Booker's® Bourbon Celebrates Three Decades With The Release Of Booker's® 30th Anniversary Bourbon
CLERMONT, Ky., Dec. 13, 2018 Booker's® Bourbon, one of the few super-premium bourbons available uncut and unfiltered1, is proud to announce its final and most special release of the year – Booker's® 30th Anniversary Bourbon – celebrating the legacy of late Beam Master Distiller Booker Noe and the founding of his namesake brand three decades ago. Released in extremely limited quantities, Booker's 30th Anniversary Bourbon features a mingling of uncut, unfiltered1 9-year-old and 16-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskies, which together present robust flavor with the brand's signature notes of vanilla that Noe preferred in his namesake whiskey. Bottled at 125.8 proof, these barrels were aged specifically with Booker's legacy in mind under the watchful eye of 7th Generation Master Distiller and Booker's son, Fred Noe.
"It's a great honor to release Booker's 30th Anniversary in commemoration of my Dad and the path he paved when he introduced the world to Booker's Bourbon," said Fred Noe. "When we first started talking about an anniversary batch, I knew it would have to be something special, and during my final tasting of this extra aged liquid, I knew Dad would have been pleased. In the late 1980's, Booker Noe set out to create his version of the perfect whiskey – one that offered a full-bodied taste profile, aged between six and eight years, bottled at its natural proof with robust flavors of vanilla. What started as a personal, holiday gift that Booker would share with close family and friends turned into one of the industry's most influential super premium bourbons. To this day, Booker's Bourbon is considered by many, the industry's first small batch bourbon which contributed to the bourbon movement our industry still enjoys today.
A robust and powerful bourbon, Booker's 30th Anniversary is itself a reflection of Booker, the man. His legacy is also honored in the details of the packaging. Last night, Bulleit took it to the next level by uniting art, design, cocktails, music, new age lighting and next generation technology to unveil its latest Frontier Work – The Bulleit 3D Printed Frontier- a series of private, invite-only events held at the historic Sixteenth Street Station in Oakland. The magic of The Bulleit 3D Printed Frontier is found in the deep collaboration with some of culture's most inspiring, boundary breaking artists and makers.
The Bulleit 3D Printed Frontier comes to life around a jaw dropping 3D printed bar designed by the award-winning architecture and design practice FAR frohn&rojas, and fabricated by the Machine Histories team. The bar design, which was inspired by the iconic Bulleit Bourbon label and award-winning whiskey, will find a permanent home at the new Visitor's Center at The Bulleit Distilling Company in Shelbyville, KY, in 2019; however, it will stop at several cultural hotspots along the way starting in Oakland, CA.
The experience features 3D printed cocktails by robotics pioneer Benjamin Grimeil who worked closely with local mixologists. Paired with 3D printed cocktails, guests also enjoyed 3D printed light bites and musical performances from local Oakland artists, Meklit Hadero – a renowned singer whose beats, lyrics and rhythms are derived from the environment using star mapping technology, and Club Chai DJs 8ulentina and Foozool – resident artists who will be spinning set lists inspired by the frontier spirit and cultural heritage of Oakland. The entire 3D Printed Frontier is enhanced by the magic of Tanya Orellana and Elaine Buckholtz – a highly awarded lighting and projection team who've leveraged the latest in technology to create a unique ambiance fit for this frontier experience.

We are flipping the script on how we share Bulleit with people by creating experiences inspired by the frontiers of the past, to forge new frontiers today," said Sophie Kelly, Sr. Vice President of DIAGEO North American Whiskeys. "From reimagining what a bar could be, to partnering with cutting edge mixologists and robotics pioneers to print 3D cocktails, this experience defies convention in order to redefine tradition, taking people on a journey that explores new frontiers. In addition to occupying the Sixteenth Street Station for The Bulleit 3D Printed Frontier, Bulleit will also make a monetary donation to BRIDGE Housing, the nonprofit affordable housing developer that owns the Station, which helps revitalize the West Oakland area through inclusive programming. The donation builds on the Bulleit brand's continued investment to support urban renewal and will serve to preserve the community's rich culture for generations to come.
To create the bar at the Bulleit 3D Printed Frontier, the FAR team studied the Bulleit bottle label to understand how its unique shape and positioning formed such an iconic design for one of the nation's fastest growing whiskeys. Instead of a traditional drawing of the design, FAR based their design on an algorithmic script that defines the geometry of the piece through a series of digital data sets. The bar's copper surface was inspired by the amber color of Bulleit Bourbon. Taking the bar from design to production was a unique challenge due to the intricacies of the fine lattice structure that are inherent to 3D printing. FAR and Bulleit collaborated to design and redesign the lattice structure more than a dozen different ways to allow for varying densities in different areas of the bar to maximize visual impact, but still cater to the functional needs the bartenders who are the backbone of the Bulleit brand.
"Partnering with Bulleit was exciting because it gave us the opportunity to think about 3D printing with a frontier spirit, and to design a bar that conceptually and technologically brings the spirit of doing things differently to life," said Marc Frohn, FAR Co-Founder and Lead Architect. "We reimagined the support structure inherent to 3D-printing – one that is normally not visible – to become the bar itself. Light then turns this lattice bar into a lantern animating the raw spaces the bar inhabits."
Machine Histories, a design and fabrication studio, then 3D printed the bar which took over 2,000 hours of man and womanpower, not including the hundreds of hours invested in design and engineering. Some of the most technologically advanced 3D printing equipment in the world produced the roughly 3,000 3D printed components, 1,700 struts, and over 1,300 nodes in this one-of-a-kind design. Normally, a project like this could take years to complete, but thanks to the collaboration between all parties working in tandem, the bar was finalized in a little over three months. The bar is printed from glass filled nylon using SLS (selective laser sintering) – an advanced process reflective of the brand's commitment to use some of the most modern whiskey making technology possible at the bar's ultimate home at The Bulleit Distilling Co.
"Bulleit really challenged us to collaborate with a number of partners to rethink what is possible and throw traditional guidelines out the window," said Jason Pilarski, Partner at Machine Histories. "That sense of freedom was scary and liberating all at the same time, but ultimately inspired this truly innovative intersection of art, design and technology."
The Sixteenth Street Station will host The Bulleit 3D Printed Frontier for the series of private invite only events where Bay Area adults can check out the artists and the latest in 3D printing technology. The Bulleit Frontier Works: 3D Printed Frontier experience will then embark on a national tour including its next stop in Austin, TX in 2019. Kavalan Unveils 10th Anniversary 'First Growth Bordeaux' Cask-Aged Whiskies Limited to 3,000 bottles
A Quest for Excellence' - First Growth Bordeaux elegance married with Kavalan's signature fruitiness, smoothness and complexity
TAIPEI, Taiwan, Dec. 4, 2018- To mark a decade to the exact day since the release of its inaugural whisky, Kavalan Distillery has today launched in Taiwan two limited 10th Anniversary special editions, "Kavalan Bordeaux Margaux" and "Kavalan Bordeaux Pauillac."
Each edition is bottled at 57.8% ABV at 1000ml encased in a deluxe gift box set with two Glencairn glasses and limited to only 3,000 bottlings each.
Celebrating its quest for excellence, Kavalan has placed First Growth Bordeaux wine casks from the Margaux and Pauillac regions at the heart of its 10th anniversary commemoration as it looks forward another decade.
Kavalan CEO Mr YT Lee said the occasion was about looking back on the achievements of the past decade and striving harder for perfection in the next.
"At Kavalan we have always sought excellence as a foundation for our whisky as we look into the future and work toward our goal of becoming, what in Taiwan we call a 'century-old distillery,' which is a brand capable of thriving even after hundreds of years," he said.
Master blender Mr Ian Chang said he and Mr Lee had traveled to the historic wine estates of France and handpicked the finest Bordeaux wine casks to age Kavalan's young, award-winning whisky within the subtropical climate of Yilan, Taiwan.
"We were intrigued by the distinctive flavours that might be possible from this unique marriage between Kavalan, where we pursue perfection daily, and these prestigious chateaux known for their centuries of excellence," he said.
Master blender Mr Ian Chang said the First Growth Bordeaux project had been an experiment in "how the spirit of these incredibly rare wines, through their splendid casks, could transform into a very special Kavalan whisky" and that innovation would continue to define Kavalan's next decade.
Kavalan's inaugural whisky, Kavalan Classic Single Malt Whisky, was released a decade ago on Dec 4, 2008, and went on to become the whisky maker's most popular expression.
Each 1000ml Limited Edition gift box set is priced at a RRP of NT$8,800 (US$285). Global releases are in the planning for next year.
In Kavalan's past decade it has achieved entry into the World Whiskies Awards' (WWA) Whisky Magazine "Hall of Fame" for Mr YT Lee and his father Mr TT Lee; the WWA's 2015 "World's Best Single Malt" and 2016 "World's Best Single Cask Single Malt"; the 2017 "Distiller of the Year" and six "Producer of the Year" awards from the International Wine and Spirit Competition, as well as the 2018 "Distillery of the Year" from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Kavalan BORDEAUX MARGAUX WINE CASK MATURED SINGLE CASK SINGLE MALT
Magnificent, characterful, and extraordinarily smooth, the Limited Edition Bordeaux Margaux achieves exquisitely luxurious notes of warm caramel and buttery fudge, thick dark molasses, and the soft sweetness of creamy vanilla.
Colour: Deep Amber.
Nose: Beautiful aromatic caramel sauce infused with warming spices greets the nose. Thick, decadent dessert wine and simmering dark brown sugar emerge, followed by fresh fleshy fruit and gentle Cedarwood in the distance.
Palate: A warming sweet arrival leads to a melting of rich, buttery toffee that's studded with plump raisins. A beautifully light sour plum wine now appears with a faint, but assertive nuttiness.
Finish: Long and incredibly rewarding. The sweetness mingles with the gentle tart notes to reward the drinker with a delightful dance of flavours on the tongue.

Wonderfully opulent and subtly complex, the Limited Edition Bordeaux Pauillac bursts with sumptuous flavours of ripened fruits of the forest, delicious toffee apple, and gentle cumin, coriander and pepper spices.
Colour: Rich Mahogany
Nose: A beautiful nose of soft fruits, from ripe blackcurrants, to strawberries in syrup with a touch of apple. The wine influence is unmistakable. Smoked meat, cumin, ground coriander seeds, and finely grated pepper balance out the flavours.
Palate: Soft fruits drizzled with toffee, before an explosion of fruity flavours and accompanying spices. It is highly enjoyable at cask strength and develops a delicious vanilla creaminess as it is held in the mouth. It handles dilution extremely well at a variety of strengths.
Finish: Front of the mouth spiciness, cooked fruits, and throat-coating warmth.

John Rich Plans Three Day New York City Media Tour for Redneck Riviera Whiskey

(NASDAQ: EAST) today announced that John Rich will be supporting Redneck Riviera Whiskey and the Folds of Honor with a three day media roadshow scheduled to begin Thursday, December 6th. Redneck Riviera Whiskey is a joint collaboration between Eastside and John Rich.
