Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey Wants to Offer Fans A Grade 'A' Lesson This St. PADDY'S Day

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey Wants to Offer Fans A Grade 'A' Lesson This St. PADDY'S Day

Renowned Butcher Pat LaFrieda Teams Up With World's Second Largest Irish Whiskey to Create the Ultimate St. Paddy's Day Patty; Tullamore D.E.W. Also Announces New Advertising Campaign "An Unwavering Whiskey in a Crazy World"

TULLAMORE, Ireland, March 9, 2022 St. Patrick's Day is around the corner, and – with nearly 200 St. Paddy's Days under their belt – your friends at Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey know a thing or two about celebrating the holiday….and how to actually spell it. Year in and year out, Americans seem to get it wrong, opting for the use of the double T instead of the double D. This year, Tullamore D.E.W. is setting out to change that…with an appetizing partnership.

To offer a tasty spelling lesson, Tullamore D.E.W. has partnered with acclaimed American butcher Pat LaFrieda to create the ultimate St. Paddy's Day Patty to help fans from making the common spelling mistake between a meat patty and Ireland's national holiday. The specialty St. Paddy's Day Patty is made up of a proprietary blend created by Pat LaFrieda himself and inspired by Tullamore D.E.W.

"Every March, we produce around 5 million burger patties so when Tullamore D.E.W. came to us to help teach Americans about the proper spelling between Patty and Paddy, we knew we could help," said Pat LaFrieda, Owner & CEO of Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors. "There are four generations of Patrick's in our family and it all started with my grandfather who was born on March 17th. St. Paddy's Day is always a festive holiday for us and with whiskey and burgers being the perfect pairing, we're thrilled to release our first St. Paddy's Day Patty alongside Tullamore D.E.W.," he continued.

Beginning March 10th, 193 kits will be made available on LaFrieda.com for a price of $84.99 (+ shipping), nodding to the 193-year history behind the Tullamore D.E.W. brand. Each St. Paddy's Day Patty includes two Tullamore D.E.W. ceramic shot glasses, one beanie, drink recipe card, Drizly code** to order a bottle of Tullamore D.E.W. to your door and 12 8oz meat patties. This way, you can celebrate the green holiday with a perfect pairing of Pat's patties and Tully's D.E.W. & A Brew serve created by Tullamore D.E.W. ambassador and Cork, Ireland native Gillian Murphy.

The St. Paddy's Day Patty coincides with the U.S. launch of Tullamore D.E.W.'s new brand platform and advertising campaign "An Unwavering Whiskey in a Crazy World." The campaign aims to highlight the refreshingly, unwavering world of the brand's hometown, Tullamore, Ireland. The local townspeople take center stage, featured in all of the brand's new advertising materials which is going live on OOH and digital channels across the U.S. in the lead-up to St. Patrick's Day.

"This St Patrick's Day we wanted to create something unique that speaks to our rich Irish heritage, but also our witty spirit," said Conor Neville, Senior Brand Manager, Tullamore D.E.W.  "That very personality and character is at the core of this new campaign. Being from Tullamore, a small town in the heart of Ireland, lets us go far and wide without forgetting who we are. Through the latest advertising executions, we are on a mission to playfully remind folks what truly matters, and what doesn't."

Innis & Gunn and Tullamore D.E.W. Combine Scots and Irish Craftsmanship to Launch New Limited Edition Irish Whiskey Barrel Aged Stout

Innis & Gunn and Tullamore D.E.W. To Launch New Limited Edition Irish Whiskey Barrel Aged Stout

EDINBURGH, Scotland, February 19, 2018 Two pioneers of craft brewing and distilling, Innis & Gunn and Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey, have collaborated for the first time to create Kindred Spirits, a limited edition Scottish stout aged using triple distilled Irish whiskey barrels.

Using a unique barrel ageing process developed by the brewing team at Innis & Gunn, Kindred Spirits is matured using the finest triple distilled, triple blend Irish whiskey barrels from Tullamore D.E.W. to create a smooth and delicious Scottish Stout that is greater than the sum of its parts.

The result is a one of a kind craft stout - a perfect pairing of the character of Innis & Gunn's rich flavour packed beer, and the sweet, spicy, smooth taste of Tullamore D.E.W., with notes of dark chocolate and coffee alongside hints of vanilla and oak in the 6.1% ABV brew.

To mark their special collaboration, Kindred Spirits celebrates the rich part that music plays in both Scottish and Irish culture, as much as whiskey and beer, by bringing together one of each country's finest musical exports to collaborate on a cover of a traditional Scottish folk song.  Irish band Ash and Scotland's Frightened Rabbit met over a Kindred Spirits in Innis & Gunn's hometown of Edinburgh to create the Kindred Sessions, now available to watch at https://youtu.be/Opv7UCds_fMInnis & Gunn and Tullamore D.E.W. To Launch New Limited Edition Irish Whiskey Barrel Aged Stout

Dougal Gunn Sharp, Innis & Gunn's founder and master brewer, commented:

"The Scots and Irish share a powerful Celtic connection in our culture and our character, a bond that draws us together with Tullamore D.E.W. A brew that is greater than the sum of its parts, Kindred Spirits is a celebration of the best of Scots and Irish craftsmanship, and in our partnership using our unique barrel into beer ageing process with Tullamore's legendary Irish whiskey barrels, it has sparked the creation of an exciting and unique flavour packed alternative to the usual stouts."

John Quinn, Tullamore D.E.W. Global Brand Ambassador, commented:

"Our partnership with Innis & Gunn brings us closer to a brand that shares our passion for innovation and creating products of exceptional quality and character. Beer and whiskey have always been 'malt cousins' because malted barley is a key ingredient in both, and we celebrate this unique bond through D.E.W. and a Brew - the pairing of Tullamore D.E.W. with great craft beers like Kindred Spirits for an evening full of true character."

Kindred Spirits is available now in the UK and Ireland, US, Canada, Sweden, France, Australia, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Singapore.

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey's "Beauty of Blend" Campaign Makes Global Debut in the U.S.

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey's "Beauty of Blend" Campaign Makes Global Debut in the U.S.NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2017 On September 19th, Tullamore D.E.W. – the world's second largest Irish whiskey – premiered a new global advertising platform, "Beauty of Blend," which will be its most extensive international communications campaign to date. Debuting in the U.S. at New York's Lower East Side Tenement Museum, the "Beauty of Blend" campaign includes television and digital advertising, an ongoing social media campaign, micro-site, events and influencer programming.

Tullamore D.E.W.'s "Beauty of Blend" campaign references the unique triple blend of pot still, malt and grain whiskeys that make up Tullamore D.E.W. Original. Triple distilled and triple blended for sweetness and strength, Tullamore D.E.W. was the first and remains one of the few Irish whiskeys to pioneer this blend of three, which results in a smoother Irish whiskey with an added complexity.

Following Tullamore D.E.W.'s award winning 2013 short film, "The Parting Glass," the "Beauty of Blend" campaign launches with a new film entitled "Danny Boy." The new content was created by New York agency Opperman Weiss and directed by Laurence Dunmore who also collaborated on "The Parting Glass." "Danny Boy" implicitly celebrates cultural diversity in a way that is aspirational, authentically Irish and distinctly sociable.

"Tullamore D.E.W. is built on blend. It runs through every bottle of our original triple blend Irish whiskey. There are numerous examples in the worlds of food, music and beyond where something beautiful has been created because of the blending of different cultures or ideas, and we think that is worth celebrating," said Tullamore D.E.W. Global Brand Director Caspar MacRae. "'Beauty of Blend' celebrates our belief in the spirit of blend – from the original triple blend in our Irish whiskey to the blending of cultures, rooted in our historic association with Irish emigrants around the world."

"As the world's second largest Irish whiskey brand, Tullamore D.E.W. is proud of its heritage and blend of flavors, and wants to encourage our fans to explore their own unique blend and heritage," added John Quinn, Global Ambassador for Tullamore D.E.W. "Put simply, the campaign celebrates the unique spirit of the blend – in our whiskey and in our world."'

The 45 second television spot will air for 12 weeks over fall/winter in key markets including Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Ft Worth, Denver, Green Bay-Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee, Orlando-Daytona Beach, Tampa-St. Pete-Sarasota, Philadelphia, San Diego and Seattle. Late night television will be the focus including The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Late Night with Seth Myers and Saturday Night Live.

To celebrate the launch of "Beauty of Blend" and the fact that no-one is 100% from one place, Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey is partnering with MyHeritage DNA, the leading global destination for family history and DNA testing, to gift DNA kits to those interested in discovering their own unique blend of ethnicities and countries. The very special kits will be given away through a gifting program and the Tullamore D.E.W. social channels in the coming months.

Additionally, through the digital #IAMBLEND campaign, Tullamore D.E.W. will encourage people from around the world to share their personal blend stories through social media and via www.iamblend.com.

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey toasts the opening of the Tullamore Distillery

image

NEW YORK, Sept. 17, 2014- Tullamore D.E.W., the world's second largest Irish whiskey today celebrated the opening of its new $50 million distillery in its hometown of Tullamore in the Irish midlands.  As the first spirit flowed from the stills, to the cheers of hundreds of invited guests, the milestone marked the return of whiskey production to the town, 60 years after the original distillery closed its doors.

"This is a true 'Parting Glass' moment for Tullamore D.E.W., as we raise a glass to celebrate the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our 185 year history," said Tullamore D.E.W. Senior Brand Manager Cindy Wang.  "Irish whiskey is the fastest growing spirits category in the world right now and our new distillery will enable us to meet our production needs over the coming decades."

The new distillery marks a particularly exciting moment for the U.S. market as Irish whiskey continues to be the fastest growing spirit domestically with over 18% growth in the past three years. Under the guidance of the independent family-owned distiller William Grant & Sons, Tullamore D.E.W. grew over 20.6% in 2013 alone. Stateside, the brand will be celebrating the opening with a commemorative event in New York City, complete with a barrel signing led by Patrick Williams, great-grandson of Tullamore D.E.W. founder, Daniel E. Williams. The adorned barrel will be shipped back to Tullamore where it will then be filled and laid to rest to age in the new distillery alongside a similar barrel signed at the Tullamore celebration.

"This new distillery brings Tullamore D.E.W. back to its origins. We are incredibly proud of the Tullamore Distillery and know that its opening has been awaited with great anticipation.  We look forward to building on our success to date and helping new fans all around the world discover the magic of Tullamore D.E.W." said Tim Herlihy, Tullamore D.E.W. National Brand Ambassador.

To commemorate the rising of the distillery, Tullamore D.E.W. unveiled the very limited release of 2014 bottles of Tullamore D.E.W. Celebratory Phoenix Single Batch, an exclusive expression of the Tullamore D.E.W. Phoenix range.  The Phoenix is a highly appropriate symbol for the town of Tullamore and Tullamore D.E.W. It is featured on the town's coat of arms honoring the courageous rebuilding after it was largely destroyed by fire following a devastating hot air balloon accident in 1785 and is a symbol of resilience, optimism and progress; attributes that have led to the opening of Tullamore Distillery.

The Tullamore Distillery features four hand crafted copper stills, designed to resemble the original stills from the old distillery; six brew house fermenters each with a 34,000 liter capacity; and warehouse storage for 100,000 casks.  Tullamore Distillery draws the finest natural Irish water from the nearby Slieve Bloom Mountains and will be capable of producing the equivalent of 1.5 million cases of Tullamore D.E.W. annually.

About Tullamore D.E.W.
Tullamore D.E.W. is the second largest Irish whiskey in the world in the fastest growing category. It has been widely acclaimed by whiskey connoisseurs, most recently winning a Gold Medal at the 2014 International Spirits Challenge for Tullamore D.E.W. Original. Additionally Tullamore D.E.W. 10 Year Single Malt won the Chairman's Trophy (highest award) for best Single Malt Irish Whiskey at the 2013 Ultimate Spirits Competition and Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Old Special Reserve won the Double Gold Medal at the 2013 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

With an intriguing smooth yet complex character, Tullamore D.E.W. is triple distilled, but is also a unique blend of all three types of Irish whiskeys; the pot still, malt and grain whiskeys. As a result, Tullamore D.E.W. is three times smoother with an added gentle complexity. Tullamore D.E.W. was the first and remains one of the few international Irish whiskey to pioneer this blend of three.

Created in 1829, the brand's strong heritage started in Tullamore, a town in the heart of Ireland, and was fostered by the vision of an early founder Daniel E. Williams, whose initials live on the bottle to this day. True to its heritage, a new distillery is now being built in the town of Tullamore to bringing Tullamore D.E.W. back to its roots.

Tullamore D.E.W. is best enjoyed to taste, but we recommend neat, on the rocks or served long with ginger beer, fresh lime juice and a dash of bitters in a Tullamore Irish Mule.

From Shanken:

Aiming to extend its upswing and raise its profile in the U.S.  market, Tullamore Dew has unveiled new packaging that’s now hitting U.S.  store shelves. Tullamore Dew’s new bottle design emphasizes the  heritage of the brand throughout the design by giving founder Daniel E.  Williams’ initials “D.E.W.” more prominence within the product name.  Additionally, “1829”, the year the original Tullamore distillery was  founded, is embossed on the package.

Since acquiring Tullamore Dew in 2010, William Grant & Sons has  made a concerted effort to accelerate the brand’s growth in the U.S. The  new packaging follows last year’s launch of Tullamore Dew’s “Irish  True” ad campaign in the market. “Tullamore Dew is a brand that hasn’t  had a clear point of view or a lot of investment behind it,” William  Grant & Sons North America managing director Simon Hunt recently  told Shanken News Daily. “We’ve increased that investment and started  communicating the concept of ‘Irish True’—which goes to the heart of  what Tullamore Dew is all about.”

While it’s the second-largest Irish whiskey brand worldwide,  Tullamore Dew is dwarfed by both market leader Jameson and second-ranked  Bushmills in the U.S.—the world’s biggest Irish whiskey market. Even  after years of solid growth, Tullamore Dew’s yearly sales are still well  shy of 100,000 cases. Last year, the brand rose by 7% to 76,000 cases
