, toasted almonds, and orange marmalade to the palate. The nose is slightly sweet, delivering honeysuckle, cherry cola, and warm vanilla.

With the exception of the Rye, the whiskeys in the blend were distilled by 13th generation Master Distiller Marko Karakasevic in northern California using a rare copper Alambic pot still imported from Cognac, France in 1983.

"We wanted to run it back again with Marko, who is a generational artisan working with a tried and true still.  The still is old and slow but the result is better.  We took some cues from First Run while incorporating a really earthy single malt  - I like single malts all year round but enjoy them most in the colder months.  It took a lot of work to get this right, but the result is special and I'm happy we were able to crank out a few more bottles this time in production."

Marko lives by the same code and compass that James and Jon abide, with quality and authenticity as their north star.  Each small, bespoke batch of distillate is created by Marko over a near-sleepless 10-day period to ensure the heads and tails are cut out properly, and that only the hearts remain for barrel aging.  It's a lonely and exhausting process, but the result is better whiskey.

The Alambic still from Cognac creates massive body that you cannot easily find in whiskey made from a more efficient column still. And because the Stout and Pilsner whiskies are distilled from finished craft beer, the hoppy flavors are pronounced and the nose is slightly sweet. The team landed at 104 proof for this edition.

"Our group comes from apparel and music background, our concept to do multiple drops like you would a fashion /shoe brand or new music was to always keep it fresh and exciting. Continue to add to the catalog, and in theory when you collect all the drops you get a piece of our story," added James Bond.

Built to live as authentic as the whiskey itself, each bottle of Winter Run is wrapped by hand in a chocolate espresso Italian sheepskin leather, which is laser cut, embossed, printed with UV light, and laid flush to the glass by hand. The bottle is heavy and French-cut, while the cork top is made of Maple wood. Each bottle is delivered in a canvas sleeve that was stitched by hand and designed to fit Winter Run like a glove.

Wolves produced 1,338 bottles of "Winter Run." On November 21, 2019, they will be available for purchase on a first-come first-served basis at WolvesWhiskeyCA.com with free shipping.  An allocation of bottles will also be available at Flaviar.com.  MSRP $185.

Michter's to Release Its Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey for the First Time in Three YearsLOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 19, 2019 After a three-year hiatus, Michter's Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey will be released again in December 2019. This year's release of Michter's Celebration is a blend of whiskey taken from six carefully selected barrels. "Working on my first Celebration release was a labor of love for me. Ultimately, I chose to take whiskey from two Kentucky straight bourbon barrels and four Kentucky straight rye barrels in our stocks. Each Celebration release is special and unique, and this year's release differs from the 2016 one, where the whiskey came from three bourbon barrels and three rye barrels," said Michter's Master Distiller Dan McKee.

Tremendous attention is given to finding the perfect barrels for Michter's Celebration. Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson observed, "It's not just a question of finding this great barrel and putting it with that great barrel. It's a matter of selecting fantastic barrels that go together so well that the whole will be greater than the sum of the parts. The whiskeys in the 2019 release range in age from over a decade to over 30 years old."

When Michter's Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey was released in 2013, it marked a significant moment in United States whiskey history. For the first time, an American whiskey company was offering a rare blend for a suggested retail price of several thousand dollars. "At Michter's we had the thought that great whiskey made in the U.S. was a worthy rival for the very finest spirits from other parts of the world, so we came out with the first release of Michter's Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey," remarked Michter's President Joseph J. And it's this story that's now encapsulated in a new 1500ml Kavalan whisky, the "King Car Group 40th Anniversary" single malt, to mark the landmark anniversary of Kavalan's parent company.

Already launched in Taiwan, Kavalan's newest special edition - which elegantly combines the creamy richness of toffee with the intense sweetness of dark fruit notes - will be available in select countries globally in 2020.

Kavalan is unable to reveal the exact cask that this extraordinary, flavourful whisky has been aged in, other than to say it's a highly exclusive red wine cask of world-class standing.

CEO, Mr YT Lee, said like the only other whisky to be launched in the group's name, the "King Car Conductor," the 40th Anniversary Limited Edition was fittingly multidimensional, complex and full of depth.

"I am honoured to be part of the journey first begun by my father four decades ago. King Car has always strived hard to deliver the finest quality - a pursuit that defines our character - and this insistence on excellence will continue into the future," Mr YT Lee said.

Master Blender, Ian Chang, said he had made a whisky to celebrate a tremendous milestone.

"It's been aged in a very rare red wine cask whose majesty transfers to a richly intense whisky, delivering very distinct berry flavours and luxuriant toffee," Mr Chang said.

Mr Chang said the packaging paid tribute to Yilan County, which is both Kavalan's homeland and Chairman Mr TT Lee's, through the form of Snow Mountain - Kavalan's water source.

The bottle's smooth yet sturdy shape expresses elegance and strength. Its crown-shaped cork is adorned with world-renowned Swarovski® crystals. Persistence and durability, and harmony with the natural environment, are imparted through the leather and wood casing of the box.

COORACLARE, Ireland, Nov. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Ireland's first modern Whiskey Bonder, J.J. Corry, has launched The Chosen, a 27-Year-Old Single Cask, Single Malt Irish Whiskey, in collaboration with contemporary Irish design houses, J. Hill's Standard and John Galvin Design.

The 27-Year-Old Single Cask, Single Malt Irish Whiskey is presented in 100 individually hand cut J. Hill's Standard crystal decanters and hand carved ash wood cabinets fashioned by John Galvin Design. The Chosen will retail for £6,500 and is available internationally from Bordeaux Index, Fine & Rare and in Ireland at The Celtic Whiskey Shop.

The design of the decanter and cabinet echoes the dune grass of the local beaches of the Wild Atlantic Way, home to J.J. Corry Irish Whiskey. Every crystal decanter is hand cut in Waterford by J. Hill's Standard, contemporary crystal design house founded by Anike Tyrell, while the ash wood cabinet is the creation of master craftsman John Galvin, a native of Cork. Both Irish design houses share a respect for traditional Irish crafts while interpreting them in a contemporary fashion, similar to the ethos of J.J. Corry Irish Whiskey.

Tasting Notes

Rich and superbly elegant with notes of toffee, rancio, dried mango and chestnut. This palate of intensely ripe fruits is complimented by incense and a luscious oily texture. The finish is long with just a touch of smoke. The Single Malt Irish Whiskey is bottled at cask strength at 52%.

Matthew McConaughey and Wild Turkey® Bourbon Team Up With Operation BBQ Relief to Prepare Meals for Los Angeles First RespondersLOS ANGELES, Nov. 1, 2019 Matthew McConaughey and Wild Turkey® have teamed up with disaster relief organization Operation BBQ Relief to give thanks to first responders nationwide as part of the Bourbon brand's "With Thanks" annual charitable giving campaign. The program kicked off today in Los Angeles where Wild Turkey Creative Director McConaughey, Master Distiller Eddie Russell and a group of volunteers prepared and delivered turkey dinners to first responders who are critical in the rescue and relief efforts around the current wildfires in the area. The turkeys were generously donated by Butterball®, official turkey sponsor of Operation BBQ Relief.

McConaughey rallied volunteers and jumped behind the grill to help prepare 800 turkey dinners, which were then quickly delivered by the group to more than 20 firehouses of heroes who are battling the wildfires that are raging across Southern California. Volunteers not only prepared meals for first responders, but also cooked and packaged an additional 800 dinners for local homeless shelters. McConaughey took to Facebook Live to encourage folks nationwide to volunteer and donate to help support OBR's important relief efforts throughout the year, including their current deployment to Northern California, to provide hot meals to the first responders and those affected by the wildfires.

McConaughey and the Wild Turkey team had originally planned to be in Los Angeles in conjunction with National First Responder's Day to host an event honoring those involved in last year's Woolsey Fires, but that changed in response to the current emergency situation.

"Teaming up with Operation BBQ Relief as part of the Wild Turkey "With Thanks" has never been more meaningful," said Wild Turkey Creative Director Matthew McConaughey. "Little did we know when planning this annual event that California, my second home, would once again be hit with devastating fires. Being able to provide meals to the men and women who put themselves on the line is an honor for me, Jimmy and Eddie Russell. We are grateful to be here today to say thank you, shine a light on their unwavering conviction, and hopefully inspire others to get involved and help in their own communities."

Throughout the month of November and December, Wild Turkey will support Operation BBQ Relief (OBR), a nonprofit that responds to natural disasters and other situations to help feed displaced residents and emergency personnel. Following the Los Angeles relief effort, the Wild Turkey community will work with OBR to thank first responders in Dallas (11/5), New Orleans (11/12) and Chicago (11/19) with turkey dinners. In addition, the spirits brand will make appearances at local Thanksgiving turkey trots, including the New Orleans Athletic Club's Turkey Day Race and the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot in Austin. McConaughey personally thanked every food bank employee for their hard work and dedication.
