Wild Turkey® And Matthew McConaughey Give Back To Local Houston Heroes On National First Responders Day
HOUSTON, Oct. 29, 2018 - Wild Turkey® and Matthew McConaughey celebrated National First Responders Day yesterday by giving thanks to a dedicated group of police officers, firefighters, 911 operators, and emergency room doctors and nurses who were on the front lines following Hurricane Harvey in Houston. The Texasnative surprised first responders throughout the day, greeting them with hearty handshakes and delicious turkey feasts as a way to thank them for their valiant efforts and commitment to the city following the devastating natural disaster. Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell joined the Academy Award-winning actor – extending gratitude for the selfless men and women who make a difference in their hometown.
The annual "Wild Turkey Gives Back" campaign is an opportunity for the award-winning Bourbon brand and McConaughey to give thanks to the communities that have given so much to them. This is the second year that Wild Turkey and McConaughey have teamed up to recognize the efforts of residents of America's communities – both rural and urban. Following the success of last year's inaugural "Wild Turkey Gives Back" initiative, McConaughey and Wild Turkey joined forces once again to thank a deserving group of individuals, this year in the actor's home state of Texas. Last year, McConaughey visited the iconic Bourbon's hometown of Lawrenceburg, KY - helping to deliver more than 4,500 turkeys to residents, including 500 turkeys to the local food bank.
"We've always strived to give back to our community and those who support us," said Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell. "So, when Matthew asked if we could support folks in Texas through our Wild Turkey Gives Back program we instinctively knew it was the right thing to do. Matthew and Eddie began the day at Houston Fire Station 26, followed by visits to City Hall to meet with Houston MayorSylvester Turner, the Police Department, Houston Emergency 911 Call Center, and Ben Taub Hospital Emergency Center. At each stop, McConaughey shook hands with the first responders and heard stories of their efforts to serve the community following the devastating hurricane. Matthew and Eddie met with several hundred first responders during their Sunday tour around the city.
In the spirit of giving back to first responders in Houston and nationwide, Wild Turkey has made a donation of $10,000to Team Rubicon, a disaster response organization that trains and deploys military veterans and first responders to communities affected by natural disasters. Team Rubicon is currently responding to communities hit by Hurricanes Michael and Florence, while also rebuilding hurricane-impacted homes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. Wild Turkey is encouraging fans to join them by donating at TeamRubiconUSA.org/WildTurkey. Contributions will support the nonprofit's Ready Reserve program, which identifies, trains, and equips veterans and first responders to aid communities on their darkest days.
Wild Turkey first connected with McConaughey a few years ago upon his inaugural visit to the iconic Kentucky distillery, where he was introduced to the Russells – the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame® father and son Master Distiller team who have 101 years of Bourbon industry experience collectively. The John Walker Masters' Edition: The First 50 Year Old Scotch Whisky in the History of Johnnie Walker
The John Walker Masters' Edition is an elegant and triple-matured Scotch whisky that has been crafted from six exceptionally rare whiskies, each aged for a minimum of 50 years. The whiskies in the The John Walker Masters' Edition have been drawn from ancient distilleries that existed during the lifetime of founder John Walker (1805-1857). Five of the six distilleries whose irreplaceable whiskies feature in The John Walker Masters' Edition now lie silent.
Only 100 bottles of The John Walker Masters' Edition have been created. This exclusive Scotch whisky takes its name from the masterly expertise in whisky as well as presentation. A special release of The John Walker, it is presented in a bespoke, individually numbered, rare double-cased black crystal Baccarat decanter and comes housed in a cabinet made by N.E.J. Stevenson, Cabinet Makers by Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen.

The John Walker Masters' Edition features single malt whiskies drawn from some of the oldest available stocks from the Glen Albyn and Glenury Royal distilleries - which are now closed - and the much-celebrated Blair Athol distillery, which stands at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. The three grain whiskies used in its crafting are drawn from the ghost distilleries of Caledonian, Cambus and Port Dundas.
Johnnie Walker Master Blender Jim Beveridge said: "Each drop of this whisky has been hand-selected from some of the most valuable and precious casks of malt and grain whiskies to be found in our reserves.
"About 20 years ago, Johnnie Walker blenders recognised that these individual whiskies were very special and the decision was made to put them aside for special use, allowing each of them to continue to mature in their casks, knowing that, in time, something even more remarkable would emerge. Our goal was to pay tribute to the whisky masters who worked with these whiskies such a long time ago and, with the creation of The Masters' Edition, I believe we've done that."
The John Walker Masters' Edition is a triple-matured Scotch whisky. Finished in small batches in a bespoke marrying cask made of 100 year oak staves, its layers of flavour are revealed slowly on the palate, where luscious blackcurrants and citrus give way to rich, creamy dark chocolate and a long, gentle and warming finish with cooling menthol and a subtle smokiness.
The John Walker Masters' Edition has a natural cask strength ABV of 43.3% and an RRP of $25,000 (US). It is available in limited, selected markets and one bottle will be auctioned at Bonhams, Hong Kong in 2019.

Michter's to Release its 20 Year Bourbon for the First Time in Two Years
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 16, 2018 Michter's Master Distiller Pamela Heilmann and Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson have decided to release Michter's 20 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon this year. The last release of this Michter's offering occurred two years ago in November 2016.
"We're really proud of our 20 year and older offerings," commented Michter's President Joseph J. Magliocco. "They come from stocks that we purchased years ago, and we feel that the barrels have developed really well." Recognizing the critical importance of rickhouse management in the aging of older whiskeys, Michter's Distillery has the position of Master of Maturation. This is held by Andrea Wilson, the first woman to ever serve as Chair of the Kentucky Distillers Association. Wilson observed, "One of the most exciting aspects of my job is when I sample older barrels. These barrels were really special and we are thrilled to share this year's 20 Year Bourbon release with our consumers."

Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company Releases New Peerless Dimensions for Distribution

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 10, 2018 Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company released its two-year-old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey in May 2017. The multi-dimensional rye whiskey has received several accolades since its release. In November 2017, Whisky Advocate named Peerless' Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey No. 15 Best Whiskey in the World. It was the only rye whiskey on the list and the only product from a craft distillery. In celebration of the complexity of the rye, Kentucky Peerless will be releasing the Peerless Dimensions.
Peerless Dimensions
The Peerless Dimensions are 15 single barrels that were hand-selected by Head Distiller Caleb Kilburn. Kilburn grades each barrel individually throughout its aging process and selects which parts of the flavor wheel they exemplify when he deems them ready.
Kilburn only selects the barrels with complex and distinct flavor profiles to claim the Peerless Dimensions title. One at a time, each barrel is bottled and custom labels are placed on by hand. Each single barrel yields approximately 216 bottles of a one-of-a-kind flavor profile.
These 15 barrels will be available for purchase by case for liquor stores and bars. The Dimensions give retailers the opportunity to offer a variety of single-barrel selections by the case instead of by the barrel. These single barrels are on a first-come, first-served basis. The Peerless Dimensions will be released annually for purchase by retailers.

Known by their icy blue eyes and led by the Night King, the undead army of White Walkers have emerged from the Frozen North bringing with them the chill of winter and now a limited-edition whisky that evokes their icy world. Created by whisky specialist George Harper, alongside the small team of expert blenders at Johnnie Walker, this innovative whisky is best served directly from the freezer, echoing the chilling presence of the White Walkers.
The bottling brings you right to the Frozen North with an icy white and blue design along with the iconic Johnnie Walker Striding Man now fashioned in armour to fit in among the ranks of the Night King's forces. Utilising temperature-sensitive ink technology, fans will be reminded that "Winter is Here" from an unexpected graphic icy reveal on the bottle when frozen.
The Scotch has notes of caramelised sugar and vanilla, fresh red berries with a touch of orchard fruit and features Single Malts from Cardhu and Clynelish - one of Scotland's most Northern distilleries. Blender George Harper used the Frozen North as his starting point for creating White Walker by Johnnie Walker.
