Michael Couvreur Overaged Malt Whiskey Matured In Sherry Oak Casks
43%-ABV, 700ml bottles.
About Michael Couvreur Whiskey:

Michel Couvreur is a renowned Belgian independent bottler based in Burgundy, France, who pioneered "French-aged" whisky by maturing Scottish distillates in high-quality Sherry casks. Known as a "whisky artist," Couvreur focused on blending and aging in deep, humid caves, producing complex, sherried, and often smoky whiskies that blend Scottish tradition with French refinement.

Key Aspects of Michel Couvreur Whisky:

  • The Process: While based in Burgundy, the whiskies (both malt and grain) are sourced from Scotland, then matured in rare Sherry casks (often Pedro Ximénez) in French caves, a process designed to highlight the interaction between wood and spirit.
  • Legacy: After Michel Couvreur's passing in 2013, the business is continued by his family (wife Alexandra and son-in-law Cyril Deschamps) and his long-time apprentice, Jean-Arnaud.
  • Signature Styles:
    • Overaged Malt Whisky: The flagship, high-end blend (12–27 years old) known for its deep nuttiness and dark walnut color.
    • The Unique: A blend of malted and unmalted barley, offering a lighter, smooth entry-level option.
    • Candid Malt Whisky: A peated expression that balances, smoke with sherry sweetness.
  • Flavor Profile: The whiskies are frequently described as having a "vinous" or Armagnac-like quality, with prominent notes of dried fruits, nuts, and saltiness.

Following his passing, the production continues to be guided by a philosophy that prioritizes the quality of the cask to create a truly "handmade" spirit.

  • Glenfiddich 18 Year Old: A more refined expression married in small batches, offering deeper notes of dried fruit and baked apple.
  • Experimental Series: Includes unique releases like the IPA Cask Finish (finished in craft beer casks) and Winter Storm (finished in French oak ice wine casks).

Pine Bluffs Distilling Jolly Roger’s Second Sun Whiskey
50%-ABV, 750ml bottles.
About Pine Bluffs Distilling:

Pine Bluffs Distilling is a family-owned craft distillery in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, known for its "grain-to-glass" approach using 100% locally grown Wyoming grains. Founded in 2017, it was the first licensed distillery in Laramie County.

Farm-to-Flask Philosophy

The distillery operates with a focus on supporting the local agricultural community and maintaining a sustainable, transparent production process.

  • Local Sourcing: Nearly all grains are sourced from within a 30-mile radius of the distillery, and early on, the grain traveled no more than 23 miles from the field to the still.
  • On-Site Malting: Unlike many distilleries that purchase malts, Pine Bluffs Distilling malts their own grains on site to oversee the entire process.
  • Sustainability: Located in a high-desert region, the distillery uses a 6,000-gallon water recycling system for its condensers and fermenters to minimize water waste.
  • Waste Reduction: Spent distiller's mash and grain remnants are given to local ranchers and farmers to feed livestock, such as goats and chickens.

Signature Spirits

The distillery produces a wide range of spirits, many of which have won national awards for their quality and unique flavor profiles.

  • Straight Rye Whiskey: A Double Gold winner at the 2025 American Distilling Institute International Spirits Competition, noted for its robust and spicy profile.
  • Ryed Bourbon: A smooth, full-bodied bourbon that utilizes rye for a more complex palate.
  • Oat Whiskey: A rare offering in the whiskey world, made using local oats.
  • Special Releases: The Joe Pickett Bourbon is a limited-edition spirit inspired by the novels of Wyoming author C.J. Box.
  • Other Spirits: The lineup also includes a citrus-forward gin that avoids traditional heavy juniper notes, as well as vodka and wheated bourbon.

The distillery serves as a community gathering point and a destination for travelers.

  • Tasting Room: Located at 115 Bourbon St, the room features reclaimed snow fence wood and offers custom cocktails, whiskey flights, and bottle sales.
  • Free Tours: Guided tours are available during regular business hours, allowing visitors to see the "chemistry set" style distillation equipment and aging barrels.

Maker’s Mark 2026 Reds Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
      45%-ABV, 750ml bottles.
      About Maker’s Mark:

Maker's Mark is a premium, small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon whisky known for its signature hand-dipped red wax seal and a smooth, approachable flavor profile. Founded in 1953 by Bill Samuels Sr., it famously replaces traditional rye grain with soft red winter wheat to eliminate the "burn" often associated with other bourbons.

      Key Characteristics

      • Wheated Mash Bill: The recipe consists of 70% corn, 16% soft red winter wheat, and 14% malted barley. The use of wheat instead of rye results in a sweeter, mellower taste.
      • Aged to Taste: Unlike most distilleries that age for a set number of years, Maker's Mark is aged until expert tasters determine it is ready, typically between 5.5 to 7 years.
      • Hand-Rotated Barrels: It is the only major distillery that manually rotates every 525-pound barrel from the upper to the lower levels of the rackhouse to ensure consistent maturation across all batches.
      • Signature Branding: Every bottle is hand-dipped in red wax at the distillery in Loretto, Kentucky, meaning no two bottles have the exact same drip pattern.

      Core Product Lineup

      • Maker's Mark Bourbon: The flagship expression, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). It features notes of vanilla, caramel, and fruit with a smooth finish.
      • Maker's Mark 46: The first new major product in 60 years, it is finished with seared French oak staves for added complexity, spice, and deep vanilla richness.
      • Maker's Mark Cask Strength: A bold, uncut version bottled at barrel proof (typically 107–114 proof), amplifying the signature flavors of dark cherry and toasted oak.
      • Maker's Mark 101: A higher-proof limited release (101 proof) that offers a richer, creamier mouthfeel with bold spice and ripe fruit notes.

      History and Heritage

      • The Samuels Family: Bill Samuels Sr. famously burned his family's 170-year-old recipe in 1953 to start fresh with a smoother formula.
      • Margie Samuels' Legacy: Bill's wife, Margie, is credited with creating the brand name, the bottle shape, the label design, and the iconic red wax seal. She was the first woman directly involved with a distillery to be inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame.
      • Distillery Location: Produced at Star Hill Farm in Loretto, Kentucky, the distillery is a National Historic Landmark and uses its own limestone-filtered water source.

      Sustainability Initiatives

Maker's Mark is a Certified B Corp, emphasizing environmental responsibility through several programs:

      • Regenerative Farming: 86% of their grains currently come from growers practicing regenerative agriculture.

Olde St. Nick Distilling Very Olde St. Nick Superfreak 10 Year Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey
      51.35%-ABV 2.0L.
      About Olde St. Nick Distilling:

Olde St. Nick Distilling, primarily known for the Very Olde St. Nick (VOSN) brand, is a cult-status whiskey producer currently operating out of Preservation Distillery + Farm in Bardstown, Kentucky. Founded in 1986 by Marci Palatella, the brand built its reputation by sourcing and bottling rare, long-aged bourbon and rye whiskies, originally almost exclusively for the Japanese export market.

      History and Origins

The brand's history is steeped in "whiskey lore" due to its early associations with legendary Kentucky figures.

      • Early Bottling: In the 1980s, Marci Palatella collaborated with Julian Van Winkle III, who bottled the first releases at the Old Commonwealth facility in Lawrenceburg, KY.
      • Transition to Willett: When Van Winkle's older stocks ran low, production moved to the Willett Distillery (Kentucky Bourbon Distillers) under Even Kulsveen, where much of the whiskey was sourced from Heaven Hill.
      • Modern Era: In 2018, Palatella's company, Allied Lomar, opened Preservation Distillery, providing the brand with its own physical home for the first time.

      Production and Distilling

The brand is distinguished by its unconventional, small-batch approach.

      • Micro-Batching: Most releases are produced in extremely limited runs of only 1 to 3 barrels.
      • Sourcing and Aging: While Preservation now distills its own spirit using a small pot still, current Very Olde St. Nick releases typically feature vintage sourced stocks, some of which were "tanked" (stored in stainless steel) years ago to stop the aging process at its peak.
      • Signature Style: Bottles are easily identified by their tall, slender shapes, hand-designed labels, and hand-dipped wax tops.

      Notable Releases

Very Olde St. Nick is known for high-proof, "flavor-forward" expressions that often command premium prices.

      • Very Olde St. Nick "Immaculata" Ancient Cask Bourbon: A blend of whiskies aged up to 15 years, bottled at cask strength (typically around 118.1 proof).
      • Very Olde St. Nick 8 Year Old Rye: A "legendary" rye expression, with some versions sourced from Alberta Distillers for the Japanese market.
      • Very Olde St. Nick "The O.G." 17 Year: A highly sought-after 17-year-old bourbon, often rumored to contain old Stitzel-Weller stocks.
      • Distillery-Only Editions: Recent releases like "Notorious O.S.N." (16-year blend) and "Straight Outta Bardstown" (9-year bourbon at 130+ proof) are often sold exclusively at the Bardstown distillery.

      Visitor Experience

Located on a 40-acre former tobacco farm, Preservation Distillery + Farm is the first official craft distillery in Nelson County. Visitors can book tours and tastings that frequently include rare or vintage pours not available in standard retail channels.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Scotch Whiskey

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Scotch Whiskey

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Scotch Whiskey
      40%-ABV, 700ml bottles.
      About Johnnie Walker:

Johnnie Walker is the world’s best-selling blended Scotch whisky, owned by the company Diageo. The brand was established in 1820 by a Scottish grocer of the same name who began blending whiskies to ensure a consistent, high-quality flavor for his customers. Today, Johnnie Walker is known for its iconic square bottles, slanted labels, and its color-coded range of whiskies.
      History
The founder: In 1820, John “Johnnie” Walker used his inheritance to open a grocery shop in Kilmarnock, Scotland. Here, he began blending whiskies to offer a product that was more consistent than the single malts available at the time.
Expansion: After John’s death in 1857, his son Alexander inherited the company and expanded the business globally. He took advantage of the railway to ship his whisky to the world and introduced the brand’s distinctive square bottle to reduce breakage during transport.
Iconic branding: In 1908, John’s grandsons rebranded the whiskies by color and introduced the famous “Striding Man” logo, drawn by cartoonist Tom Browne. By 1920, Johnnie Walker was available in over 120 countries.
Who is Johnnie Walker? Discover his story and where our whisky history begins. It all started in 1820 when a determined young man named John opened his grocery shop in Kilmarnock – a thriving town in Scotland – after the death of his father. Despite a difficult start, John had a spark in him that would ignite his success.
JOHN HAD A NATURAL GIFT FOR BUSINESS. HE ALSO HAD A GENIUS FOR WHISKY.
Within the year, the family farm had been sold and the money used to set John Walker up with his own grocer’s shop in the thriving local town of Kilmarnock. It was a smart move. In those days, most grocers stocked a line of single malts, but they were never consistent. This wasn’t good enough for John. So, he started blending them together to create a whisky that tasted just as good every time.
It proved an extremely popular addition to the inventory.
When John passed away in 1857, after a full and prosperous life, he left his son, Alexander, with a very healthy business. These were fast-moving times. Britain was the pulsating heart of an Industrial Revolution that was set to change absolutely everything. In Kilmarnock, the railway had arrived, carrying goods to great ships travelling to the four corners of the world. Like his father, Alexander knew a good opportunity when he saw one.

When Tom Browne created the Striding Man, Alexander’s sons, Alexander II and George, wanted a symbol for the energetic brand they’d created. A leading illustrator, Tom Browne, sketched the Striding Man figure for them. They renamed their whiskies after the label colors and Johnnie Walker Red Label and Black Label were born.
      1920
Johnnie Walker whisky is available in 120 countries and becomes part of global culture. It’s immortalized by songwriters and filmmakers, idolized by socialites and movie stars, enjoyed by statesmen. In 1934, John Walker & Sons was granted a Royal Warrant by King George V.

Johnnie Walker is the biggest Scotch Whisky brand in the world. Its slogan is adopted and embraced everywhere, as a rallying cry for progress, encouragement in adversity and an expression of optimism. It continues to make whiskies that push boundaries.
