Crown Royal Partners with Celebrity Grillz Makers, Scotty ATL and Eddie Plein, to Announce Newest Whisky Blend Aged 18 Years
The award-winning whisky brand is redefining luxury and celebrating the gems of Atlanta's community with first of its kind grillz collaboration benefiting the Atlanta Artist Relief Fund
ATLANTA, Dec. 14, 2021 In time for the holiday season, Crown Royal is celebrating the release of the award-winning whisky brand's most luxurious variant to date. Crown Royal Aged 18 Years is a rare blend of exceptional whiskies, handcrafted by their master blender, patiently aged to perfection for eighteen years. In honor of the release, Crown Royal commissioned celebrity grillz maker Scotty ATL, to create four exclusive grillz sets using the liquid variant as the inspiration, in a first of its kind collaboration that celebrates new royalty and redefines luxury in the Atlanta community.
Experience the interactive Multimedia News Release here: https://www.multivu.com/players/English/8996151-crown-royal-partners-grillz-makers-scotty-atl-eddie-plein-whisky/
Crown Royal Aged 18 Years has layers of intensity that are both surprising and delightful. Enticing notes of vanilla and stone fruit greet the nose, followed by the velvety body of light oak tempered by caramel spice. Delicate notes of nougat linger in the full-bodied finish. These layers, like the grillz art form, offer rare luxury that surprise and excite the person experiencing it.
"It's an honor to partner with Crown Royal on the launch of Crown Royal Aged 18 Years, their rarest whisky blend, in a way that pays homage to the craft of creating grillz and its impact on Atlanta culture and our community," says Scotty. "There is a thoughtful process to each grillz set I make, from selecting the materials to sizing it for the most perfect fit. I make sure all my clients are left feeling like royalty, much like the feeling after a sip of Crown Royal Aged 18 Years."
In the creation of the grillz Scotty collaborated with a mentor and legend in his own right, Eddie Plein, "the Originator and Godfather of Grillz." Through Plein's continued mentorship in this unique jewelry art form Scotty was able to create extra rare grillz sets that are made with rare VVS diamonds, opals, and 1-of-1 engraved arrows, nodding to Crown 18 Year Old's bottle design. The foundation of the grillz is made from Super Gold, a term coined by Scotty to describe the highest karat of gold he uses for his most luxurious grillz sets.
"I am excited to be a part of Crown Royal's announcement of their latest variant and see the evolution of the grillz culture. While grillz once symbolized poverty and tough economic times to some, they have now become a marker of culture, elevation, and the new definition of luxury," Eddie shared.
With only four of these grillz sets in the world, one was molded for Scotty himself, two were made for Grammy-nominated and Atlanta playmaker duo, EARTHGANG, who routinely pay homage to the unique southern Black culture of Atlanta through their soulful tunes and one set is up for auction via PopShop Live on December 15th at 6 PM ET. The public will have an opportunity to bid for a chance to own a piece of rare luxury, with the proceeds (I.e., the winning bid ) benefiting the Atlanta Artist Relief Fund, whose mission is to help feed and support artists (musicians, dancers, painters, actors, etc.) that make up the fabric of the Atlanta community.^ As part of their ongoing commitment to support local communities, Crown Royal will match the final auction sale price up to $10,000.
"Our artistry is founded on principles instilled in us as we grew up in Atlanta," EARTHGANG shared, "and because of the city's impact on our lives, we've always been a mouthpiece for the culture and our community. Our partnership with Crown Royal allows us to give back to the community that raised us, while appreciating the time it takes to create something so luxurious as Crown Royal Aged 18 Years, much like each song we make."
The specialty pieces highlight how luxury and rareness are not only something you can see. They come from within, showcasing the values and uniqueness that comes from Atlanta's rich history and culture, evolving over time into something exquisite.
"The Atlanta community is rooted in luxury and defining the culture today," Nicola Heckles, Vice President of Crown Royal, explains. "We are honored to partner with this next generation of artists and changemakers and happy to be able to support the Atlanta Artist Relief Fund, all while enjoying the crown jewel of our rarest stock, Crown Royal Aged 18 Years."
The sets were unveiled during an intimate event with Atlanta's most prominent tastemakers. Atlanta-based cellist on the rise, OkCello, provided entertainment for the night, while photographer and city native, Inari Briana captured the spirit of the event with stylized portraits of the guests.
Crown Royal invites everyone 21+ to toast to the artist communities. Please remember to drink responsibly. Crown Royal Aged 18 Years will be available in the United States at liquor stores, select bars and restaurants in limited quantities and online via Drizly in select locations.
*Must be 21+ to bid. Grillz offered for sale AS IS. To create grillz, winning bidder must complete custom mold and ship back to Scotty ATL, allowing 2-3 weeks for production. Bid is a legally binding agreement to purchase custom grillz set at corresponding price. Auction ends December 15th at 6:30 PM Eastern Time. Winning bid may not be tax deductible. Subject to Auction Rules here; be sure to review all rules, including complete item description before bidding.

BOURBON COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO BENEFIT WESTERN KENTUCKY
FRED MINNICK, THE KENTUCKY DISTILLERS' ASSOCIATION AND THE BOURBON CRUSADERS HOST
THE KENTUCKY BOURBON BENEFIT, DECEMBER 16 - 21
Bourbon curator Fred Minnick, The Kentucky Distillers’ Association (KDA) and The Bourbon Crusaders charitable organization partner for a fundraising event to support recovery and rebuilding efforts from the tornados that ravaged Western Kentucky.
The Kentucky Bourbon Benefit will feature an online and live auction of exclusive private barrel selection experiences, rare and vintage spirits, and unique tasting and tourism offerings from Kentucky’s signature distilling industry and hospitality and charitable partners.
The online auction will begin Thursday, Dec. 16 at 5 PM EST and run until Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 10 PM EST. A live-streamed auction will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21 starting at 7 PM EST at Westport Whiskey & Wine in Louisville and will feature elite and immersive items from Kentucky’s legendary distillers.
“I’m overwhelmed by the outpouring of support in recent days,” says Gov. Andy Beshear. “I appreciate our signature Bourbon industry quickly stepping up to raise much-needed money for Kentucky families that have lost so much in this tragedy.”
“Kentuckians are hurting," adds KDA President Eric Gregory. "They’ve lost their homes, loved ones and their livelihoods. It’s our obligation as a signature industry – and duty as fellow Kentuckians – to help each other in times of crisis. There is a real urgency here. These are our friends and neighbors, and they need help now.”
Auction items can be viewed and bid on via kybourbonbenefit.com.
All proceeds will go directly to the state’s official Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund to assist those impacted by the tornados and severe storms of Saturday, Dec. 11. To learn more or make a donation, visit secure.kentucky.gov/formservices/Finance/WKYRelief.
“We've been the recipients of so much generous hospitality from the fine people of Kentucky,” says The Bourbon Crusaders founder RJ Sargent. “They've treated us like family. When we saw the chance to give back, our members jumped at the opportunity.”
“Kentucky Bourbon is a community that spans throughout the Bluegrass State and from whiskey bars in Sidney to the collectors in Manitoba," adds Minnick. "Bourbon lovers everywhere want to help rebuild Western Kentucky with our hands, hearts and wallets.
“Private collectors, Kentucky distillers, out-of-state brands and celebrities donated rare auction items that will surely break records. The Bourbon community believes in the Commonwealth's bond of Bourbon and knows it can bring us together to rebuild.”
Offerings include more than 20 private barrel experiences, where Bourbon enthusiasts can personally taste and select their own one-of-a-kind barrel under the tutelage of the brand’s Master Distiller. Each barrel usually yields 150-200 bottles depending on age and proof.
Whiskey aficionados with The Bourbon Crusaders have raided their collections and donated dozens of limited edition and single barrel expressions of Bourbon, rye and Scotch whiskies. Distillers also have donated rare bottles that disappeared from retailer’s shelves long ago.
Minnick, a best-selling author and expert on all things Bourbon, utilized his renowned distilling and celebrity connections to reap a treasure trove of bottles, private experiences and memorabilia to fulfill any whiskey lover’s dream.
On the hospitality side, companies along the KDA’s world-famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail® tour have donated overnight stays at charming bed and breakfast stops, transportation and tourism packages, a six-foot tall Christmas tree made out of barrel staves and much more.
In addition to the auction, there will be a dedicated “buy it now” section where people can purchase bottles and other items without breaking the bank. Due to COVID and space restrictions, the live auction is not open to the public. Items will be available for viewing online and streaming.
Organizers have been humbled and overwhelmed by the generosity of distillers and partners from outside Kentucky that offered assistance and items for the auction. Kentucky distillers also are sending pallets of hand sanitizer to Western Kentucky that remain from COVID relief efforts.
“The outpouring has been enormous,” Sargent said. “We immediately began receiving texts and calls throughout Kentucky and from coast to coast from our members, friends and partners in the national Bourbon community who knew that we could help them help Kentuckians.”
Gregory said he began making calls to distillers early Saturday morning when daylight gave way to the devastation of the tornados. Not one distiller turned down his request to donate barrels or bottles to the cause.
“I really didn’t have to ask,” he said. “They knew why I was calling and they were ready to help in any way. It could have been any of their communities or families or colleagues. That’s Bourbon. That’s the Kentucky spirit shining through. We’re all about taking care of each other.
“After all, Bourbon is America’s spirit and Kentucky is its birthplace. When Kentucky hurts, we hurt, and that’s why we’re doing this. Thank you to everyone who is helping in the recovery and rebuilding efforts, and please continue praying for our beloved Commonwealth and its people.”

The Singleton Scotch Whisky Launches 'The Course of a Feast': a World-first Dining Experience that Allows Guests to Create a Unique Artwork
LONDON, Dec. 9, 2021 - A one-of-a-kind embodiment of the art of feasting has been created by The Singleton, as part of a new dining experience which distils the movements of guests throughout dinner into a digital artwork. The first of these new dining experiences which will be popping up globally, took place in London, with a five-course feast created by Ollie Dabbous, mapping a gastronomic journey in celebration of the launch of new single malt Scotch whisky, The Singleton of Glen Ord 39-Year-Old.
The artwork created by the inaugural Course of a Feast is both a moving digital piece showing the bursts and contours of the guests' movements over the evening, as well as a still portrait that exhibits the evening in one layered composition. The artwork charts the journey of a feast, a decadent odyssey of flavour which reflects the maturation journey of The Singleton 39-Year-Old. Aged in a variety of casks which had previously held wines from the vineyards and Chateaux across Europe, the feast took us through these regions and then back to the Highland home of The Singleton at Glen Ord where the whisky was nurtured by Master of Malt for The Singleton, Maureen Robinson.
Ollie Dabbous, chef patron of Michelin starred HIDE London, took inspiration from these influences which helped shape the rare whisky, and together with Julien Sarrasin, his award-winning head sommelier, created a five course feasting menu paired with the finest wines and The Singleton Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. Julien used his intimate knowledge of and access to the incredible 6,500 strong library of Hedonism Wines, described as a museum of fine wine, for the pairing for the evening. The evening culminated in a celebratory tasting of The Singleton 39-Year-Old, which was paired with a specially invented dessert in tribute to the whisky, a millefeuille of blackberry and muscovado crumble, containing drops of the precious whisky within its many layers.
These individually sublime components, slowly crafted by experts, came together harmoniously to create an indulgent feast of taste and depth, enjoyed by guests including Charles Maclean, a leading whisky writer and leading world authority on the subject, Master of Malt Maureen Robinson, Head Sommelier at HIDE Julien Sarrasin and Diageo's Senior Global Brand Ambassador Ewan Gunn, who gathered together at Woods Quay, London's newest floating landmark and private space on the River Thames. The transient moments, expressions and movements of the guests throughout the convivial feast were captured by overhead cameras, creating a bespoke piece of artwork to be savoured long after the moment of the dining experience.
The Course of A Feast by The Singleton dining experiences will be popping up in countries across the globe, where guests will be taken on a sublime flavour journey, a feast where they discover true richness in each other's company, in an event which is then recorded in a beautiful artwork which they can cherish forever. To register your interest in attending one of these exclusive events, visit Malts.com.
Maureen Robinson, The Singleton Master of Malt said: "The Course of a Feast was an unforgettable experience to be a part of. To see the flavour journey of The Singleton 39-Year-Old, some of my life's work during my 40 years at Diageo, come to life and inspire the menu by Ollie Dabbous was incredible.
"The 39-year maturation journey of The Singleton 39-Year-Old was an epicurean exploration of the purposeful layering of texture and flavour, creating a topography of richness on the tongue. The artwork we created at The Course of a Feast was the perfect embodiment of this, as we mapped the interaction between one another to create a multi-layered one-of-a-kind piece of art. I will cherish the artwork we created forever as a memory of an outstanding evening, and of a special whisky we bring to the world."
Ollie Dabbous said: "The five-course paired dining experience is a physical manifestation of the flavour of The Singleton 39-Year-Old. When I first tasted The Singleton 39-Year-Old I was impressed by the layers of richness and boldness of the spirit. Blackberries and muscovado crumble come bursting onto the palate, which I honoured with the creation of a special millefeuille of blackberry and muscovado crumble."
Julien Sarrasin said: "As Head Sommelier at HIDE, working alongside Ollie, we work with exquisite flavours and pairings daily with rare fine wines. Meeting Maureen and delving further into the world of whisky was fascinating and it was a delight to taste the journey of this particular whisky, which was finished in casks that had previously held wine hailing from my home of Bordeaux."
This December, HIDE London will also be the first location in the world where The Singleton 39-Year-Old will be available by the dram for guests at the restaurant and bar to purchase and enjoy.
The Singleton 39-Year-Old is now available to purchase globally from selected retailers and Malts.com. The Recommended Retail Selling Price in GBP is £2,295 including UK Duty and Taxes and $2,680 excluding Duty and Taxes in USD.

President's Choice is a single barrel expression and among the finest whisky made by Old Forester, the only bourbon brand to exist before, during and after Prohibition -- and made by the same Brown family of Louisville, Ky.
December 5, 1933, was the day Prohibition was repealed -- a moment now celebrated annually.
The traditional release of President's Choice dates back to 1890 when founder and president George Garvin Brown presented the first iteration of President's Choice to the Governor of Kentucky.
This year, fifth-generation Brown family member Campbell Brown, with the guidance of Master Taster Jackie Zykan, selected the single barrel for release. Brown is chairman of Brown-Forman Corporation.
Old Forester President's Choice retails for $179.99 in limited quantities.
Notes:
Aroma: On the nose, this barrel expresses itself as sweet and inviting with notes of creamy milk chocolate, baked apple and complemented by touches of toasted coconut and brown sugar.
Taste: The palate opens up beautifully with bright caramel that transitions to robust spices.
Finish: The bold and balanced flavor profile is followed at the end by notes of sweet vanilla cream and fresh anise to round out a lengthy clean finish of President's Choice.
