The Devils River Whiskey ownership group is looking to expand distribution across the entire country. "Our goal is to be in more than 30 states by the end of 2019," said Devils River Whiskey's President and co-founder Mike Cameron. Industry veteran John Potts recently joined the Devils River Whiskey leadership team as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Potts is a Texas native with a strong track record of recruiting, building, and leading national sales teams. He was one of the original members of the Deep Eddy Vodka team and was instrumental in leading the brand from launch through its eventual sale to Heaven Hill. Prior to leading the Deep Eddy team, Mr. Potts held multiple leadership roles at Republic National Distributing Company. "I'm thrilled to be leading sales and marketing for this ambitious undertaking," said Potts.

Senior Vice President of Marketing Eric Hundelt was one of the first employees hired by Devils River Whiskey and is continuing to drive the Devils River Whiskey's marketing efforts across the country. Prior to joining Devils River Whiskey, Hundelt held a variety of senior level sales and marketing roles with brands like Angels Envy, Bacardi and Cabo Wabotequila. The sales team will be divided into five regions. Matt Thornton was hired as Regional Vice President of the Texas Region. Brendon Walsh will serve as Regional Vice President of the Northeast Region. Rick Perez will lead sales in the south as the Regional Vice President of the Southeast Region.  The company will be announcing appointments for the Midwest and West regions in the very near future.

In anticipation for the expected growth, the company will be opening its San Antonio based distillery in October 2019.  "We are in the processes of renovating the first two floors of the Burns building located at 401 E Houston Street. Built in 1918, the Burns building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. "We are excited to be part of San Antonio'sdowntown revitalization as our distillery and visitor's center will be in the heart of downtown San Antonio, blocks from the Alamo," said Cameron.

    Featuring two :30 second videos, created and produced by Mob Scene, the campaign stars Falahee – a guy who tells it like it is and does not mess around when it comes to the pronunciation of both his last name and Oban. "My last name seems to really stump people – I always get that unsure glance but it's not that difficult to say. When I learned about the 'It's Pronounced OH-Bin' campaign, I laughed because I so easily relate to the concept. Plus, I've always had an appreciation for quality scotch and Oban is my whisky of choice.     Nevada's Bently Heritage Estate Distillery Tasting Room Opens to the Public

    Historic Minden Flour Mill, now the Bently Heritage Estate DistilleryMINDEN, Nev., Feb. 4, 2019 The Bently Heritage tasting room will open to the public on Saturday February 9, 2019. The distillery is expecting a high volume of traffic on its opening weekend, with tours offered through the reservation system at bentlyheritage.com. The cost of a tour is $20; tastings are $10. The tasting room hours of operation will be from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Thursdays, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Sundays. Tours will generally run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

    Historic Minden Flour Mill, now the Bently Heritage Estate Distillery

    The distillery's home, which is currently pursuing LEED Gold certification, was the site of the century-old and historic Minden Flour Mill, a local landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Owners Christopher and Camille Bently have lovingly restored the historic building to state-of-the art standards, creating an important landmark which will be a source of pride for Minden, Carson Valley, and all of Nevada.

    Bently Heritage Estate Distillery uses 100% of its grains from those grown on the operation at the Bently Ranch. Winter rye, oats, wheat, corn, and barley are milled on-site and malted in-house on the malting floor. The distillery's Mill Building creates single malt whisky using handmade Forsyths pot stills that were imported from Scotland. The distillery's Creamery Building distills vodka and gin, using carl pot stills imported from Germany. Bently Heritage has also begun the process of oak barrel aging their single malt, bourbon, and rye for future releases.

    Three spirit offerings are included in the first Bently Heritage release: Source One Single Estate Vodka, Source One Vodka Rested in Oak Sherry Casks, and Juniper Grove American Dry Gin. All products are sold in 750ml bottles for between $32and $40. Bently Heritage whiskies are currently aging in barrels and will be available in the future.

    Whisky Magazine Names Kentucky Peerless Craft Producer of the Year

    Corky Taylor - Peerless Craft Producer of the Year AwardLOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 5, 2019 Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company received Whisky Magazine's Craft Producer of the Year Award on January 30. Whisky Magazine narrowed it down from over 900 nominations to 20 craft distilleries from all across the world.

    Peerless Fourth Generation and owner Corky Taylor was at the awards ceremony to receive the honor. Taylor said, "When they played the music for me to walk up there, I can't tell you how excited I was to get up there and shake the man's hand and tell him how honored I was to receive this award."

    Master Blender Ian Chang said there were plenty of extra opportunities to taste Kavalan in more depth. The customised Tasting Lounge has a luxury whisky bar, where expert guides will take visitors on a "taste journey" through a choice of four of Kavalan expressions, depending on their preferred tastes and textures.

"We took a page from that book and chose to let this limited release rest for an extended finishing period in Oloroso sherry barrels, lengthening the oxidation process for a sophisticated level of flavor.     Before entering the Oloroso Sherry casks, the bourbon was aged for 4-9 years. It was then finished in Oloroso Sherry casks between two and three years. At 100-proof, ANGEL'S ENVY Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks has a sweet nose with hints of raisin and hazelnut. It hits the palate as oak forward with a distinct dryness from the sherry, as well as vanilla and caramel with a finish that shifts from sweetness to lingering floral.
