With only 168 bottles available, the rare, limited single malt includes a non-fungible token (NFT) designed by The New Yorker illustrator Maddie Dai, who has melded the iconic worlds of Scotland and New York City to extend the whisky experience beyond the bottle.

 

Upon purchase of The Glenrothes 36 Year Old, consumers will first experience the NFT artwork on the whisky's packaging before receiving it in their digital wallets. Maddie Dai's black and white etch – which pays homage to the iconic New Yorker style – transforms through unexpected moments where Scotland and New York come to life. A once-static image will surprise whisky lovers with subtle movements that reveal special elements found in Maddie's art. Furthermore, Maddie's monochrome sketch will be enhanced through strokes of color highlighting both the whisky and the two worlds that inspired its creation.

Like all Glenrothes Exclusive Single Cask releases, The Glenrothes 36 Year Old aged patiently at the distillery's on-site cooperage in a sherry-seasoned refill hogshead cask. The result is a delicate, balanced experience of orange zest and vanilla sweetness, light oak and gentle spice.

"This individual cask was identified years ago as something special. When it reached 36 years, the liquid was considered optimal in terms of its maturation and flavor development," said Laura Rampling, Master Whisky Maker for The Glenrothes. "This wonderful liquid has all the typical fruity character of The Glenrothes as well as notes of fresh almonds which are often apparent in our older editions. There is also a unique fragrance to it, including hints of rose oil and gentle spice, which are a product of its aging in this particular cask."

SYDNEY, April 26, 2022 Academy Award Winner Anna Paquin and renowned Single Malt Scotch The Glenlivet are ripping up the rule book on whisky drinking traditions in a provocative new campaign.

The Glenlivet is on a mission to break the whisky drinker stereotype and shine a light on all appreciators. As Paquin says in the new commercial, "Whisky doesn't care what's between your legs, so why should we be told to follow these rules?"

Noting her first experience with The Glenlivet, Paquin broke conventions by adding tonic to the whisky, "I first discovered Glenlivet while I was working in Scotland. While it tastes great on its own, I found it's even yummier when you add a little mixer and create a cocktail."

Paquin was selected to become the face of The Glenlivet Australia and New Zealand due to her ongoing invitation to flip convention on its head.

#BreakTheStereotype celebrates inclusivity within whisky and is the first in a series of bold ambitions The Glenlivet is undertaking as part of their new platform, 'This Is Whisky'. Now when searching 'whisky drinker' using Google Images™, the user is greeted with diverse real whisky drinkers. In Australia and New Zealand, nearly a third of female drinkers drink whisky monthly*, a 40% increase since 2015**. Females are adopting whisky at four times the rate of males.**

Together, Bulleit and American Forests have successfully restored more than 2,000 acres of forest landscapes in several states preserving the forests' ability to mitigate climate change, clean water and provide home for wildlife. As reforestation efforts continue to push forward, Bulleit is embarking on a new mission to improve Tree Equity within economically disadvantaged communities and help ensure that all people have access to the benefits of trees.

Simply put, Tree Equity is about making sure everyone can experience the benefits of trees, no matter their income or where they live. Trees help fulfill our basic needs – breathing fresh air, drinking clean water and finding relief from the heat. To invoke actionable change, Bulleit will plant and maintain trees in five cities utilizing American Forests' Tree Equity Score technology that helps measure the tree canopy needs in urban areas to determine which neighborhoods need trees the most.

Crafted by The Macallan Whisky Maker Polly Logan in collaboration with the Roca brothers, owners of El Celler de Can Roca, twice named Best Restaurant in the World, Distil Your World New York embodies and celebrates the city as a dynamic metropolis of art, creativity and visionary talent.

To uncover the mastery behind New York, Polly and Joan Roca traveled to the city to spend time with the artists who fuel its vibrant culture; the visionaries driving its inimitable creativity; and the thinkers chronicling the city. Their journey and the remarkable figures they encountered during it, including globally acclaimed jazz musician Wynton Marsalis, legendary graffiti artist Lady Pink, art curator at the Guggenheim Museum Megan Fontanella, high-end fashion designer Daniel Silverstein and sneaker culture historian Dee Wells, will be showcased in a new 30-minute documentary which marks the fourth episode of the Distil Your World documentary series. The film premiered during a private event in New York on April 13th before being released on YouTube for viewing.

Created from the perfect combination of six European and American oak casks, the whisky reflects the distinctive artistic character of the city, its towering architecture, and the culinary eclecticism offered by its delis, diners and street food. Building on the subtle apple notes already characteristic of The Macallan – a fitting flavor for the Big Apple – Distil Your World New York also offers the sweetness of classic American candy, with nods to peanut and chocolate. A whisp of sidewalks portrays the bustle of the city while uplifting citrus represents the skyscrapers that dominate New York's skyline. "We really looked towards the quintessential tastes of New York – sweet candy, waffles, peanut brittle, chocolate, and pecans. The city's thriving street food scene was a great source of inspiration" said The Macallan Whisky Maker Polly Logan.

The globally acclaimed Roca brothers also created a unique menu designed to take diners on a singular journey through New York. Their creations, which like the whisky, play with renowned New York flavors including a potato cronut with salsa brava, waffles with chicken pâté and sugar cane syrup and cured and smoked strip steak. The Big Apple, their masterpiece dessert, features a caramel apple filled with fresh apple puree and milk chocolate.

Latest offering from master distiller John Rempe features bourbon finished in Calvados casks

ST. LOUIS, April 5, 2022 - Lux Row master distiller John Rempe continues his annual pact with bourbon drinkers with the release of Blood Oath Pact 8 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in Calvados casks. A limited supply of 17,000 (3-pack) cases will arrive at retail this April at a suggested price of $119.99 per 750 ml bottle.

Blood Oath Pact 8 features a combination of the finest bourbons Rempe could find, including a 14-year ryed bourbon and an 11-year ryed bourbon, as well as an 8-year ryed bourbon finished in Calvados casks. Calvados is an apple or pear brandy from the Normandy region in northwestern France that is distilled from cider and aged for a minimum of two years in oak casks. These casks impart their unique aroma and flavor to make Blood Oath Pact 8 a one-of-a-kind pour.

Like with previous pacts, Rempe promises to make the best bourbon for the bourbon connoisseur, and as usual, he promises to never disclose the origin of the bourbons used to create Blood Oath Pact 8.

"I've once again sourced three great bourbons for Blood Oath Pact 8, and I'm particularly excited to include a bourbon finished in Calvados casks," said Rempe. "The Calvados cask will bring additional tasting notes characterized by slight apple on the nose, with hints of vanilla and cinnamon, as well as flavor notes of ripe apples, juicy pears, butterscotch and even subtle hints of chocolate. Blood Oath Pact 8 is a bourbon I'm proud to share with bourbon lovers, but the recipe is a secret I'll be keeping to myself."

Blood Oath Pact 8 features a label similar to its series predecessors, but in a rich green hue to signify apples and pears, which are used to make Calvados brandy. The official launch of Blood Oath Pact 8 will include a total allocation of 51,00 bottles, 1,400 of which will be held for a future Trilogy Pack release. The first Trilogy Pack, featuring Pacts 1, 2 and 3, was released in 2018, and the second Trilogy Pack, featuring Pacts 4, 5 and 6, was released last September in conjunction with National Bourbon Heritage Month.

Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke is crafted differently from most other smoky spirits. The steps to create this unique bourbon begin with toasting and lightly charring a secondary barrel. Afterwards, hickory-smoked chips are delicately ignited at a constant feed to produce smoke, which is then pumped into the barrel, resulting in soft, charred notes. This six-month secondary aging process provides a smoother, more subtle take on smoky spirits, and creates the perfectly sophisticated, yet approachable introduction to both bourbon and Basil Hayden.
