Splinter Group Spirits Introduces Whip Saw Rye Whiskey
NAPA VALLEY, Calif., April 26, 2018 - Splinter Group Spirits, producers of Straight Edge Bourbon Whiskey, Slaughter House American Whiskey and Partner Vermouth announced the launch of Whip Saw Rye Whiskey and the appointment of Dan Burke as National Craft Spirits Manager. A long-time wine and spirits professional, Burke will handle spirit sales and education nationwide.
The newest addition to the portfolio is Whip Saw Rye Whiskey. Smooth, with rich vanilla, yet deliciously spicy, it's crafted from a blend of aged whiskeys—up to 7 years old—and finished in experienced French oak wine barrels using artesian water from an aquifer deep beneath the vineyards on Sonoma Valley's Moon Mountain. The mash bill is 77% rye 21% corn and 2% malted barley and the Rye is bottled at 90 proof. Whip Saw Rye Whiskey is blended by rye lovers and master winemakers Steve Matthiasson (Matthiasson Wines) and Bob Cabral (formerly Williams Selyem), the elite palates behind the rest of the range.
"The chance to work with winemakers I've admired for years on these incredible spirits is a dream come true," explained Burke. "I can't wait to spread the word."
According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS), rye whiskey had the largest volume increase for any spirit category tracked (end-year 2015). Volume was up 19.5% adding to a six year stretch which has seen volume increase 662%, from 88,000 to 671,000 cases sold. Craft spirits as a whole continues to trend upward fueled by the continued popularity of cocktail culture.
About Dan Burke
Dan Burke began his career in the bourbon heartland 18 years ago. He was Owner/Founder of Gemelli Wine + Spirits, a boutique wine and spirits shop in Louisville, Kentucky. Gemelli means "twins" in Italian, named in honor of his identical twin daughters. He was a Key Account Manager for Southern Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits) and most recently Regional Manager for Bronco Wine Company. Burke holds numerous wine and spirits credentials.
Burke quite literally grew up in the food, wine and spirits business, working in his grandfather's Italian restaurants from a young age. His great-great grandfather was a bootlegger, his great grandfather coopered bourbon barrels, his grandfather was foreman of that same cooperage and his grandmother worked for the now famous Stitzel-Weller Distillery, the original makers of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon.
Whip Saw Rye Whiskey is available nationally in 750ml bottles. The suggested retail price is $55.00

In-bottle Finished, Inspired Whiskey is the genesis behind a Texas Whiskey brand, debuting this month
WESTLAKE, Texas, April 26, 2018 Sanctified Spirits, LLC, producer of Oak & Eden Handcrafted Whiskeyproudly announces the introduction of its remarkably smooth, highly original line of in-bottle finished, inspired whiskeys. "Our whiskey is exceptional because of the way in which we finish it, in-bottle," says Joe Giildenzopf, the company's CEO.
In-bottle finishing utilizes a masterful combination of Spirit, Wood, Fire and Spice. "We start with Spirit, Straight American Whiskey, in two varieties, Bourbon and Rye. Next, using our patent-pending process, we add Wood, a 5-inch long spiral cut piece of American Oak to each bottle. We call this our "Spire". The Spire has been exposed to Fire (just like a barrel would be) in order to extract flavorful botanicals that when introduced to the bottle adds Spice, smoothness and character to our whiskey," stated Mr. Giildenzopf.
While our whiskeys are in-bottle finished, they're also inspired. "Inspired Whiskey" has two meanings; the first, obvious meaning is there is a spire in our whiskey. The second, less obvious meaning speaks to the Creation Story when God made Man from the earth and breathed His life into His creation. Similarly, Oak & Eden uses elements of the earth, corn, rye and barley to create a spirit, whiskey. We figuratively put a part of ourselves into our creation to bring it to life, or inspire it. The spire in the bottle is emblematic of this impartation. "Oak" characterizes the origin of our creation and "Eden" the perfection of it.
Oak & Eden subtly honors The Creator by celebrating creators, those who are so inspired that they willingly endure long-suffering to refine their craft and make something that lasts. "We get it. It's a struggle, long and arduous. That's why we share our creation: amazing whiskey, inspired from within by our spire, enabling our in-bottle finishing, defining our flavor and perfecting our creation. It is a suitable reward for anyone who puts whatever is in them, out there," claims Brad Neathery, the company's Creative Director.
Oak & Eden is proud to curate, and commemorate other makers. "For all the makers, we made this for you." Stories of craftsmen, artisans, innovators, and explorers can be found at www.oakandeden.com/stories
Oak & Eden is available in Bourbon, finished with a Toasted Oak spire and Rye, finished with a Charred Oak spire and can be purchased in many Texas liquor stores. Other innovative expressions will be released later this year, in limited, small batch quantities. "In September, we will be releasing a "Cabernet-Steeped" variety, whereby we rest a French Oak spire in cabernet sauvignon for 6 weeks prior to using it to finish, in-bottle, an American Whiskey," claims Joe Giildenzopf.
Oak & Eden Handcrafted Whiskey is being distributed by Republic National Distributing Company. The company aspires to grow the distribution of the brand to other states soon.

Thank God for Good Whiskey.

Bulleit Partners with Tribeca Film Festival® to Celebrate the Modern Frontier of Film and those Disrupting the Industry through Innovation
NEW YORK, April 24, 2018 Bulleit Frontier Whiskey is uniting with Tribeca Film Festival to celebrate cultural creators from storytellers to innovators and those on the frontier of film as part of a multiyear sponsorship. From featuring Bulleit at all official Festival venues, parties, and film afterparties, to co-sponsoring the Ninth Annual Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards (TDIA) and launching the "Frontier Works: Do Tanks," the deal represents a post-modern approach to consumer engagement.
"This marks the beginning of our partnership with Tribeca Film Festival. The Bulleit brand has been built by people, partnerships and collaborations on the frontier of culture," said Sophie Kelly, Senior Vice President of North American Whiskeys for DIAGEO. "The focus of this Frontier Works partnership will be facilitating projects and telling stories on the frontier of culture. Today we hold our first Frontier Works: Do Tank, focusing on the frontier of urban disruption. The Do Tank will be a series of collaborations which aim to generate real projects and actions that will stir the frontier spirit in everyone and create real impact in culture."
"The history of Bulleit's classic brand and its entrepreneurial spirit perfectly align with Tribeca Film Festival," said Pete Torres, COO, Tribeca Enterprises. "This first year is the beginning of an exciting relationship that will spotlight Bulleit's unique story and support storytellers at the Festival."
The move to sponsor the Tribeca Film Festival connects Bulleit with exemplary storytellers and expands their partnership with dozens of thought leaders in film, art and more. Priority moments for Bulleit during the Festival include:
The Seagull Screening and Afterparty
As a brand built by Tom Bulleit, who left his career as a successful lawyer to found the whiskey in 1987, Bulleit is stirred by entrepreneurial risk takers like Indie film casts and crews who take risks to tell stories that inspire them. To honor their work, Bulleit sponsored the afterparty for The Seagull's world premiere, a film about taking risks in love that was shot in a unique, new style and directed by a team of visionaries.
The screening took place at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 21 followed by the Bulleit-sponsored afterparty where Bulleit honored the cast and crew in true frontier style.
TDIA Ceremony and Frontier Works: Do Tanks
Through their co-sponsorship, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey will help present the diverse field of TDIA honorees – revolutionaries and game-changers from a Nobel Peace Prize winner to the inventor of the hashtag – whose breakthroughs are creating radical solutions to some of the world's most vexing problems.
Bulleit will unite several disruptors for a powerful conversation around change through a "Frontier Works: Do Tank," that will take place following TDIA. The Do Tank topic is urban renewal and how to reinvent two of New York's most disruptive real estate projects. Currently in various stages of development/redevelopment, these projects are unfolding in real time, each facing their own unique challenges.
"On April 24, disruptors, creatives, and industry powerhouses will come together to discuss the real-world application of renewable design solutions. Bulleit Frontier Whiskey's community can now participate and help power these collaborative solutions," said Craig Hatkoff, co-founder of Tribeca Film Festival who created and curates the awards. "The true pioneering spirit of the traditional frontiersman can now be applied to modern frontiers of cutting-edge projects that will redefine the cities of the future. Our hope is that by teaming up with Bulleit Frontier Whiskey we can bring this ethos and sensibility to the new frontiers of urban disruption."
Tribeca Film Festival 2019
Looking ahead, Bulleit plans to collaborate with Tribeca Studios and Tribeca Film Festival on a frontier forging documentary series.
As we celebrate Bulleit's collaboration with Tribeca Film Festival, we hope disruptors and fans of the brand will join us in raising a glass – responsibly, of course.
About Bulleit Frontier Whiskey
Bulleit was founded in 1987 by Tom Bulleit, whose Bulleit Bourbon is inspired by a family tradition. Bulleit Rye, a straight rye whiskey, was added to the portfolio in 2011 to critical acclaim, and the brand's third variant, Bulleit Bourbon 10-Year-Old, was introduced in 2013. Bulleit whiskeys use a higher proportion of rye grain, which gives them their distinctive bold, spicy taste. Bulleit ranks as one of the fastest-growing whiskeys in America, which Tom largely credits to word of mouth recommendations. In 2014, Bulleit broke ground on a new $115 million distillery located in Shelbyville, Ky. The Bulleit Distilling Co. opened in March 2017. Guests are invited to learn more about the past, present and future of Bulleit by visiting the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Experience at Stitzel-Weller in Louisville, Ky., a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® tour. Woodford Reserve® Celebrates the Best of Kentucky with 2018 Kentucky Derby® $1,000 Mint Julep Cup
LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 11, 2018 Woodford Reserve®, the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby®, today reveals its $1,000 Mint Julep Cup available at the Kentucky Derby® benefiting the Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund. Now in its 13th year, the 2018 Cup pays tribute to Kentucky by offering a quintessential julep crafted by Woodford Reserve's newly appointed Assistant Master Distiller, Elizabeth McCall, and Master Distiller, Chris Morris. This year's cup, recipe and experience is presented under the theme: Best of Kentucky.
Woodford Reserve® 2018 Kentucky Derby® Mint Julep
Ingredients:
2 oz. Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon
1 tsp Woodford County, Kentucky, Sorghum Simple Syrup
2 Leaves of Kentucky Colonel Mint
Garnish: 3 spray red roses, a sprig of mint and a single rose petal from the Garland of Roses, which is draped on the winning Derby horse.
Instructions:
Rub mint around the julep cup, expressing the essential oils. Add remaining ingredients and top with crushed ice made from limestone-filtered water sourced from the Woodford Reserve Distillery. Churn ingredients with a bar spoon distributing the flavor. Top with additional crushed ice and garnish.
The cups are handcrafted by Louisville-based jeweler, From the Vault, and each cup is adorned with embellishments representative of the Best of Kentucky. For the first time, the Twin Spires appear on the cup as a nod to Woodford Reserve's inaugural year as the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby. Furthermore, running lines around the cup symbolize the limestone-filtered water, a key ingredient that makes the best bourbon. Not only is the water superior for bourbon production, but it is also one of the elements that make thoroughbred champions in Kentucky. Limestone water is iron-free and rich in calcium and magnesium, which is perfect for the development and strengthening of horses' bones. In addition to the limestone water and the Twin Spires, the cups also feature three sterling silver applications: a thoroughbred horse and jockey, a bottle of Woodford Reserve, and a rose as an ode to the "Run for the Roses™."
"Woodford Reserve is honored to bring together two of Kentucky's greatest traditions -- Derby and bourbon -- through our $1,000 Mint Julep Cup program," said Mark Bacon, Woodford Reserve Global Brand Director. "A premium celebration like The Kentucky Derby deserves a premium cocktail."
The Best of Kentucky is brought to life through individually hand casted applications in rich sterling silver. The $1,000"Bluegrass Cup" features high polished sterling silver rose applications, plated in 18 karat yellow gold. The $2,500"Commonwealth Cup" is a sterling silver cup with a 24-karat heavy reliquary quality gold plating, with a striking contrast of sterling silver detail.
Each cup will be presented in a wooden box lined with silks like those worn by jockeys. Cup buyers will have access to the Woodford Reserve $1,000 Mint Julep Tent and bar on derby day, where they will receive their handcrafted mint julep.
Each year, Woodford Reserve selects a charitable organization to receive the net proceeds from the $1,000 Mint Julep Cup sales with more than $450,000 raised for equine and racing charities to-date. This year's receiving charity, the Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund, was created in 2016 by Louisville native and actress Jennifer Lawrence to assist and empower organizations that fulfill children's needs and drives art access to positively impact the lives of young people.
"The Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund is proud to partner with Woodford Reserve, whose own story represents the very best of Kentucky. We are passionate about leveraging the transformative power of the arts in Kentucky and beyond." said Meredith Lawrence, director of the Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund. "Through the JLAF and Woodford Reserve's support, we can better deliver collaborative and innovative arts impact."

Matthew McConaughey Teams With Bourbon Hall Of Famer To Launch New Wild Turkey® Longbranch™
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky., April 10, 2018 Today, Matthew McConaughey and the legendary Wild Turkey® Distillery are proud to announce the introduction of Wild Turkey Longbranch™, a collaboration between the iconic whiskey brand's creative director and Master Distiller Eddie Russell. Inspired by McConaughey's Kentucky and Texasroots, this rare small-batch Kentucky bourbon is refined with Texas Mesquite and oak charcoals – a unique method that deepens the flavor and complexity of the whiskey. This launch marks the first time Wild Turkey has unveiled a product that bears a signature of someone other than the Master Distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell. A video of the creation of Wild Turkey Longbranch with McConaughey can be found here.
Wild Turkey Longbranch is the latest collaboration to come from the multi-year partnership with the Academy Award® winning actor. McConaughey, who has served as the brand's creative director since 2016, has worked behind the camera and in front of it in television commercials to reintroduce the world to Wild Turkey, and this new bourbon is a natural evolution of the partnership. The name is inspired by the friends that form the longest branches of our family trees.
The connections that McConaughey and the Russells have to both the great states of Kentucky and Texas were a major inspiration for this collaboration. McConaughey's parents met at the University of Kentucky, a mere 15 miles from the Wild Turkey Distillery, while Eddie Russell's youngest son, Bruce, now lives in McConaughey's hometown of Austin, Texas.
"Longbranch, in its simplest form, is an extended hand, inviting a friend into your family," McConaughey says. "So the branch that was extended to me from the Russells was a long one, one that reached from Kentucky to Texas and back again. I offered the Mesquite from my great state to add to their legendary Kentucky whiskey and together we made Longbranch."
To create Longbranch's signature flavor, McConaughey and Russell spent countless hours sharing notes, then, after two years of testing, perfected a proprietary process that combines two separate charcoal filtration methods to give Longbranch a smooth and full finish. The first filtration process uses charcoal made from American White Oak and the second uses charcoal made from Texas Mesquite wood, giving the bourbon notes of smoky sweetness.
Made with eight-year-old Wild Turkey Bourbon, Wild Turkey Longbranch is an exceptional bourbon with a bright gold color and aroma that is a balanced blend of vanilla and spices. Flavors of caramel, pear, and hints of citrus round out the palate. The subtle, smoky finish is buttery smooth, with notes of gentle pepper and toasted oak. "When we were creating Wild Turkey Longbranch, we talked at length about how to make a product that represents elements of both Texas and Kentucky," said Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell. "Our goal was to make a straight bourbon whiskey with a soft sweetness that was still unmistakably Wild Turkey. The result was a bourbon that we both truly enjoy drinking neat, and look forward to sharing with others."
"Matthew McConaughey has been ingrained in the Wild Turkey brand as creative director for several years now," said Bob Kunze-Concewitz, CEO at Campari Group, owner of Wild Turkey. "As a lover of bourbon, and an integral part of the team, it was a natural next step for Matthew to partner with Eddie to create a new product for Wild Turkey. We are proud of the work they've done and have great expectations for this amazing new whiskey."
Wild Turkey Longbranch will be available on shelves across the US in May for a suggested retail price of $39.99 and will roll-out to additional markets around the world later this year.

About Wild Turkey
The Distillery for Wild Turkey Bourbon is located in Kentucky, situated on a deep limestone shelf on the Kentucky River. The shelf acts as a natural filter and provides the distillery with crystal clear water, vital to making such a high quality product. Wild Turkey features the legendary father and son Master Distilling team of Jimmy and Eddie Russell, who have nearly 100 years of collective experience working at the Wild Turkey distillery.
The famous Wild Turkey brand name first came about back in 1940 when distillery executive Thomas McCarthey took a few warehouse samples on a Wild Turkey hunting trip with a group of friends. The following year, his friends asked him for "some of that Wild Turkey whiskey" and the brand was born.
Wild Turkey is distilled and put into new oak barrels at a much lower ABV than most bourbons. This results in a much richer flavor, as less is cooked out during the production process. Ageing in the highest quality new American oak barrels with the heaviest char available (the Number 4 "alligator" char), imparts a smooth flavor and deep amber color to the whiskey.
The barrels are filled at the distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Website: www.wildturkeybourbon.com

Double Gold Medal-Winning Conviction Small Batch Bourbon Now Available Beyond the Carolinas
MT. PLEASANT, N.C., April 5, 2018 Conviction Small Batch Bourbon is distilled, aged and bottled by Southern Grace Distilleries in an old NC prison. The first bottles were released November 2017. The barrel strength bourbon has won multiple gold medals including a double gold and is now distributed well beyond North Carolina.
In less than six months, Conviction Small Batch Bourbon has already expanded from NC, SC and Washington, DC to LA, OK, CT, NJ and southern IL.
"We are so pleased to now be distributed outside the Carolinas," said Southern Grace Distilleries CEO Leanne Powell. "Getting the first order was thrilling, but the reorders are telling us that customers truly love Conviction."
Conviction Small Batch Bourbon is aged in 10 and 15 gallon barrels for eight to twelve months in a prison dorm built in 1927. It won double gold at the Fifty Best Bourbons competition in NYC and was recently featured at the New Orleans Bourbon Festival.
Reviews have been very good. The Whiskey Reviewer said, "On the nose, this young bourbon was full of raw oak, vanilla fudge and chocolate-covered cherries. It was, on the whole, very candy-ish, and a lovely ensemble of aromas for any whiskey, but especially for one with only 8 months in the barrel. Breaking it with ½ teaspoon of water brought out some caramel in the chocolate tones as well as some very low grassy notes. The mouthfeel was bold, at the roof of the mouth and front of the tongue. The finish was of leather and coffee. And more coffee, with dark burnt sugar and bundt coffee cake. It was an unusual finish and fairly long. This young bourbon, straight out of 'Whiskey Prison,' is a very nice sipper."
Southern Grace Distilleries, known as Whiskey Prison, was founded in 2014 and is located in a former North Carolinastate prison in Cabarrus County, NC, located about 25 minutes northeast of Charlotte. Southern Grace Distilleries is the first distillery in the US located in a former prison. For more information about Conviction Small Batch Bourbon or Whiskey Prison, please visit www.whiskeyprison.com or call Leanne Powell at 704-622-6413 or Brian Pearson at 419-605-0315.

Garden & Gun Partners With Maker's Mark® And Bourbon Country® To Kick Off 2018 Mint Julep Month®
CHARLESTON, S.C., April 5, 2018 Garden & Gun, widely known as the authority on Southern culture, in partnership with Maker's Mark® and Bourbon Country®, announces Mint Julep Month® (April 5 to May 5) — a national campaign that celebrates the mint julep beyond one day of horse racing and encourages participants to ditch plastic straws in support of water sustainability efforts. Mint Julep Month® was started in 2013 by the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau to encourage excitement throughout the city and along the Urban Bourbon Trail leading up to Derby season.
This year's campaign festivities kick off on Sunday, April 8, with an invitation-only Julep Brunch at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City featuring original twists on the mint julep cocktail created by four celebrated bartenders and continues throughout the month with hundreds of participating bars, restaurants, and other establishments across the country. Go to mintjulepmonth.com for participants.
"Kentucky's love of the famous bourbon cocktail began in the late 1700s as a refreshing morning drink or medical remedy," said Stacey Yates, vice president of marketing communications, Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau. "Today, the mint julep is synonymous with Louisville and the entire horseracing season, and we are excited to celebrate the Bourbon Country legacy with a national audience thanks to our partnership with Garden & Gun and Maker's Mark."
The mint julep has become one of America's most iconic cocktails. The straw, invented specifically for use in sipping the mint julep, is every bit as iconic. Unfortunately, the paper straws of the 1800s have evolved into the modern plastic straws that contribute heavily to environmental pollution.
"You can't make great bourbon without clean water, which is why we have always been so passionate about water conservation and sustainability at Maker's Mark," says 8th Generation Whisky Maker and Maker's Mark COO, Rob Samuels. "In addition to preserving our natural spring-fed lake and creating a natural water sanctuary at our distillery, we're excited to do our part in keeping water clean beyond our own grounds during Mint Julep Month. You can't beat a great cocktail in support of a great cause."
"Storytelling is at the core of everything we do at Garden & Gun and the mint julep is one of the most storied cocktails in history," Christian Bryant, Garden & Gun vice president and publisher. "We are excited to celebrate new Derby traditions and fine handcrafted cocktails with our partners at Maker's Mark Bourbon and Bourbon Country."
SPECIAL EVENTS IN NEW YORK CITY AND CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA:
On Sunday, April 8, accomplished Southern-based bartenders will kick off Mint Julep Month® with a Julep Brunch, on the rooftop terrace of the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City. Featured bartenders have crafted original cocktail recipes inspired by the traditional julep to be served alongside a Southern-inspired brunch menu during the party.
Mint Julep Month® will cap off on Saturday, May 5, with the ultimate Kentucky Derby viewing party on the rooftop of The Dewberry hotel, in Charleston, South Carolina.
All julep cocktails consumed at official Mint Julep Month® events will be consciously served with paper straws.
THE HISTORY OF THE MINT JULEP:
The mint julep dates back to the late 1700s, and as early as 1816, silver julep cups were coveted prizes at county fairs in Kentucky. State senator Henry Clay is credited with introducing the mint julep to the world at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., and in 1938 Churchill Downs in Louisville named the cocktail the official drink of the Kentucky Derby. In 2013, the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau, began Mint Julep Month® to celebrate the famous bourbon cocktail for the entire month of April leading up to Derby Day.

About Maker's Mark® Bourbon
In 1954, in Loretto, Kentucky, Bill Samuels, Sr., fulfilled his dream to create a handmade and delicious bourbon. He decided to make his whisky in small-batches, using soft red winter wheat, with a proprietary barrel char to enhance the softness and sweetness. He then rotated each barrel by hand for consistency, and finally, aged each barrel to taste. Bill Samuels, Sr., transformed bourbon from a "commodity" into a premium handmade spirit, and today Maker's Mark® continues to make its bourbon exactly the same way. In recent years, Maker's Mark has introduced thoughtful, super-premium innovations to its portfolio including Maker's 46®, Maker's Mark® Cask Strength and Maker's Mark Private Select™, the brand's first-ever custom barrel program. In 1980, the Maker's Mark distillery became the first distillery in America to be designated a National Historic Landmark and has also been decreed as the "world's oldest operating bourbon whisky distillery" by Guinness World Records. It remains one of the Commonwealth of Kentucky's most popular tourist destinations, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. For more information, please visit www.makersmark.com.
About Bourbon Country
Bourbon Country is the birthplace of America's only native spirit. While bourbon can be made anywhere in the US, over 95% of the world's supply comes from Kentucky where it has been part of the culture and lifestyle of the region for over 200 years. Lonely Planet recently recognized Kentucky's Bourbon Country as one of the top destinations to visit in 2018. A visit to the Kentucky cities and towns producing bourbon and celebrating the spirit in tours, retail, culinary and cocktail experiences and unique accommodations can be planned at www.bourboncountry.com.

Anheuser-Busch & Jim Beam Announce New Beer & Marketing Collaboration
From Anheuser-Busch & Jim Beam:
Today, Budweiser and Jim Beam® bourbon toast to the future as they join their 365 collective years of stateside distilling and brewing history to kick off a new friendship and marketing collaboration. The all-American pair will introduce a new taste of history to beer and bourbon fans alike through a cross-merchandising program starting in the spring and a new collaborative brew launching in the fall.
Starting this month, the two brands will begin appearing together at bars and retail venues across the country, just in time for baseball season. Inspired by the “beer and a bourbon shot” occasion, the new on-premise cross-merchandising program will feature Budweiser and Jim Beam bourbon together for the perfect pairing.
Following, in September, Budweiser’s brewmasters and Jim Beam’s seventh generation Master Distiller Fred Noe will celebrate the upcoming 85th anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition with the unveiling of a new limited-edition collaborative brew – Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager. The Copper Lager is brewed with two-row barley and aged on Jim Beam bourbon barrel staves to create a toasted oak aroma and deliciously nutty taste with caramel rye and vanilla notes.
“We are very excited about this partnership not only because both brands share common history but also an obsession for quality and a decade’s long connection to America,” said Ricardo Marques, Vice President of marketing for Budweiser. “This is a truly unique partnership and innovation that will surely drive excitement with our drinkers.”
“This partnership feels especially natural given our brands’ common values and the pivotal roles they’ve both played in American history,” said Rob Mason, Vice President of marketing for Jim Beam. “Our family distillers have produced ‘America’s Native Spirit’ since 1795, using traditions and techniques passed down through the generations. This is another exciting milestone in Jim Beam’s history.”
The World’s most valuable beer brand and the World’s No. 1 bourbon brand share impressive histories of persevering through the Prohibition era while they were not able to produce their signature products. For Jim Beam, it was their fourth generation distiller – James B. Beam – who rebuilt his family’s distillery in a mere 120 days to produce what is today the world’s best-selling bourbon. Similarly, Budweiser kept its doors open through Prohibition by creating other non-alcoholic packaged goods as they waited to bring beer back to America. Budweiser’s Reserve Copper Lager aged on Jim Beam bourbon barrel staves celebrates this important moment for these brands and all Americans.
The partnership between Budweiser and Jim Beam promises to deliver unique product innovations, integrated marketing efforts and a unique way to delight both beer and bourbon fans. The two brands will lean on their incredible American heritage to deliver a modern drinking experience this year and beyond.
About Budweiser
Budweiser, an American-style lager, was introduced in 1876 when company founder Adolphus Busch set out to create the United States’ first truly national beer brand – brewed to be universally popular and transcend regional tastes. Each batch of Budweiser stays true to the same family recipe used by five generations of Busch family brewmasters. Budweiser is a medium-bodied, flavorful, crisp and pure beer with blended layers of premium American and European hop aromas, brewed for the perfect balance of flavor and refreshment. Budweiser is made using time-honored methods including “kraeusening” for natural carbonation and Beechwood aging, which results in unparalleled balance and character.
About Jim Beam
Jim Beam is the world’s best-selling bourbon, crafted by seven generations of family distillers since 1795. Elegant. Smooth. Refined. That’s what years of aging in new charred oak barrels does to our Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Fred Noe, Jim Beam’s 7th Generation Master Distiller, has stayed true to the family recipe that’s been passed down through generations. The Jim Beam portfolio of products includes Jim Beam Bourbon, Jim Beam Black, Jim Beam Double Oak, Jim Beam Devil’s Cut, Jim Beam Bonded, Jim Beam Rye, Jim Beam Distiller’s Masterpiece, Jim Beam Vanilla, Jim Beam Honey, Jim Beam Kentucky Fire and Red Stag by Jim Beam among other offerings.

La Luna Mezcal Coming To U.S. Markets
SONOMA, CA, March 26 – As the popularity of Mezcal continues to grow at an
unprecedented rate throughout the United States, Mexican artisanal spirits
producer Puente Internacional is keeping its attention on sustainability and social
impact as they introduce La Luna Mezcal.
Hailing from Etucuaro, Michoacán in Mexico, La Luna Mezcal is grown,
harvested and produced using a sustainable and biodynamic process while
remaining true to traditional methods started four generations ago in 1910.
The region, Cuna de Mezcal, known for producing exceptional artisanal mezcal,
is also home to the Perez Escot family and Destiladora Las Azucenas. Lush and
tropical, it sits tucked away in a verdant mountain range at an elevation of 1790
meters. The soil, climate and abundance of white oak used in the smoking
process make it ideal for growing Cupereta Agave, and the production of La
Luna Mezcal.
The La Luna Mezcal flavor profile is described as having a deft touch of wood
with light smoky undertones, notes of citrus blossom and vanilla bean. The mild,
yet dynamic flavors of La Luna make it ideal to enjoy on its own neat, or
incorporated into mixology cocktails where it compliments other ingredients
while not overpowering them.
The smoky flavor of La Luna is attributed to the mezcal production process,
which involves smoking the piñas in volcanic rock lined pits over several days, as
opposed to Tequila production, where the piñas are baked.
An integral part of the ongoing partnership between the Perez Escot Family and
Puente Internacional is rooted in producing La Luna in a way that supports the
farmers, the surrounding communities, the wildlife and the agriculturally rich land
that is crucial to ensure a healthy future for fine Mexican spirits.
The extraordinary worldwide demand for Tequila and Mezcal has reached a
point that the sustainability of agave production and other resources have
become jeopardized. While the shortage and premature harvesting of Blue
Agave has posed serious issues for many regions of Mexico, Puente and the
Perez Escot Family strive to ensure the longevity of the Cupereta Agave by
replacing each one harvested with 10 new plants.
Puente Internacional and La Luna’s dedication to ‘doing things better’ is not
limited to the reforestation of Agave.
“There is opportunity to do better in almost everything we do: from
biodynamic farming to fair wages for workers; sustainable agave and
protection of native wildlife – everything from the farm to the consumer,”
said Salvador Chavez, CEO of Puente Internacional.
Puente is determined to Build bridges and not walls. Chavez, his partners, and his
affiliated U.S. based companies have allowed them to stay true to their mission
of focusing on values, product and people through their ‘Crafting Impact’
campaign. (www.CraftingImpact.com)
The initiatives behind Crafting Impact focus on issues facing Mexico as well as
those domestically in the Unites States. In Michoacán, Puente values a quality
livelihood for families, provides financial assistance for education through each
bottle sold, and seeks to employ single mothers on the farms and distillery.
Environmental issues facing reforestation and animal welfare extend all the way
down to support for the endangered monarch butterfly, which famously ends its
successful migration in Michoacán.
Within the U.S., Crafting Impact strives to help those in the beverage industry
reduce their environmental footprint by popularizing a collection of Spirit of
Change products that include glass straws, reusable bar storage and green
cleaning products.
“At Puente Internacional, we’re dedicated to producing a diverse
portfolio of signature artisanal Mexican Spirits, while protecting every
element involved in the production process,” said Chavez.
