Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire And iHeartMedia Team Up To Raise Funds For The Fire Family Foundation

imageLYNCHBURG, Tenn., Feb. 28, 2017 Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire and iHeartMedia announce the "Rise From The Fire" Concert Flyaway Sweepstakes. Consumers ages 21+ can now enter for a chance to win a trip for two to New York for a benefit concert featuring a top music act. The event will conclude an 11-city iHeartRadio concert series to benefit firefighters and communities affected by fire.

The sweepstakes and concert series are part of an effort by Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire to raise funds in support of the Fire Family Foundation, an organization that offers immediate assistance to firefighters and their families, fire victims, fire departments and charities. The Foundation believes that by coming together as a "Fire Family," assistance can be provided by those impacted by fire.

"We are truly honored to have the support of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire to expand our efforts," says Robin McCarthy, Executive Director, Fire Family Foundation. "It's refreshing to work with a brand that's values are aligned with our mission to help people reclaim their lives after a tragedy such as a fire."

The "Rise From The Fire" program pays homage to Jack Daniel's history. In April of 1930, the Jack Daniel distillery in Lynchburg, TN, was devastated by a fire. The distillery was later rebuilt, and operations resumed in 1937 with a fully functional fire brigade on the grounds. Now, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire will carry on the tradition and help others rebuild. The brand will drive donations for the Fire Family Foundation via the website, concerts and at location activations. Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire will kick off the fundraising efforts with an initial donation of $25,000 to the organization to further enhance its efforts.

"Jack Daniel himself was a man committed to bettering the community, and with 'Rise From The Fire,' Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire will continue his legacy," says Casey Nelson, Brand Director, Jack Daniel's Flavor Portfolio. "Through this initiative, we will help firefighters and their families in their efforts to rebuild, while celebrating their selfless contributions."

The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States, who are at least 21 years of age. Consumers can enter until April 30 by visiting www.JackFire.com and completing the entry form. The concert series will visit San Francisco, Tampa, Cincinnati, Austin, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Phoenix, Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston and New York. Crown Royal Turns Mardi Gras Trash into Treats and Treasure

imageNEW ORLEANS, Feb. 23, 2017 - Each year, New Orleans generously plays host to more than a million revelers who descend upon the city to experience the spectacle of Mardi Gras – often described as "the biggest free party on earth." What many don't see amidst the parties and parades is the extraordinary effort of the city's residents to clean up after the celebrations, clearing from the streets up 100,000-200,000 pounds of trash each night, to maintain the beauty of one of America's most beloved cities by sunrise each day. And much of that trash is comprised of plastic beads, tossed from floats and balconies, which end up on the streets.

This year, Crown Royal, Louisiana's top-selling whisky brand, is helping to lighten the load and assist in the cleanup effort by encouraging consumers 21+ to visit its pop-up party space in front of Harrah's (at the corner of Canal and South Peters) and donate their beads otherwise destined for landfill. Those who part ways with their beads will be rewarded with a royal treat – a King Cake from legendary New Orleans bakery, Gambino's.

Crown Royal is encouraging Mardi Gras revelers in New Orleans to "Live Generously" by donating their beads for King Cakes and for charity.

Beads will be collected in partnership with Arc of Greater New Orleans, a nonprofit organization serving people with intellectual disabilities and delays. Arc operates a year-round Mardi Gras Recycling Center, where used beads are sorted, repackaged and resold for about a dollar per pound, raising money and creating job opportunities for those in need. "We hope to recycle more than 175,000 pounds of beads this year and we're thankful for Crown Royal's generosity in helping us to get there," said Arc Recycling Coordinator Margie Perez.

A portion of the beads will be also repurposed by visual artist Stephan Wanger, who creates dazzling mosaics using recycled Mardi Gras beads. He will invite attendees at Crown Royal's pop-up party to join him in completing his current project, a massive 8' by 96' mural titled "Life in the French Quarter," an attempt to break his own Guinness World Record for the world's largest mosaic.

"We're proud to help give folks a simple way to pay back the generosity the city of New Orleans has shown to us – and to the millions who have experienced Mardi Gras through the years," said Jim Ruane, Crown Royal Brand Director. "We want to show them how easy, fun and rewarding it can be to live generously."

The activation is part of Crown Royal's new campaign, "Live Generously and Life Will Treat You Royally," a mission to inspire a magnanimous approach to life and encourage generosity in all of its many forms. And New Orleans, a city renowned for its hospitality, diversity and generous spirit, provides the perfect backdrop – in fact, much of the brand's advertising campaign was shot in the city, highlighting real New Orleans residents who exemplify a generous spirit.

Parade-goers can visit the pop-up party space during the following times to donate beads, collect their King Cakes, purchase Crown Royal cocktails crafted by local bartenders, enjoy live entertainment and hydrate: Thursday, February 23rd and Friday, February 24thfrom 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, February 25th and Sunday, February 26th from 2-8 p.m.

And whether you're in New Orleans or celebrating Mardi Gras in your hometown, Crown Royal encourages you to enjoy responsibly and drink plenty of water.

Sugarlands Distilling Company Presents Electric Orange Appalachian Sippin' Cream

imageGatlinburg, Tenn.— Sugarlands Distilling Company, distillers of award-winning spirits in East Tennessee, have released Electric Orange Cream Liqueur. The newest Appalachian Sippin' Cream is currently available at the downtown Gatlinburg distillery and will soon be available in stores and online at BuySugarlands.com

The new spirit combines a bright, fresh orange zest with the smooth taste of vanilla cream. The vibrant orange taste pairs perfectly with the cream to create a taste similar to frozen cream pops found in your hometown malt shop. At 40 proof, electric orange can be sipped straight out of the jar or added to your favorite float.

Electric Orange joins an award-winning line of spirits that has won 20 awards internationally since distillation began in 2014. Sugarlands Distilling Company offers dozens of creative cocktail ideas on their cocktail page.

Since opening in March 2014, Sugarlands Distilling Company has quickly become one of the most celebrated crafters of moonshine spirits in the country. The East Tennessee distillery currently offers 14 varieties of award-winning moonshine distilled in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Sugarlands Distilling Company combines innovative drinks with a raconteur and thrilling vibe. At the downtown Gatlinburg distillery, craft moonshine and whiskey partners up with live music, moonshine tastings, distillery tours and outdoor adventures in the Sugarlands—an area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, also known as “moonshiners’ paradise”.

Each year, nearly 1 million people visit the distillery, making it America's top-rated distillery experience and the number one "thing to do" in Gatlinburg, Tenn., according to TripAdvisor.com.

The World Raises a Glass of Its Favourite Whisky to International Scotch Day

imageLONDON, Feb. 8, 2017 -- In honour of Scotland's gift to the world, to the spirit that has long drawn people in through its status and style, this Friday February 10th 2017 the inaugural International Scotch Day will be celebrated worldwide. The day invites people everywhere to raise a glass of Scotch to celebrate a drink that's made to be enjoyed with good company, wherever and whenever.

Ronan Beirne, Global Marketing Director from Diageo commented, "Scotch is the world's favourite whisky. No other spirit can offer the same range of tastes, textures and flavours; made the same way for over five hundred years in distilleries small and large, the length and breadth of Scotland. The introduction of International Scotch Day shows our confidence in the vibrancy of Scotch. We are proud of the heritage, authenticity and quality of the category but we are also continuing the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship by adding a new cultural moment and occasion to the calendar to continue to drive and evolve the future of Scotch whisky."

Official International Scotch Day celebrations are taking place all over the world, and fronting the proceedings is world renowned supermodel Coco Rocha and actress Freida Pinto.

To mark the launch Coco Rocha pulled her famous poses against a backdrop of casks in Scotland to capture a series of stunning photographs. "I loved this photo shoot as it playfully partners the swagger and style of Scotch with the craft and artisanship behind the whisky," reflected Coco Rocha.

On International Scotch Day Coco Rocha will be enjoying a Scotch cocktail in some of Mexico City's most vibrant bars and clubs. Across the globe Freida Pinto has already kicked off celebrations in the heart of Manila, having played host to a glamorous event alongside other notable names and faces, and on the day itself she will front celebrations in Mumbai.

Scotch is the very pinnacle of cool - loved in every corner of the globe. It's made to be enjoyed any way you like it. In China, Scotch is often mixed with iced green tea; in the Caribbean it's served with coconut water; and in India they like it straight.

"Personally, my favourite way to drink Scotch is a Johnnie Walker with ginger ale," said Coco Rocha, "but I'll mix it up depending on my mood or what I am doing. If I'm going to drink, I like a nicely made quality drink, versus drinking too many."

People can join the movement and get involved by using #LoveScotch and #InternationalScotchDay. For more information visit facebook.com/LoveofScotch---

Please drink responsibly.
