Aged for three years in new American white oak casks (Quercus Alba), the bourbon is then blended with The Veritable American Single Malt Whiskey—crafted from 100% malted barley and aged for three years in ex-Rye casks from Bardstown Distillery. Michter's To Release 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon
LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 25, 2025 - Michter's Master Distiller Dan McKee and Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson have approved a release of Michter's 10 Year Bourbon that will begin reaching stores, bars, and restaurants this April.
"Rather than on a strict age schedule, at Michter's we bottle whiskey when our production team deems it fully matured. This continues the standards set by Michter's first Kentucky Master Distiller Willie Pratt," said Michter's President Joseph J. Magliocco. The 2025 release will have a suggested retail price of $195 for a 750ml bottle in the U.S.
Wilson and McKee regularly taste older barrels as they assess the maturation of their stocks. Wilson commented, "It is such an exciting time when we are reviewing barrels for consideration for this release. This year's 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon is again overaged beyond 10 years. It opens with a very inviting nose and draws you in like a good movie with its character development and complexity with the joy of a great story it has to share and leaving you satisfied through to the finish."
Michter's 10 Year Bourbon is 94.4 Proof (47.2% Alc./Vol.). "It has remarkable body and character," observed McKee. "The richness and complexity of this whiskey continues to provide such a robust experience that is amazingly flavorful for a bourbon that isn't north of 100 proof."
In late October 2024, the UK-based publication Drinks International announced the results of a poll of an Academy of independent global whisky experts, journalists, bartenders, and drinks buyers from more than 20 countries. Blood Oath Pact 11 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey arrives at retail in April
ST. LOUIS, March 25, 2025 Lux Row Distillers Master Distiller and Master Blender John Rempe renews his annual pact with bourbon drinkers by releasing Blood Oath Pact 11 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Añejo Tequila Barrels. This year's secret blend features a union of two well-bred bourbons – a 14-year ryed and a 10-year wheated – blended with an impressive 7-year ryed which was finished in barrels that held Añejo tequila. As with all of Rempe's pacts, Blood Oath Pact 11 is offered at 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV).
Blood Oath Pact 11 will be available for in-person purchase while quantities last starting at 9:30 a.m. on April 26 at Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky. Purchases are limited to one bottle of Blood Oath Pact 11 per purchaser, and no bottles will be held or shipped. Special snacks and sampling opportunities will be available for visitors enjoying the day at the distillery. For fans who are unable to visit in person, a limited supply of 17,000 (3-in) cases of Blood Oath Pact 11 will start arriving at retail in April at a minimum suggested retail price of $129.99 per 750 mL bottle.
Blood Oath Pact 11 combines three of the finest rare bourbons Rempe could find. The blend is elevated further by the Añejo-barrel finish which lends a distinctive complexity and richness to the pour.
"The tasting experience for Blood Oath Pact 11 begins with the warmth of vanilla and black pepper, sweetly infused with spice and oak," said Rempe. "From there, notes of cherry and citrus subtly emerge, guiding towards a velvety finish highlighted by black cherry and decadent dark chocolate. It's a gorgeous expression that's sure to surprise and please bourbon and tequila drinkers alike."
Although Rempe doesn't reveal which famous bourbons were used for the Pact 11 blend, it's no secret his appreciation for aged tequilas helped shape this year's offering.
"Añejo tequila has delicious and rich notes due to its aging in bourbon barrels," said Rempe. "By utilizing the Añejo barrels for this year's Pact 11, we brought our bourbon full circle while picking up all of the best attributes and flavor notes along the way."
Lux Row only releases one new Blood Oath Pact annually, and each limited edition features a distinctive label on an embossed glass bottle. This year, a mahogany-colored label with gold highlights adorns the Blood Oath Pact 11 bottle. LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 18, 2025- Today, Old Forester® releases its latest expression in the 117 Series: Bottled in Bond Rye - This release marks the first Bottled in Bond Rye Whisky handcrafted by Old Forester.
The 1897 Bottled in Bond Act required that each bottling be composed of barrels filled during a single distillation season. This small batch of Rye Whisky reflects the unique flavor of the unusually cool and wet Spring of 2015.
117 Series Bottled in Bond Rye is bottled at 100-proof in a 375 mL bottle.

TAIPEI, March 11, 2025 Kavalan Distillery is launching its first-ever whisky with an age statement, matured in four unique casks: ex-Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, Ruby Port, and Puncheon.
The release marks a milestone in the journey of this Taiwanese distiller, which has broken boundaries not just by region, but now also by time and maturation.
The whisky also pays tribute to the historic moment when Kavalan and Taiwan began whisky making. On this day in 2006, the first ever drops of Taiwanese-made new make spirit rolled off the stills, setting the stage for nearly two decades of innovation and craftsmanship.

Estate Whiskey Alliance Launches Certification Program; Minden Mill's Master Distiller Featured
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 11, 2025) — The University of Kentucky’s Estate Whiskey Alliance® (EWA) is launching a first-of-its-kind program that authenticates estate whiskeys with a globally recognized certification mark to be used on qualifying whiskey product labels:
Estate Whiskey CertifiedTM.
Estate whiskey refers to a type of whiskey that is produced entirely on the distillery estate using grains sourced from the estate or local to that site.
“The EWA and our members place utmost priority in authenticity and transparency into the entire farming and whiskey production process. This certification program aims to clearly label those Estate Whiskey CertifiedTM products to assure consumers of the exceptional craftsmanship and terroir behind every sip,” said Landon Borders, EWA director.
Estate Whiskey CertifiedTM products will have each of the following characteristics:
- All production processes including milling, cooking, fermentation, distillation,
barreling, aging and bottling occur on the estate distillery.
- At least 2/3 of all mash bill grains are grown on estate-owned or controlled land.
Only the specific whiskey products evidencing sourcing and production requirements can display the prestigious Estate Whiskey CertifiedTM logo on their qualifying bottles.
Grains are the foundation of whiskey, akin to grapes in wine. From the location to the processing and distilling — all stages impact the final products for consumers.
“As farmers and distillers, one of our primary objectives is to bring this topic front and center,” said Colby Frey, whiskey farmer and co-founder of Frey Ranch Distillery. “By joining the Estate Whiskey Alliance, we hope to further educate bartenders, retailers and consumers on the importance and relevance of U.S. agriculture and locally grown grains to the production of American Whiskey.”
This certification program is now available to any EWA distillery member, and applications are being accepted to certify qualifying products.
“The Estate Whiskey Alliance celebrates three values: transparency, sustainability and flavor of place. This certification provides consumers with assurance of transparency and traceability, demonstrating the provenance of their spirit,” said Blake Layfield, Ph.D., master distiller at Maker’s Mark. “It also underscores a dedication to sustainability, emphasizing the use of locally sourced ingredients. “It legitimizes our messaging as a standard across the industry,” said Pat Brophy, vice president of sales and distribution at Whiskey Acres Distilling Co. “An industry-wide standard that can be promoted becomes the thing customers recognize and accept as a mark of quality.”
“As early adopters of estate distilling, we recognize the immense value of collaborating with like-minded industry leaders to establish standards and promote the significance of estate distilling. A certification program will help safeguard the use of ‘estate,’ ensuring that consumers receive the transparency and authenticity they expect,” said Joe O'Sullivan, master distiller at Minden Mill Distilling.
The first Estate Whiskey CertifiedTM products are expected on shelves in the coming months.
UK and UK Innovate — UK’s innovation, entrepreneurship and economic enterprise for University of Kentucky Research — launched the EWA organization in 2024 with founding members and in partnership with the UK James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits.
