From Shanken:

Aiming to extend its upswing and raise its profile in the U.S.  market, Tullamore Dew has unveiled new packaging that’s now hitting U.S.  store shelves. Tullamore Dew’s new bottle design emphasizes the  heritage of the brand throughout the design by giving founder Daniel E.  Williams’ initials “D.E.W.” more prominence within the product name.  Additionally, “1829”, the year the original Tullamore distillery was  founded, is embossed on the package.

Since acquiring Tullamore Dew in 2010, William Grant & Sons has  made a concerted effort to accelerate the brand’s growth in the U.S. The  new packaging follows last year’s launch of Tullamore Dew’s “Irish  True” ad campaign in the market. “Tullamore Dew is a brand that hasn’t  had a clear point of view or a lot of investment behind it,” William  Grant & Sons North America managing director Simon Hunt recently  told Shanken News Daily. “We’ve increased that investment and started  communicating the concept of ‘Irish True’—which goes to the heart of  what Tullamore Dew is all about.”

While it’s the second-largest Irish whiskey brand worldwide,  Tullamore Dew is dwarfed by both market leader Jameson and second-ranked  Bushmills in the U.S.—the world’s biggest Irish whiskey market. Even  after years of solid growth, Tullamore Dew’s yearly sales are still well  shy of 100,000 cases. Last year, the brand rose by 7% to 76,000 cases
