DUBAI, UAE, Nov. 29, 2021 - The Macallan and Le Clos have partnered to deliver a stunning launch event for a select group of Le Clos' closest customers in Dubai, to reveal The Macallan Anecdotes of Ages Collection at The Macallan Boutique by Le Clos.

The Anecdotes of Ages Collection is an extraordinary art and whisky collaboration with renowned British pop artist Sir Peter Blake. At the heart of the collection are 13 one-of-a-kind bottles of exceptional 1967 whisky. Each bottle features its own original Sir Peter Blake collage art on the label, detailing unique stories relating to The Macallan's history, community, and the beautiful natural landscape of The Macallan Estate.

Guests at the event were introduced to two of the highly sought-after bottlings from the collection – the Anecdotes of Ages: Down To Work Limited Edition and Anecdotes of Ages: An Estate, A Community and Distillery.

Anecdotes of Ages: Down To Work Limited Edition tells a very important story that reflects a milestone in the history of The Macallan: a time when the decision was made to continue using sherry seasoned oak casks in the face of pressure to compromise.

The original labelled bottle portraying this special story has been laid in The Macallan Archives, and digital replicas of this label are available as a limited edition with the same 1967 rich spirit and only 322 bottles available.

Anecdotes of Ages: An Estate, A Community and Distillery is a tribute to some of the colourful characters from The Macallan's past and present. It commemorates Sir Peter Blake's visit to The Macallan Estate on the legendary River Spey and features a label digitally designed by Sir Peter.

Building on the longstanding partnership between The Macallan and Le Clos, The Macallan Boutique by Le Clos in Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport will be playing host to one of the 13 original bottles from the collection. Anecdotes of Ages: Journey to Market pays homage to the widespread travels of The Macallan as its reputation grew around the world. A specially commissioned window display is showcasing this extraordinary whisky.

In the spirit of friendly competition, Brees, who represented the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, and McAllister, who represented Bastion Community of Resilience, hosted a "battle" for donations on their social media channels and encouraged NFL fans to retweet their tweets to unlock additional donations to their respective charity partners. The donations are part of Crown Royal's season long "Kick off with Crown" program with a commitment (of up to $1 million) to serving those who serve us via the Crown Royal Generosity Fund (a donor advised fund).

"The community in New Orleans means so much to me, and I was proud to partner with Crown Royal to assist in giving back to them," said NFL legend, Drew Brees. "I love a little friendly competition, so from the social competition with Deuce to hanging out with hospitality workers and military personnel at the Generosity Hour, it was an amazing night of fun and service."

KODAK, Tenn., Nov. 29, 2021 Old Tennessee Distilling Company has released Sid's Select™️, a limited-edition, Premium Tennessee Butcher's® Bourbon as the culmination of a seven-year dream. Sid's Select™ is made from a blend of malted barley, rye, and heirloom corn which is grown and ground locally in East Tennessee. Once the bourbon was determined ready, Old Tennessee Distilling Company hand selected ten white oak barrels and tempered the whiskey with pure English Mountain Spring water to create a 94-proof spirit with a vanilla-honey aroma and flavor notes of herbal sage, vanilla, toasted graham cracker, ginger and hints of cinnamon.  After aging for five years, each bottle was labeled and filled by hand, bringing the seven-year dream to its long-awaited close.

In 2013, Sid Blalock and Kent Merritt, founders of Old Tennessee Distilling Co., began working on their dream to produce a high-quality premium Tennessee Bourbon that would be distilled locally utilizing locally sourced raw materials from Sevier County, TN. After navigating the roadblocks of being a start-up in the industry, they filled their first barrel in August 2016, launching one of the fundamental truisms of the whiskey industry — waiting.  Sadly, Sid passed away before the bourbon had time to fully mature and mellow enough to release the final product. Determined to bring his vision to fruition, Sid's wife, Jo, continued working with Kent to turn the seven-year dream into reality. "I believe Sid would be proud of the bourbon that we produced," said Merritt. "I know I am."

Los Angeles will get a taste of a special Jack Daniel Distillery holiday tradition when the Tennessee whiskey maker debuts a seven-tier barrel tree on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Forum as part of its “Operation Ride Home” program, which has helped junior-enlisted service members and their families travel home for the holidays since 2011. Representatives from the Forum and Jack Daniel’s, including Colin Coleman, Jack Daniel’s Brand Ambassador, will be on hand to help illuminate the tree during a special lighting ceremony that is open to the community and will feature DJ Hemingway and themed cocktails for guests.

The Lynchburg, Tenn. distillery built its first 26-foot-tall tree from 140 American white oak whiskey barrels in 2011 to bring holiday cheer to residents. This year, 11 replicas will be constructed nationwide and the top barrel of each will be auctioned to help junior-enlisted service members and families travel home from their place of military service, often for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through Operation Ride Home, Jack Daniel’s and the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) have helped send over 10,000 individual service members and their families home – including this year’s travelers – while raising more than $2 million in donations. Men and women from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard have been assisted with travel to all 50 states.

The charred oak barrels used to build each tree were earlier entrusted to mature Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey only once. In addition to Los Angeles, barrel trees will be built this holiday season in Nashville, Tenn.; Lynchburg, Tenn., Tampa, Fla.; Miami, Fla.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Anaheim, Calif.; Detroit, Mich.; Washington D.C.; Cleveland, Ohio; and Milwaukee, Wis.

LONDON, Nov. 22, 2021- TODAY, Johnnie Walker launches a new extremely rare Scotch celebrating the fine art of whisky making - Johnnie Walker Masters of Flavor.

This exceptional Scotch is crafted from the finest maturing whiskies in the Johnnie Walker reserves, all of the whiskies used to create Johnnie Walker Masters ofFlavorr are aged for at least 48 years and only 288 bottles will be released - an extremely limited run of an incredibly rare Scotch.

Johnnie Walker Master Blender Jim Beveridge says: "It is fascinating to craft a Scotch that pays tribute to each of the four main steps in whisky making - malting, distilling, cask maturation and blending - to shine a light on how each craft contributes something very special to the extraordinaryflavorss that Scotch has to offer, from grain to glass."

In one of his final releases before he retires at the end of the year, Jim brought together three masters of the whisky world who he has worked with over many years, Malt Master - Donna Anderson, Cask Master - James Carson and Distillation Master - Douglas Murray, to create something that paid tribute to the skill of whisky making.

Johnnie Walker Masters ofFlavorr is the third and final whisky in the Johnnie Walker Masters series of extremely rare Scotch.

The series includes last year's incredible Johnnie Walker Master's Ruby Reserve, a celebration of Jim Beveridge's 30 years working in whisky. Before that, the John Walker Masters' Edition, was a whisky crafted using Scotch aged for a minimum of 50 years from distilleries that were operational during the lifetime of Johnnie Walker founder John Walker. All three are presented in a Baccarat crystal decanter within a bespoke oak cabinet.

For Johnnie Walker Masters ofFlavorr, Jim worked closely with his team of expert whisky makers, to hand select fleetingly rare expressions from the iconic "ghost" distilleries of Glyn Albyn, Port Dundas, Brora* andGlenorey Royal, balancing them perfectly together with the iconic distilleries ofCameron bridgee, Blair Athol andDelphininee.

Jim adds: "By nurturing close relationships with malt, distillation, and cask masters throughout Scotland, a blend master contributes to creating a unique collaboration of craftmanship in service of making exceptional Scotch, these are relationships that we have nurtured through 30 years of working in whisky. On the nose, Johnnie Walker Masters oFlavorur, has a soft and gentle smoke, reminiscent of seaweed and salty air, gives way to rich dried fruits. Notes of molasses linger with leather-bound books before smoke gently weaves back though the senses.

These aromas give way to rich fruiflavorsrs bursting with currants before a gentle spice starts to build on the palate. Cinnamon-infused apples combine with star anise, crushed peppercorn and warming oak embers, enveloped in waves of baked caramel and rich butterscotch before culminating in a gentle and warming smoke in the finish.

Johnnie Walker Masters OFlavorur has an ABV of 41.8% and a RRSP of GBP 20,000 in the UK (including duties and taxes).

* While a new, modern distillery has recently opened on the site of the old Brora distillery and is called Brora, the whiskies it will in time produce will be very different to those laid down decades ago in the original Brora Distillery that closed its doors in 1983.

BALTIMORE, Nov. 18, 2021 Sagamore Spirit released its first-ever Bottled in Bond rye whiskey at 50% ABV (100-proof) made entirely at its Baltimore distillery and barrel-aged for four years at its nearby rickhouse. It marks a milestone for the brand, established nearly a decade ago with a mission to revive Maryland's centuries-old reputation for rye whiskey distilling.

 

Sagamore Spirit Bottled in Bond blends two straight rye whiskies, one with a high-rye mash bill, the other low-rye, adhering to the same proprietary recipe that has defined all of Sagamore Spirit's award-winning releases since 2016. The result is true to Maryland's style of rye, first enjoyed in colonial times: approachable, versatile, and notably complex. The final profile showcases flavors of rye spice, toasty caramel, and fruit and floral notes.

On November 13th, visitors to the distillery lined up for hours to purchase a three-pack of Penny's Proof: Sagamore Spirit's signature 83-proof rye whiskey, distilled and aged for 4.5 years in Maryland. It marked the brand's third annual, limited edition Penny's Proof release. Each has given fans, known as Whiskey Thieves, early tastes of Sagamore Spirit's now fully mature Maryland rye, first at 2.5 years of age (2019), and then 3.5 years (2020). Each three-pack of 200ml bottles has been available at the price of one penny, paying tribute to the distillery's gleaming copper still: one to sip, another to share, the third to savour.

Scotch Whisky Investments unveils Glenlivet 80 years during luxury event MASTERS EXPO

SASSENHEIM, Netherlands, Nov. 19, 2021 - During the first day of MASTERS EXPO, a luxurious event that is annually held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Scotch Whisky investments unveiled the #1 decanter of the Gordon & MacPhail Generations 80 Years Old release. This 80-year-old Glenlivet is the longest matured and bottled whisky known to man and was recently acquired during an auction in Hong Kong by Scotch Whisky Investments for 166,000 euros.

This whisky from the Glenlivet Distillery was distilled on 3 February 1940 and has become a landmark in Scotland's liquid history. George Urquhart, from the second generation to own the company, had the foresight and vision to lay down spirit from Glenlivet Distillery in a bespoke Gordon & MacPhail oak cask to be enjoyed after his lifetime by future generations. Over the last eight decades, the cask has been cared for by the Gordon & MacPhail family and has finally been bottled through a collaboration with Sir David Adjaye OBE, an internationally acclaimed architect and designer.

Michel Kappen, CEO of the Dutch-based trading house Scotch Whisky Investments that is specialized in (Scotch) single malt whisky as an alternative and profitable investment, on his purchase of the first bottle: "Along with three of our investors, we were able to acquire this unique decanter containing the oldest single malt whisky in the world. It goes without saying that this '#1' will remain unopened, will get a special place in our office and will serve as a talking piece for anyone that is interested in investing in the Scottish 'water of life.'"

In all, 250 decanters have been bottled from the 80-year-old cask and are to be sold worldwide. Prices can vary but every bottle of this special Glenlivet 80-year-old is expected to be sold in the range of 110,000 to 120,000 euros.

California Founders Partner With Storied Kentucky House To Produce A Limited Rye Expression

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16, 2021 From Wine Country to the Bourbon Capital of the world, the flavors found in Volume One of The Rye Project are big. This highly-limited edition whiskey delivered in collaboration by California-based Wolves and Kentucky-rooted Willett Distillery is set to release at WolvesWhiskeyCA.com on December 6th, and in select markets this month.

"The Rye Project" is anchored by a very low-content (51%) rye whiskey distilled in Indiana, aged in new American oak for 6 years, then transplanted to Sonoma County for additional aging.

This initial low-rye whiskey was blended with additional Rye barrels selected from the renowned Willett Distillery.  The majority of the resulting blend is Willett's 6 and 7 year Rye.

To get there, Wolves Master Distiller Marko Karakasevic and Willett Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen selected 6 and 7 year old barrels of Willett straight rye whiskey with a 74% rye mash bill. The barrels were pulled from Willett warehouse A, South Rick 14, and warehouse H, South Rick 6.

"We want to deliver straightforward and balanced expressions of the best rye in the world, in a lower-rye format," explained Wolves Co-Founder Jon Buscemi. "We started from a place of sweet more than spice, and built from there."

"The depth and complexity of this rye whiskey is unique and consistent with the elite quality produced by the Willett house," noted Buscemi. "We liked what was happening at 103 proof and bottled Batch One there. We were very fortunate to partner with Drew for our first run of Rye. "

"The collaboration whiskey developed out of a friendship," noted Kulsveen. "I met the Wolves guys at a bourbon and cigar event in Bardstown a few years ago and our relationship grew from there.  The project was born out of the good times we've had together and will certainly fuel future celebrations. The Wolves team pays attention to every detail - down to the cork"

The custom cork top was inspired by the knob of a baseball bat that is a family heirloom of Jon Buscemi. The textured label was created in partnership with a bespoke wine label producer in Sonoma County.

"We wanted to deliver a rye on the low-rye side of the spectrum, and we didn't want to alter the spirit with a barrel finish. Find the best barrels, balance the blend," added Wolves CEO Jeremy Joseph.  "When you're working on a blend with Drew and Marko, your job is largely to get out of the way and let them do their thing.  These are two of the best in the game, and this product represents that."

The Texas Dry Gin is a traditional dry gin with a Texas twist, made using locally grown rosemary, pecans, bay laurel, Mexican mint marigold, and fresh Valley grapefruit zest, along with traditional gin botanicals such as juniper berries and coriander.
