About Three Floyds Distilling:

Three Floyds Distilling is the spirits-focused extension of the renowned Three Floyds Brewing in Munster, Indiana. Launched in 2017, the distillery applies the same "Not Normal" philosophy to spirits that made its brewery a cult favorite, often utilizing ingredients and flavor profiles from its iconic beers.

Core Spirit Offerings

The distillery produces a range of high-proof, "super-premium" spirits, many of which have won national recognition, including Indiana Distillery of the Year at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition.

  • Whiskey: A major focus of the program, featuring:
    • Bubblegumhead: A straight malt whiskey distilled from the same white wheat used in their famous Gumballhead beer.
    • Divine Rite: Available in both a white whiskey (moonshine) version and a barrel-aged version.
    • The Demon's Whip: A four-year aged Indiana Rye whiskey.
  • Gin: Noted for avoiding the typical dry British style, their gins include:
    • Wight VVitch: A Midwestern gin featuring unique botanicals like ginger, lemongrass, and pink peppercorn.
    • Oude Boatface: Their original gin release, citrus-forward with cardamom and juniper.
  • Akvavit (Aquavit): BüstHedd Akvavit is a signature product influenced by Scandinavian traditions, utilizing caraway seed, dill, and fennel.
  • Rum: Includes Blanq Reavers Silver Rum, made from 100% evaporated cane juice, and Sea's Cruelty, a banana and coconut flavored variant.
  • Canned Cocktails: Recently expanded to include premium "Splash" packs like Tequila Splash Paloma and Vodka Soda Pineapple Mango.

     

Distillery Experience

Located on the same campus as the brewery in Munster, the distillery features a three-story, 9,000-square-foot facility.

  • Tasting Room: The space features a heavy metal and Dungeons & Dragons aesthetic, with leather booths and a horseshoe-shaped bar.
  • Exclusives: Certain limited barrel-aged products, such as the 17-month aged Divine Rite, are sometimes only available by the pour in the tasting room or as "to-go" bottles directly from the source.
  • Food: The tasting room menu traditionally offers small plates and "pasties"—doughy treats filled with meat or vegetables.

  • Founder: Nick Floyd oversees the creative direction, ensuring the spirits match the "Not Normal" brand identity.
  • Master Distiller: Abby Titcomb, a former brewer for Three Floyds, transitioned to head the distilling program in 2016, bringing a brewer’s sensibility to grain selection and fermentation.
