ROTHES, Scotland, Sept. 27, 2023- The Glen Grant Single Malt Scotch Whisky, located in the heart of Speyside, today reveals The Visionary, a one-of-a-kind release created exclusively for the Distillers One of One Auction on 5th October 2023.

The Visionary by The Glen Grant is a truly scarce and remarkable creation representing the only ever release of this unique 68-year-old whisky from a single cask.  Presented within a splendid Victoriana-influenced design reflecting a pivotal era in the history of the Glen Grant, this single malt is amongst one of the oldest whiskies ever to be released by the distillery.

The captivating tales of James 'The Major' Grant's worldly travels, serve as inspiration for each whisky nurtured and preserved at The Glen Grant distillery.  Driven by passion and curiosity, 'The Major's' explorations to faraway lands defined the formative era of this single malt, as he collected and preserved an exquisite array of exotic plants and flowers which he brought back to the glasshouses of the distillery in his beloved 27-acre Garden of Splendours.

In paying homage to this unrelenting passion and honouring a definitive legacy, The Glen Grant The Visionary 68-Years-Old captures the true spirit of 'The Major's' adventures, his vision and his commitment to nature and conservation.

Taking inspiration from the very vessels in which 'The Major' brought back his discoveries, the innovative hand -blown battuto-cut magnum decanter, another first for The Glen Grant, takes cues from rich Victoriana, including ornate plant stands and eccentric preservation jars.  The statuesque 1.6L decanter suspends the spirit within the glass structure as if it was itself a rare plant or flower. Housed within a period-inspired presentation case, similar to the traditional Victorian travel trunk which 'The Major' himself would have taken on his worldly adventures.

A precious stone Malachite stopper and base reflect the influence of copper, celebrating our taller-necked copper stills which capture a finer, gentler spirit cut that is bursting with orchard fruits to create our signature aromatic and evocative character defined by delicate fruity, floral, and nutty notes.

Matured in a single sherry cask number 835 and filled in 1955, this rare whisky captures hues of Autumn gold, reflective of leaves within the Gardens of Splendours.  At 68 Years Old, the aroma begins with soft ripe orchard fruits and merges seamlessly into buttery, toffee notes, with a delicate touch of smoke.  To taste, there is a good balance of fruity vanilla with sweet Sherry and the finish is rich and robust, making for a long and lasting mouthfeel defined by sweet dried fruits, a touch of spice and soft smokiness.

All proceeds from the Distillers One of One auction will be donated to The Distillers' Charity, which is transforming the life chances of young people in Scotland, by helping them to develop knowledge, confidence, resilience and skills to set them up for life and work. The Youth Action Fund - established by The Distillers' Charity with the support of Inspiring Scotland as a vehicle to distribute funds from the One of One Auctions - has assembled a panel of complementary charity partners, each providing expertise and experience, in achieving sustainable employability outcomes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Sotheby's has completed the sale of the first of the seven total decanters, each one-of-a-kind, and housing an exquisite 70-year-old single malt whisky, the oldest release from The Glen Grant distillery.

ROTHES, Scotland, Sept. 25, 2023  --  On Friday, The Glen Grant Distillery and Sotheby's announced the sale of The Glen Grant Devotion Decanter Number One for £81,250 ($101.3k). Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Royal Scottish Forestry Society, in support of the preservation of local woodland within the Speyside area. This auction, in partnership with Sotheby's, is the first of its kind for The Glen Grant distillery.

The Glen Grant Devotion is an exquisite 70-year-old single malt whisky, inspired by the remarkable reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and a tribute to her seventy years of resolute service and lifelong devotion. The Glen Grant Devotion Decanter Number One is the first of seven one-of-a-kind decanters presented in a sculptural masterpiece. Each unique piece represents one decade of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and of exquisite whisky maturation and has been created through the combined talents of Master Distiller Dennis Malcolm OBE and the distillery team, award-winning craftsman John Galvin and hot glass master Brodie Nairn of GLASSTORM.

"This record-breaking sale of the oldest whisky ever released from the distillery has marked a pinnacle moment for The Glen Grant," said Samantha Leotta, Global Director of Scotch Whisky at Campari Group. "It is a true testament to the skill and mastery of all those who contributed to this historic release, from The Glen Grant's founding to today. We are incredibly grateful to the successful bidder for this meaningful contribution to the Royal Scottish Forestry Society, which will be used to replant and restore woodland in Speyside."

Speaking on behalf of the Royal Scottish Forestry Society, President Wilma Harper said: "We are absolutely delighted at the success of the auction. The funds will be used to create a new native woodland on the burn beside the Glen Grant distillery, creating a direct link back to the 1876 passion of James "The Major" Grant in protecting the banks of the Back Burn and sustaining the quality of its water. We are grateful to The Glen Grant for this support for our Society, of which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was the patron, in its continuing work nurturing future generations of foresters, passing knowledge and craftsmanship on to future generations."

Jonny Fowle, Global Head of Spirits, Sotheby's, said: "This result propels The Glen Grant into the highest level of collectability at a value that only very few distilleries have previously achieved."

The remaining six decanters will be made available for sale within USA and Asia. Prices are available upon request from October 2023.

TAIPEI, Sept. 26, 2023-- Kavalan has been named the "World Whisky Producer of the Year" at the International Spirits Challenge 2023, marking the fourth consecutive win for the Taiwanese distiller. This recognition was awarded at the ISC Annual Awards Dinner in London, acknowledging Kavalan as the best-performing drinks producer in its category.

Kavalan Distillery is 75 percent of the way through construction on its Third Maturation Warehouse, a pivotal expansion set to significantly boost Taiwan's premier whisky maker's maturation capacity.

King Car Group CEO Mr YT Lee said the new maturation warehouse marks a significant leap forward and would support Kavalan's global expansion aspirations. 

"In this exciting phase of Kavalan's expansion, we're blessed with the island's subtropical climate, which not only helps age our whisky faster with enhanced complexity but also enables us to explore more experimental casks, unlocking greater possibilities for innovation in our whisky-making process."

Kavalan's full production capacity is 10 million bottles following the commissioning of its Second Distillery in December 2016, which increased the pairs of copper stills to 10.

The new warehouse will combine a mix of palletized and dunnage warehousing. The largest butts are placed in dunnage style on higher floors, on their sides. Small barrels are placed upright and tightly strapped together on the lower floor to withstand Yilan's notorious seismic activity. As with all Kavalan warehouses, it will avoid climate control, except for the throwing open of windows and doors to increase circulation.

As domestic and international tourism gradually picks up, Kavalan Distillery is expected to reach pre pandemic levels of 800,000 visits once again. Kavalan Distillery has received awards, including "Double Gold" and "Gold," for its Distillery Visitor Center and Distillery Tour, as well as 4 "Gold" awards for the following whiskies:

HAMILTON, Bermuda, Sept. 7, 2023 ANGEL'S ENVY the Louisville-based distiller that produces finished whiskeys, today announced the expansion of their 10th annual Toast the Trees initiative to include urban tree canopy restoration in U.S. cities. Launched in 2014 and celebrated annually each September in honor of U.S. National Bourbon Heritage Month, Toast the Trees is ANGEL'S ENVY'S initiative to demonstrate the importance of sustainability within the bourbon industry as well as raise awareness of the importance of forests and the increased need for a healthy and secure White Oak tree population. Since the program's founding, ANGEL'S ENVY, in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, has planted nearly 300,000 trees.

In addition to continued reforestation efforts across the U.S., ANGEL'S ENVY and the Arbor Day Foundation will plant trees in public spaces and under-served residential areas in 10 cities this fall to support urban tree canopy restoration efforts. The cities include Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Louisville, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Nashville. Each project location meets socioeconomic and environmental criteria to be classified as an area of need and was identified by the Arbor Day Foundation as a high priority. These communities will be the project sites of planting events facilitated by the Arbor Day Foundation and its network of local tree-planting organizations.

To raise awareness for the initiative, ANGEL'S ENVY invites consumers to plant "virtual trees" through a new digital AR experience to support the growing need for trees in urban centers. The top five participating cities with the most virtually planted trees at the end of September (9/30/2023) will receive real trees planted by ANGEL'S ENVY and the Arbor Day Foundation in 2024.

In addition to lowering surface and air temperatures, trees planted in urban environments help to create a significant impact as they reduce pollution, improve water quality, and strengthen neighborhood pride and social connections among residents. Investing in urban canopy restoration is critical as socioeconomic disparities become increasingly prominent, with over 70 percent of low-income and non-white Americans living in nature-deprived areas.

So when homing in on a location to age our first Jefferson's Tropics Aged in Humidity™ release, we knew we needed to be near the equator, where the heat and humidity would be year-round and intense. Singapore - one of my bucket list travel destinations - was absolutely perfect for this experiment," said Zoeller. "The result is a remarkable bourbon, one that further reinforces my belief that terroir for whiskey comes from the environment that the bourbon matures in rather than the ground from which the grains are grown. The Jefferson's Tropics Aged in Humidity series embodies the result of this with its richness and complexity - we can't wait for you to experience it firsthand."

The journey to create this special liquid was a wild one. Nine containers with a combined capacity of 720 barrels of fully matured Kentucky straight bourbon set sail for Singapore via an ocean ship in July 2019, marking the start of the journey. Following that journey, these barrels were exposed to Singapore's severe heat and humidity for an astounding 18 months resulting in a bourbon that is intensely caramelized and steeped with flavor. The extreme heat essentially slow cooks and caramelizes the sugars in the wood.

The containers finally made their way back to Kentucky in March 2023, where Zoeller evaluated and selected the ideal flavor profile and proof point. The result is a harmoniously blended bourbon that boasts aromatic baking spices on the nose, notes of bing cherry, toffee, and sea salt, and a long, textured, full-bodied finish.

LONDON, Aug. 31, 2023 Chivas Brothers, the Pernod Ricard business dedicated to Scotch whisky, today announces its FY23 (July 2022 – June 2023) full-year performance with net sales up +17%, taking total sales to a ten-year high. The results demonstrate ongoing strong global demand for Scotch and reinforce the company's long-term premiumisation strategy.

Alongside this positive growth, Chivas Brothers also announces more than £60 million in planned investment over the next three years to accelerate its energy and carbon reduction journeys to achieve carbon neutral distillation by the end of 2026. It follows the company's move to make its heat recovery technology learnings open source for the industry, after proving successful at Glentauchers distillery, with a 53% reduction in carbon emissions at this site alone.

Historic highs for strategic brands in must-win global markets, including US and India

The growth of the company's strategic brands has been enhanced by Chivas Brothers' strong and balanced global footprint, underpinned by a demand for Prestige products, which have outpaced growth of the total brand portfolio over FY22 and FY23.

Chivas Regal celebrated global growth of +25%, with impressive performance in markets such as India and Japan. The brand's success was driven by its core aged range, with Chivas Regal 18 the leading 18-year old blended Scotch globally by both volume and value in calendar year 2022 according to IWSR Drinks Market Analysis 20221. Chivas Regal was also the leading contributor to Pernod Ricard Group growth in FY23.

Ballantine's grew by +13% in FY23, driven by particularly strong growth in its prestige range, which exceeded that of the total Prestige and Prestige Plus Scotch category, according to IWSR in 20222. Ballantine's 21 and Ballantine's 17 have been the key drivers alongside Ballantine's Finest, with the Asia region excelling during this fiscal.

Royal Salute recorded a significant +32%, growing ahead of the Prestige and Prestige Plus Scotch category by both value and volume in 20223, as the brand continues to elevate through exclusive luxury releases such as the Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III Edition. It showed particularly strong growth in the US, along with double digit growth in core Asian markets including Korea, India and the Taiwan Market.

The Glenlivet continues its upward trajectory with +9% growth and was the best-selling single malt by volume in 2022, according to the IWSR4, setting the brand in strong stead for its 200 year anniversary in 2024. This has been driven by significant demand for its Super Premium and Ultra Premium ranges in an already competitive category, with balanced growth across the brand's global footprint.

Specialty brand Aberlour, part of the broader Chivas Brothers single malt brand portfolio, also grew +11% in the highly competitive malts category.

Strength of footprint increasing across the globe

The Asia region has been particularly robust, with +21% growth in FY23, and the number one contributor to growth overall. India (+27%), South Korea (+19%), Japan (+28%) and Greater China (+7%) have also seen exceptionally strong performances and are driving demand with new Scotch audiences.

The North American market has seen stellar growth in a highly saturated market, with +8% growth. The US and Canada saw 8% and 7% growth respectively.

Chivas Brothers' financial results have supported its custodian role in shaping and protecting the future of whisky with a number of significant investments, including today's announcement of more than £60 million in planned investment to implement heat recovery technologies and install electric boilers across viable distilleries.

While driving down its carbon footprint, Chivas Brothers will also invest in strategic inventory management, ensuring a future-fit model that continues to meet the demand for its Scotch whiskies around the world.

Joe Montana Partners with Gold Bar Whiskey to Launch Limited-Edition Whiskey Collection

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 31, 2023Football legend Joe Montana announced a new partnership with The Gold Bar Spirits Company, makers of the award winning Gold Bar Whiskey. A true collaboration, The Gold Bar Spirits Company and Joe Montana will release the Joe Montana Whiskey Collection in September. This special edition whiskey release will roll out via Gold Bar's distribution partner Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits. Gold Bar Whiskey's Joe Montana Blend No.273:
The Collection launches with Blend No. 273, a triple casked American whiskey with a three grain mash bill of (corn, rye and barley), bottled at 82 proof. Blend No. 273 is first double casked in red wine barrels and then triple casked in cognac barrels and raked over toasted oak staves. The result is a delicious whiskey with deep notes of fruit, deep spice and berries.

Beyond the liquid, many details have been incorporated to make this a true collectors' whiskey. Blend No. 273 represents the number of Joe Montana's total career touchdown passes. The artwork on the bottle incorporates the 49ers throwback 1970s/80s oval logo and Joe's signature. The illustration depicting Joe's historic touchdown celebration in Super Bowl XXIV was created by a 49ers superfan and artist, Rita Oak. Blend #273 has an MSRP of $59.99.
