Pine Bluffs Distilling Jolly Roger’s Second Sun Whiskey 50%-ABV, 750ml bottles.
About Pine Bluffs Distilling:
Pine Bluffs Distilling is a family-owned craft distillery in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, known for its "grain-to-glass" approach using 100% locally grown Wyoming grains. Founded in 2017, it was the first licensed distillery in Laramie County.
Farm-to-Flask Philosophy
The distillery operates with a focus on supporting the local agricultural community and maintaining a sustainable, transparent production process.
- Local Sourcing: Nearly all grains are sourced from within a 30-mile radius of the distillery, and early on, the grain traveled no more than 23 miles from the field to the still.
- On-Site Malting: Unlike many distilleries that purchase malts, Pine Bluffs Distilling malts their own grains on site to oversee the entire process.
- Sustainability: Located in a high-desert region, the distillery uses a 6,000-gallon water recycling system for its condensers and fermenters to minimize water waste.
- Waste Reduction: Spent distiller's mash and grain remnants are given to local ranchers and farmers to feed livestock, such as goats and chickens.
Signature Spirits
The distillery produces a wide range of spirits, many of which have won national awards for their quality and unique flavor profiles.
- Straight Rye Whiskey: A Double Gold winner at the 2025 American Distilling Institute International Spirits Competition, noted for its robust and spicy profile.
- Ryed Bourbon: A smooth, full-bodied bourbon that utilizes rye for a more complex palate.
- Oat Whiskey: A rare offering in the whiskey world, made using local oats.
- Special Releases: The Joe Pickett Bourbon is a limited-edition spirit inspired by the novels of Wyoming author C.J. Box.
- Other Spirits: The lineup also includes a citrus-forward gin that avoids traditional heavy juniper notes, as well as vodka and wheated bourbon.
Visiting and Experiences
The distillery serves as a community gathering point and a destination for travelers.
- Tasting Room: Located at 115 Bourbon St, the room features reclaimed snow fence wood and offers custom cocktails, whiskey flights, and bottle sales.
- Free Tours: Guided tours are available during regular business hours, allowing visitors to see the "chemistry set" style distillation equipment and aging barrels.
- Harvest Hosts: It is a popular Harvest Hosts location, welcoming hundreds of RV travelers annually to stay overnight in their parking lot.
- Barrel Pick Program: A program that allows customers to select and brand their own barrels for events or gifts.
