Russell's Reserve® Introduces Annual "Single Rickhouse Collection" with Inaugural Release from Legendary Retired Rickhouse, Camp Nelson C
Crafted exclusively from barrels aged in a single, designated rickhouse, each small batch offering explores the impact of the aging environment, available for a limited time in select markets
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky., Aug. 30, 2022 Straight out of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, award-winning and family-crafted Russell's Reserve announces the debut of an all-new, annual limited-edition collection: Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse. Serving as a distinct expression of the location (or "rickhouse") where the liquid is aged and the "terroir" of that aging environment, each Single Rickhouse bottling will feature rare liquid from a different, individual rickhouse - past and present - at the Wild Turkey Distillery. The series explores the often unsung contributions specific resting places have on a whiskey's final character, celebrating varied nuances of whiskey aging across these different environments. In light of the recent floods in Eastern Kentucky and the heart of Bourbon Country, the Russell family gladly donated the first bottles of this special liquid to The Kentucky Bourbon Benefit - Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Fund this August as a way to support those impacted.
The inaugural release, Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson C, features liquid from only 72 barrels from the now dismantled, seven-story rickhouse, Camp Nelson C. Built in 1946 and decommissioned in 2021, Camp Nelson C became a treasured rickhouse of Wild Turkey Distilling Co. Situated on top of a hill and next to the Kentucky River, the warehouse was made from timber and clad with tin to naturally control internal temperatures, with space for air to circulate and allow the barrels to breathe during the aging process. Russell's Reserve Master Distiller Eddie Russell selected the barrels for this special release from the center-cut, also considered the sweet spot, on floors three and four of the warehouse.
The Single Rickhouse from Camp Nelson C serves as a testament to the Russell Family's mastery of craft bourbon and appreciation of the distinctive liquid nuances that each Single Rickhouse brings. As Eddie began tasting through barrels selected for consideration for this release, he knew immediately once he'd tasted from the Camp Nelson C center-cut barrels that he'd found a special batch. A unanimous decision by all who tasted it, including Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and Eddie's son, Bruce Russell, the final flavor profile of Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson C is an unexpectedly rich and unique take for the brand.
"Tasting through our barrel stock as our whiskies age and determining which are right for each release is one of my favorite parts of the job," said Eddie Russell, Master Distiller at the Wild Turkey distillery. "When I tasted this liquid from Camp Nelson C, I knew it deserved its own place in Russell's history. It's a little different from what folks have come to expect from our whiskies, and even though we all personally enjoy different flavor profiles, Dad, myself and my son, Bruce all agreed instantly – this is a once in a blue moon kind of whiskey and deserving of being the first release in this special series. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do."
Aged for over 10 years, this limited release of non-chill filtered bourbon was bottled at 112.4 barrel proof and is nothing short of decadent, with thick, rich introductory notes of toffee, coconut and vanilla, and a long, silky finish. Eddie Russell, with over four decades of experience under his belt, has described this whiskey as a "five-star liquid," which boasts the following characteristics:
- Proof: 112.4
- Aroma: Sweet vanilla, caramel and cream that transition to fresh and dried fruit and then notes of brown sugar, oak and char.
- Taste: Thick, rich and sweet introduction with notes of toffee, coconut and vanilla that transition to notes of apple, dried fruit, toasted pecan, chocolate and baking spices.

CLERMONT, Ky., Aug. 24, 2022 Freddie Noe, Eighth Generation Master Distiller of the Fred B. Noe Distillery and creator of Little Book® Whiskey, is proud to announce the sixth installment in his acclaimed annual, limited-release series – Little Book Chapter 6: "To The Finish."
The name of this year's chapter is inspired by Noe's passion for both whiskey-making and cooking, and more specifically, his curiosity for how flavors come together to complement each other.
"From generation to generation, the kitchen has always been a place where my family comes together to share traditions including my dad teaching me to cure meat and working to perfect my grandfather's sausage recipe. These memories ultimately led to my pursuits around the grill," said Noe. "My love for cooking and grilling, along with my obvious love of whiskey, has inspired my work in the rackhouse, and you'll see that poured into Chapter 6."
Noe uses the traditional method of smoking hardwoods to create different aromas and flavors in food, and he's applied that same method to the whiskey-making process, using unique wood staves and barrel techniques for Chapter 6. This process brings different characteristics together to create a final blend that has a perfect balance of flavors.
"To The Finish" is a blend of five liquid streams all distilled under Noe's watchful eye. The 4-year-old Straight Malt Whiskey liquid streams all start as the same American Single Malt Whiskey but are aged separately with different wood staves and barrel techniques to impart a unique taste profile. Once the liquids are individually dumped, they are blended back together in different ratios before a 5-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon is added to create the final blend. The result is an extremely approachable liquid, even for those who have yet to try a cask strength whiskey.

- The 4-year-old Straight Malt Whiskey finished with maplewood staves gives a rounded finish to the whiskey, ultimately complementing the overall blend.
- Finally, the 5-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon creates a balance throughout by adding in the classic warm, sweet bourbon notes. This brings the full blend together and allows the nuances of each treatment to shine.

Michter's to Release US*1 Toasted Barrel Sour Mash Whiskey for The Second Time Ever
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Aug. 23, 2022 - In September 2022, Michter's Distillery will release its US*1 Toasted Barrel Sour Mash Whiskey for sale to U.S. and export markets. This whiskey was released once before in 2019.
"At Michter's we're proud of the great work done by our production team to create our Toasted program," commented Michter's President Joseph J. Magliocco. "We are always trying new things as we endeavor to make highest quality whiskeys, and with the 2014 release of our US*1 Toasted Barrel Bourbon we became the first company to offer a toasted barrel American whiskey. It's great to see how this new category has taken off over the past 8 years."
To make this special Toasted release, Michter's starts with fully matured barrels of its US*1 Sour Mash Whiskey. "The heart of this toasted product is a wonderful whiskey that begins on the palate like a sweet and delicious bourbon and then has a rye-like spice on the finish," said Michter's Master Distiller Dan McKee. Michter's US*1 Sour Mash is then transferred into specially toasted barrels for additional aging. The precise toast profile of the second barrel is artfully selected by Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson. About her toast selection, Wilson observed, "The 2022 Toasted Sour Mash release takes the Sour Mash expression and enhances it by adding notes of smoked honey and gingersnap cookies accentuated by toasted oak, all while honoring the sweet and spicy balance of our US*1 Sour Mash. Working on the Toasted series really brings forward the influence of the barrel and represents the dedication of the Michter's team to continuously provide exceptional whiskey."
When Michter's US*1 Sour Mash, the base of this Toasted release, was selected by The Whisky Exchange as "Whisky of the Year" for 2019, it marked the first time that any whiskey from the United States had ever achieved this honor. Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Sour Mash Whiskey is 86 proof and will sell in the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $100 per 750ml bottle.

In 2009, Andrea "broke the glass ceiling" when she became the first woman to ever Chair the Kentucky Distillers' Association. Established in 2001, The Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame® recognizes individuals and organizations who have had a transformative impact on the Bourbon industry.

Andrea Wilson was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and as a child she would listen attentively to her grandfather recount stories about his moonshining days. Upon graduating from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering, Wilson went on to earn a Master of Engineering, Chemical Engineering there as well. In 2018, the JB Speed School of Engineering honored Andrea with its Professional Award in Chemical Engineering.
Prior to her tenure at Michter's, Andrea had a distinguished career at Diageo, where she rose to the position of Director of Distillation and Maturation, North America. Upon joining Michter's in 2014, Andrea embarked on a series of roles at the company. Having done work essential to the growth at Michter's Shively Distillery, Andrea took on key roles in establishing Michter's Fort Nelson Distillery and the company's Farm and Operations in Springfield. Currently Andrea does outstanding work as Michter's Master of Maturation and Chief Operating Officer. Incidentally, we are unaware of any Master of Maturation in Kentucky prior to Andrea being named one.
Since 2005, Andrea has served as either a board member or an alternate board member of the Kentucky Distillers' Association. Different organizations have called upon Andrea to help them, and she has been recognized for her service. Andrea worked as a member of the Frazier Museum Task Force for the development of the new Kentucky Bourbon Trail Welcome Center and the Spirit of Kentucky Exhibition. In 2004 Andrea was nominated for The Business and Professional Women Young Careerist Award. The KET documentary Kentucky Bourbon Tales: Distilling the Family Business highlighted Andrea, and in 2018 the Bourbon Women Association honored her with its Lois Mateus Networking Award.
Andrea resides in Fisherville, Kentucky with her wonderful husband Randy Wilson and three cats.

Latest edition comprises a medley of five bourbons aged since 2008-2014
LAWRENCEBURG, Ind., Aug. 16, 2022 - Ross & Squibb Distillery announced it will release its Remus Repeal Reserve Series VI Straight Bourbon Whiskey this September. The limited-edition bourbon is the sixth-annual offering of the distillery's award-winning Remus Repeal Reserve Bourbon collection. Bottled at 100 proof/50% ABV, Remus Repeal Reserve Series VI retails for a suggested $99.99 per 750-ml bottle and will be available in limited quantities in September to coincide with National Bourbon Heritage Month.
Created by master distiller Ian Stirsman and his team of master distillers and master blenders, Series VI comprises five bourbons, aged between 8-14 years, from its 175-year-old Lawrenceburg, Indiana, distillery. Made in a signature high-rye style, the medley changes each year, allowing Stirsman and his team to experiment with their various mash bills and aged reserves. Remus Repeal Reserve Series VI is comprised of 2% 2008 Bourbon (21% Rye), 17% 2012 Bourbon (36% Rye), 27% 2012 Bourbon (21% Rye), 29% 2014 Bourbon (21% Rye) and 25% 2014 Bourbon (36% Rye). Series VI leads with aromas of rich candied fruit with a hint of nutmeg and saddle leather. The initial taste includes candied fruit and fig jam, followed by oak and barrel char, mint and slight caramel, nutmeg, toffee and honey. The finish offers a balance of sweet candied fruit and leather, with lingering sweetness and rye spice.

Three Ragged Branch bottled-in-bond whiskeys took home Best of Category awards, outshining a worthy class of contenders and showcasing the hard work and craftsmanship of the artisan distillery.

Each of the award-winning whiskeys is made with grains grown on-site at Ragged Branch and distilled on a 500-gallon pot still. Ragged Branch Straight Rye – Bottled in Bond is aged in a #3 char new oak barrel for over four years, while both Ragged Branch Signature Bourbon – Bottled in Bond and Ragged Branch Wheated Bourbon – Bottled in Bond are double barreled: They spend over four years in #3 char new oak barrels, then are transferred to a second set of new oak barrels with a heavier #4 char for a year to a year and a half.
The New Orleans Spirits Competition aims to bring wider recognition of fine spirits to top bartenders worldwide. Affiliated with the long-running Tales of the Cocktail festival, the competition fields contenders from across the United States and around the world. Esteemed judges from the hospitality, spirits, and media sectors blind-taste and score each entry, with only the best candidates receiving a medal. "Best of Category" awards provide additional recognition of the most exemplary spirits within a given style.

Renowned Whiskey Brand, High West, Commits One Million Dollars to Protect the West
The Whiskey of the West doubles down on its commitment to preserve the West and its inhabitants
PARK CITY, Utah, Aug. 8, 2022 High West, the Park City-based distillery known for its meticulously sourced and innovatively blended whiskeys, announces today its Protect the West initiative, a $1 million commitment over the next three years to protect the land and its inhabitants. The announcement coincides with the national release of High West's seasonal bottle Campfire, one of the brand's most unique and iconic expressions. In honor of Campfire, the first donation will benefit the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the brave few who run towards the fire, including the wildfires increasingly plaguing the West.
Since opening its doors in 2007, High West has witnessed firsthand how the West has been impacted by a rapidly changing climate, resulting in higher temperatures, severe droughts, drier forests and reduced snowpack. Immediately taking note, the brand has donated more than $1M to nonprofits to date, with the majority of those funds going toward organizations protecting the West and its inhabitants. Now, High West is reaffirming and strengthening this commitment to its own backyard. As part of the Protect the West initiative, High West will partner with organizations that share High West's passion for the West and whose conservation efforts fall into three focus areas: the fight against wildfires, protecting winters and wildland preservation.

The $150,000 inaugural donation will be split between three organizations to support them in their crucial missions. Future donations will be announced over the course of the next three years as High West continues to identify and support organizations striving to Protect the West.
- Wildland Firefighter Foundation, dedicated to helping the families of firefighters killed in the line of duty and to assisting injured firefighters and their families.
- Protect Our Winters, a community of athletes, scientists, creatives, and business leaders advancing non-partisan policies to protect our outdoor playgrounds from climate change.
- American Prairie, creating the largest nature reserve in the contiguous United States by purchasing critical habitat that connects a vast network of existing public lands for wildlife conservation and public access.
In recognition of the Campfire release and to continue supporting the brave protectors who defend us from fires each and every day, High West is donating $50,000 to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and matching consumer donations up to an additional $50,000. The American West is burning more quickly than it has in a decade, and over three million acres of U.S. land - almost the size of Connecticut - have burned so far this year.1 The donation to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation will directly benefit the families of fallen and injured firefighters, honoring those who tirelessly work to protect our lands.

Award-Winning PNW Distillery Creates a Buzz in the Whiskey Market
Traditional methods and modern flavor profiles attract bourbon connoisseurs and wine drinkers alike
BELLINGHAM, Wash., Aug. 4, 2022 - PNW-based distillery Doc Swinson's is shaking up the whiskey scene, one new release at a time.
Jesse Parker, Doc Swinson's Master Blender, has been gaining attention and winning awards as Docs has grown. Winning Washington State Distiller of the Year and Independent Bottler of the Year are two highlights from 2022.
Doc Swinson's is located in Northwest Washington State - and this location, while unusual for the whiskey scene, contributes to their unique processes and finishes: "We're very far outside of the region most people would associate with bourbon, and I think that gives us the space to experiment without the expectation that we follow tradition," states Master Blender Jesse Parker.
